Detailed Reviews
Location and parking are good, close to the tram to central Bordeaux and the motorway. Pool looked nice and there is plenty for kids to enjoy.
However there is only 1 small lift, the air con takes a while to get going and we thought the asking price for breakfast pretty steep. Bedrooms are functional rather than comfortable and we had a very small double bed with a single pillow each.
Definitely not 4 star.

check-in took some time, but ok. I was on 6th floor, quiet room. Went to the bar for a drink, but nobody attending the bar. The receptionist saw me, but didn't do anything. After 10 minutes waiting, I went over to the receptionist and asked if there was someone doing bar service (it was 40°C, I had been driving 800kms and was very thirsty). I understand that hotel managers minimise staffing, but in such hot weather they should take better care of their customers. After I got my drink, the waiter disappeared again, leaving the bar unattended.
Dinner was ok, also breakfast in the morning. Too bad for the bad service at the bar, and the bartender is not to blame !
Room was airconditioned, but not individual temperature setting. The aircon was on, and that's it. Still a bit too hot in the room.

We spent a fantastic 5 nights in this hotel at the end of July 2023.
We got the A line tram into the city from the airport and then transfered to the C Line tram which dropped us off a 1 minute walk from the hotel. The location is perfect. Very quiet with lovely trees in the garden and around the pool creating shade.
When we arrived the reception staff could not have been any more helpful. They even kept the kitchen open for us to get lunch as we arrived it was just about to close the lunch sitting. After flying from Ireland, we were thrilled that the staff were that willing to help us out.
The staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English if we could not communicate in our broken French.
Rooms were spotlessly clean every day and the hotel lobby /bar area was just beautiful with bright colourful furniture and an amazing water feature at reception.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on 2 occasions and the food was very good, with the 3 course menu for 29euro being very good value for money.
The pool was cleaned every morning and we were impressed that despite all the trees in the garden, we never found a single leaf or piece of debris in the pool. This is a sign of the care and diligence of the staff.
Overall experience could be summarised as :
1. Great location by tramline for access to Bordeaux city.
2. Very friendly and attentative staff with good communication skills
3. Spotlessly clean hotel rooms, lobby, pool and garden
4. Great food in the restaurant.
Will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Arrived after a long drive, just wanted to sleep.
They give me room 515, I bring all my luggage up to my room, get unpacked, discover the safe doesn't work. They can't fix it because the engineer doesn't work on Tuesdays.
So they offer me a new room, 511, I pack all my gear up and move. But the key doesn't work for 511, so back downstairs. They don't believe me, come back up to check and agree that it doesn't work. The lady said "the lock for 512 broke earlier this week".
They give me room 411 on a lower floor. So now I have to go get a trolley from downstairs to get all my luggage in and out of lifts (there is only one lift so you have to wait for other people to go first.
Room 411, there is a grim smell as soon as I open the door. I walk into the bathroom and realise my shoes are leaving footprints in the room, the carpet is soaked. And it's soaked with something that smells precisely like urine.
Back downstairs for another room, and more shuffling, now I'm in 419. It has a safe that works and it doesn't smell of urine.
Approx an hour spent faffing when all I wanted was to close my eyes.
The staff were very nice and apologetic, but clearly something is wrong with their operational processes that a guest has to be checked in to 4 different rooms before he can be settled.

Although this hotel is situated on outskirts of Bordeaux it is perfect if you have a car. Reception staff very welcoming and friendly, rooms were clean and reasonably spacious, could have done with bit more shelf space but probably not many people stay for 5 nights as we did. We ate in the restaurant for 3 nights but unfortunately due to staff issues it was closed at the weekend. The 3 meals we had were very nice as were the breakfasts. Although a way out of the town there was a tram just a short walk away which took you anywhere in the centre of the city, which was perfect. Overall good experience at this lovely hotel.

Hotel is situated in a little business park about 15 mins by tram to the city centre. Trams every 10 to 15 mins and literally from the bottom of the street. Hotel pool is small but clean, and bar served a lovely beer. Didn't eat in the restaurant as we travelled to city everyday.
Def recommend Hotel, Bordeaux, shops and restaurants.

I was there for 9 nights , it could not have been better .Mr Bolaingue the director made sure that my every wish was fulfilled including my special steak tartar made by Christophe the chef who I have to say has a fantastic god quality menu . His kindness and attention are equal to none . The same apply to all the staff , Martin , Valentina ,Hugo, Mathias from the beverages section , Thomas , Antoine , J Michel, Marianne , Morganne from the reception thus without the chambermaids .
I definitely recommend this hotel , I went there on business however they made it a holiday .
Many thanks to every one of you it will be a dream to come back as I am living in UK .

I have recently stayed for 2 nights at the Mercure sur lac outside Bordeaux. I can honestly say that it was a pleasure!
The room was spotless, clean, fresh and very comfortable.
The breakfast is excellent with an array of hot and cold products. In fact I cannot fault it at all!
The staff were very helpful and attentive and a special mention to Thomas who was very professional and helpful in all aspects and a mine of information to get the best out of one’s stay!
I must say that I read some previous posts and either some people invent negative comments just for the sake of it or they must have stayed elsewhere!
I have no connection with the organisation, I was merely visiting a truly remarkable corner of South West France. I enjoyed my stay very much and thank you to all! It was much appreciated.
I would highly recommend this Hotel, the service, location and transportation links are excellent and if you wish, all other amenities are close by.
I look forward to a return visit.
Thank you, regards, Walter

Incredible disappointing check-in counter staff. We arrived at 3pm and they asked us to wait for 5 minutes until our room was ready. I kept asking every 5-10minuted and they kept saying “give us 2 minutes”. We got our room after serious complaints at their staff at about 3.45Pm. Why do we have to pay in full for a room that should be ready at 3pm and we get it at 3.45pm? At times, the staff didn’t understand or spoke good enough English and had zero empathy or customer service attention! Definitely not a place to return if can be avoided
