Detailed Reviews
This is a budget hotel near the Bordeaux train station. It is brand new, funky, and geared to younger and budget travellers. We had a double room with bathroom (more on that later) but I think there are also dorm/hostel type rooms and there is a communal kitchen in addition to lovely restaurant. The staff and service are excellent, the public spaces are clean and comfortable and the breakfast is very good. There are two possible problems for travellers. First, the location is not good for women travellers who are arriving in Bordeaux at night. The hotel is in the middle of a industrial/construction zone which is deserted and very creepy at night. While theoretically you can walk to the hotel, at night I would not advise it. And google maps was confused at how to do this, wanting to send us on a much longer route. We had to spend 20 Euros on a taxi to go what was really a short distance, and the taxi driver was so concerned (because it almost looked abandoned) he walked in with us to make sure we'd be okay. For women coming in or leaving during the day, no problem. You can figure out the overpass and the hotel staff are super helpful, but at night, not advisable. Second, make sure that you are really comfortable with your travel companion. This is a stripped down hotel, funky and great, but the rooms are small and intimate. The sink and the shower - with a glass door - is in the room, not in a separate bathroom. The toilet, however, is in a WC. And there is nowhere to hang or store clothing, so this really a short-term stay hotel. Other than the hotel restaurant there is also nothing else in the area except a construction zone. That being said, it is perfect for the unexpected overnight stay in Bordeaux if you arrive during the day, and in a few years when that area is built up I expect it will be beautiful and alive with cafes and restaurants.

Positives - 10 min walk from Gare St Jean Station. Family room spacious and very light. Modern, quirky decor with very comfortable beds. It’s a new hotel so well kept/housekeeping very good and has a rooftop bar and swimming pool. It was very easy to find and the team were very helpful. There’s a great street food venue right outside with small stalls serving pizza, Vietnamese, fish, Middle Eastern and grills - it also had music and a bar in the evening. Supermarket and pharmacy 1min from hotel. It’s a new build residential area and we felt very safe.
Negative and there was only one - there was a really poor smell from the drains. If you are happy to sleep with the window open then it was bearable but this really could do with removing as it is quite off putting.

Trendy hotel with a few things which need improving. The first room we got put in had someone’s pants on the floor and the bed wasn’t very clean, the second the air con was broke! The hotel has an eggy smell. Overall the hotel is ok and in a good location near the tram but not great if your visiting alone as the street which takes you down to the hotel is dark. A lot of review say it’s loud but it’s really not you can’t hear anything. The roof top is nice! 7/10 *

Fine if you want somewhere cheap and trendy to get your head down, right by the station and a lovely rooftop area but so many things let the hotel down:
1. Only one thin pillow per bed (when asked they did provide a second each)
2. A weird eggy smell that seemed to lurk everywhere, in the shower area when we arrived, in the restaurant whenever we walked past. Think they have some drainage issues.
3. The double rooms are incredibly compact with just 6 coat hangers to put all your clothes on. No wardrobes or drawers.
4. The shower opens into the main room where the sink also is so no privacy
5. Staff don’t seem overly bothered by anything, didn’t even check the system when we asked if there was the possibility of a twin room instead.
6. Communal tea facilities without milk
7. Loud trains woke you up daily from around 6am

Responded 9 Aug 2023
Thank you for your comment and for staying with us. We are very sorry to know that you did not like your stay. 1- Indeed in the rooms there is only one pillow, but of course asking the reception, they will pleasingly give you another, we are glad to know that the reception did respond to your demand. 2- We are very sorry about the smell, indeed we did have a problem with it, so we did everything necessary to fix it. 3- The standard room is 15m2, we are sorry ifit was not big enough, we do have biggest rooms in other category. Do not hesistate in speak with the reception, they could have help you if you wanted a biggest room :) 4- Our rooms have been thought in order to be practical, we are sorry if it was not something you liked. 5- The staff is very thoughtful towards our clients. We have only 2 twin rooms, and they are full everyday. Our rooms can not be changed, as the bed is one real bed and not two beds. For that, we have a caterogy of twin room that you can reserve online. Unfortunately, if you could not booked them it is because we did not have anymore. 6- We are sorry if there was no milk, if you need anything we invite you to ask at the reception of restaurant, we will happily help you :) 7- Again, we do apoligize if the trains woke you up in the morning. Are rooms have double glazing. Best regards, The Josties

A very pleasant place for a drink at the roof top. We enjoyed the view on the Bordeaux city, particularly nice at the moment sunset. The pool seems more decorative than for swimming ! This is not the place for dinner, but there is a restaurant at the ground floor.

Overpriced hotel run by clueless teenagers. Do not recommend. Reception guy only took money, had no idea about anything, no information given, no welcome, nada. Was also quite plain and rude to a lady before me. I asked a few simple questions, he could not answer a single one.
Bathroom in the room has no privacy, ipen plan? Not even a screen, so the whole bathroom get absolutely soaked if you "shower".

Excellent location. This hotel is rated 3 star but its more like 4 star. The staff are amazing (shout out to Elaine at reception and Valentine at the bar - although all the staff were brilliant). Nothing was too much trouble. Very close to the main train station / tram line / bus stop. Rooms were huge and spotless. Couldn't fault it. Would highly recommend anyone travelling to Bordeaux to stay here. Thank you, we had a wonderful visit.

+1
Incredibly small rooms. Rooftop bar is closed a lot of the times, no music on the rooftop so defo not as trendy as they make it out. Staff was nice, breakfast was nice as well, comfortable bed and nice soap and towels but the room is super small. Toilet, shower and sink are all separate , we checked out 5 days early. Very hostel
Vibe with hotel price or €120 per night

Really nice decor…..a short walk from the railway station and once we had our bearings a half hour stroll into the Centre of Bordeaux. It is in n area where there’s a lot of building work, but it’s managed fine for pedestrians to get around.
The room was compact’ but everything was there. A comfortable bed….nice and quiet. Superb shower behind a wall in the bedroom …the toilet is in a room behind the bed, so that was clever use of the space. Lots of sockets for charging devices and a hairdryer.
In the corridor there’s coffee & tea making facilities and an ironing board & iron.
Strangely we had an empty bottle (presumably for water) and two plastic mugs (not sure if they were clean though ? …so we didn’t use them…in Travel lodges they’re normally in sealed plastic bags so you know they’re clean. )
We had to pay local taxes on arrival ….just 6.60 euros …..and we paid €18 for a parking ticket as we’d used the MetCarpark very close to the hotel and they have a discount arrangement ….it was only €2 discounted though. We parked for 2 days Thurs to Sat and the cost would have been 40€ but we only had to pay €20 after scanning the voucher we had bought at the hotel for €18.
The bar staff are all very young and inexperienced.
Breakfast is normal continental style ….croissants/bread/ cake /cheese & ham plus yogurts and cereals. but they offer eggs and bacon too…..although on the first morning the scrambled eggs were all gone at 10am. It was good value though.
The restaurant was full on the morning we left and was mayhem …..only 3 staff to clear tables and re fill the food trays and keep the coffee machine running. They all worked so hard but we’re still smiling which was impressive ! Everyone seemed to have arrived for breakfast at the same time.
Thank you …we enjoyed our stay.

Clean fun easy to like hotel. Not easy to get to from the station, but the hotel was excellent value for money. Big room with one very comfortable big bed and two comfortable small ones (one folds under the other.). Two showers in one. Separate WC. All super clean. Breakfast had everything you’d need and the kids ate free. A happy experience………
