Detailed Reviews
This is a delightful boutique hotel just off Place Gambetta on a quiet street with lovely shops and cafés nearby. An excellent location for exploring the elegant city of Bordeaux: it is a short walk to the efficient tram system or to sights such as the Cathedral and Musee des Beaux Arts. Good value for money. Although there is no lounge or dining room, you can take breakfast next door in a café or have it delivered to your room.
We had a comfortable room on the 3rd floor with a view towards the chestnut trees on the square. Facilities included bathroom with shower and a separate toilet, wardrobe and fridge/minibar with some complimentary water and coffee.
The hotel is run by a husband and wife who were extremely welcoming and helpful, giving good restaurant recommendations and travel advice. It felt friendlier and more relaxed than a big chain.

Having stayed in the hotel for two nights I honestly don’t think I could fault the experience one bit. The staff were very welcoming and helped us understand the area and the best places/areas to go to.
With the 24 hour reception it was just a case of dropping keys off every time we went out which was quite nice to not have to worry about losing the key.
The room was amazing. A lot more spacious than we were expecting and the bathroom was gorgeous. Although the room got a bit hot, there was a fan provided in the room which helped keep the temperature down.
The location was also excellent. Close enough to be next to all the main restaurants and sights within the city, but also near enough to main roads so that being dropped off and picked up from taxis was very easy. Also quite surprising that there was no noise coming from outside the windows at night which helped get good nights sleep.
I don’t think I could recommend the hotel enough and the 5/5 is thoroughly deserved.

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Bordeaux. Even before we arrived I had great communication with Amelia, she offered restaurant recommendations and offered a great overview of activities to do while we were in town.
We arrived early and rooms were not ready, but we anticipated this. We went out for lunch and to explore and received a message from the hotel as soon as the rooms were good to go, suitcases in our room when we arrived back at the hotel which was nice!
We had room 32, looking over the park and the street below, no issues with noise from the street or restaurant. Two big windows and two fans kept the room cool when it was a bit warm out. The hotel staff was always friendly and helpful.
Our room was clean and tidy, good size and great bathroom. If we return to Bordeaux (I hope we do!) we would happily stay here again and recommend to friends and family.
Thank you so much for a lovely week!

Quirky hotel which is ideally situated for exploring Bordeaux City Centre everything you need or want to see within 20 mins walking distance. The staff are incredibly friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a Deluxe room which was nice without being anything special room is clean however would say it is quite basic.

Very happy with our one-night stay at the Madame. Very warm welcome by Adrian who told us everything we needed to know in good English. Our room (45) on the 4th floor was fine, not large, with a generous sized bathroom. There’s a fan for air circulation (room a bit stuffy otherwise). The Madame is in a great location in the old town. Restaurants and cafés all around. The owners have given great attention to the small details: information for guests and decoration. Although it has no reception to speak of, the hotel gives the feeling of being bigger than it is. We would gladly return.

We found this hotel online and were impressed with the exterior building and the location. The location is EXCELLENT for this beautiful city. We were made to feel very welcomed by the staff, and they could not have been more helpful and charming. Though our room was quite small, we had an amazing view of an original city gate from our window. It was a lovely experience in this interesting, beautiful city.

This hotel is situated right in the centre of the historical district of Bordeaux. It is close to a whole range of shops, restaurants and coffee shops.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Our room was spacious and had a large balcony. The minibar was stocked with all kinds of drinks.
A note of caution however. It was extremely hot in Bordeaux in late June this year when we were there. Our room became unpleasantly hot, and the fan in the room helped, but couldn't quite cope. I understand and respect that the hotel gets high marks for its eco systems, but you as the guest has to keep an eye on the weather report and consider your options very carefully.

I spent two nights at this hotel with my wife and two friends and was astounded how friendly our welcome was. The hotel was well positioned in the centre of the city. The rooms were clean and warm with the usual facilities - tv, wi-fi, mini-bar…….
Our hosts, who haven’t had this hotel for long were so nice, we will definitely go back. Nothing was too much trouble including really good advice on restaurants and city sites. Such a change from the larger, sometimes faceless hotel establishments.
Surely the friendliest hotel in Bordeaux!!!
10 out of 10 !

We loved to stay at this newly refurbished hotel! Very friendly and helpful reception desk, good breakfast that included eggs, ham and cheese, clean room, location very close to "everything". When we mentioned a small problem in our room it was promptly seen to, and we even got an upgrade when we came back for a second stay. Would definitely stay at Hotel Madame again!

A wonderful 3 day stay at the Hotel Madame. Perfectly located at the edge of the pedestrianised part of the City this charming hotel is everything you need! Check-in was perfect with the lovely Amelia giving us a map with lots of recommendations to eat and see. Our room was beautifully decorated with a Nina Simone theme! Lovely comfy bed and nice shower with one of the best hotel hairdryers I’ve ever used! We would 100% recommend the Hotel Madame and we are looking forward to returning one day soon!
