Hotel De Seze is lauded for its prime location that allows for easy exploration of the city, with guests frequently mentioning the convenience of nearby dining and transport options. The hotel's rooms, while noted by some as compact, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and comfort, featuring stylish decor and modern amenities. The staff at Hotel De Seze receive high marks for their professionalism and friendly service, with many reviewers highlighting their willingness to assist.
However, a few travelers have pointed out the limited amenities. Despite this, the hotel's overall atmosphere and cleanliness earn rave reviews, with additional touches like underfloor heating and a well-curated wine selection enhancing the guest experience.

Detailed Reviews
Without exception, every single member of the team at this bijoux city cnetre hotel was charming, knowledgeable and very helpful...always. And none more so than Camille on reception!
Each morning we enjoyed the excellent breakfast, members of the kitcen team appeared when delivering more items to the buffet tables and each time they genuinely smiled and wished us "bonjour". The breakfast options, by the way, exceed reasonable expectations even in such a 4 star hotel!
The hotel itself is bright, attractive and functional throughout. The exterior facade is elegant and the lobby bright and wecloming. Beautifully decorated throughout and with slippers, robes and high quality toileteries supplied, the Hotel de Seze fully deserves it's 4 star rating.
Yes, in the standard double room, space is a bit tight but less so in the next category up. In city hotels throughout Europe, space is always at more of a premium and such dimensions are not unusual. In no way did that detract from the overall pleasure of staying here.
I have stayed in many hotels throughout the worlld and have never before felt inclined to leave a review because there's not much you can say about "average". But in this case I feel compelled to say what I think about Hotel de Seze just because they deserve recognition for all the many things they have got right,.
I just hope that too many good reviews doesn't mean I will not find a room available here next time I want to visit Bordeaux!!!

The Hotel de Seze is an outstanding choice for visiting Bordeaux.
Location: The hotel is in the city center, about a fifteen minute taxi ride from the main train station and an easy walk to the main shopping and sightseeing areas; there are multiple cafes and restaurants in the immediate neighborhood.
Rooms: The Seze is a boutique hotel with around 50 rooms, and appears to have been updated fairly recently. We booked a basic room, which was comfortable, but extremely small and overlooking an interior courtyard. As we were adjacent to an elevator, we asked to change rooms, and the staff kindly upgraded us to the next room category, which offered more space. The bedding was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom fixture and amenities were excellent. One quirk: As is typical in France, the bathroom and toilet are separate. The toilet did not have its own sink, however, so you have to traipse across the room to wash your hands in the bathroom.
Amenities: WiFi is free, and worked quite well. We didn't use the spa or any of the other facilities. We did have breakfast, which includes two options: coffee, juice, and pastry for 10 euros, or a buffet including fruit, cereal, pastry, eggs, and cold cuts for 20 euros - both a reasonable deal and of good quality compared with what you'd get at most cafes.
Service: Staff members were genuinely helpful and accommodating. Check-in was fast and pleasant, and the woman at the front desk volunteered a map and highlighted interesting areas of the city to visit. Staff did their best to help when we asked for late check-out on our departure.
Overall, the Hotel de Seze is a great boutique property, and was the perfect base for our time in Bordeaux.

A beautiful hotel in an excellent location for exploring Bordeaux. We stayed here as part of a wine tasting weekend. We were in a superior room which was located at the corner of the hotel with a wraparound balcony. A very comfortable bed. The toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom which was a little strange at first but we got used to it! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good, described as continental but apart from crossiants, ham, salamis and cheese, there was also eggs, bacon and sausages. Lovely coffee.
We used the spa which you have to book a time slot for and an additional cost but was much appreciated after a long day sightseeing or wine tasting.
We didn’t use the restaurant in the evening as we like to try different restaurants whilst away but there was the option if you so desired.
Would definitely recommend if you want somewhere a little special.

Hotel was good, as the service was pleasant but in a great location. The room was small but cosy, and the lunch was very good. However the 20 Euro pp Breakfast was very poor quality, and being asked to pay extra on top for a HOT boiled egg let the hotel down. In a boutique hotel the room coffee facilities was also disappointing (package of Nescafe) when other similar hotels offer Nespresso. Its the small details that make an average hotel great.

We experienced disturbing events at this hotel and have a duty to warn others. I’m a single mother who frequently travels with my young daughter. The Hotel Seze was well located and although the rooms were clearly not as advertised (no separated living room as advertised for Deluxe room, instant coffee, no refills), we did not complain since we contended and happy to be in Bordeaux. After checkout, we requested a taxi to take us to the train station. Due to a manifestation, the taxi driver called back, advising that we meet him at a different location, a few blocks from the hotel. The clerk decided to cancel the taxi. When I objected indicating that we were happy to walk to meet the taxi, she reacted indifferently. When I asked her if she had another way for us to make it to the train station, she retorted that she didn’t like my tone. Yet I was conversing with her (no raised voice, not swearing, no insults, just stating that we needed to get to the station). Considering her cold reaction, we decided to simply leave in attempts to find the taxi ourselves. But when we reached the hotel doors, we found them locked. Trying other doors with same results. We were locked in. When I solicited a waiter to help, he answered that the front desk clerk had the button to release the doors. Apparently, this hotel prevents displeased clients from leaving by locking all doors. We repeatedly requested the doors to be unlock to let us reach our taxi. The manager arrived indicating that we should talk to resolve this miscommunication. Our attempts to explain that we had to go to the train station were only met with ignorance. We were held captive for over 10 minutes before they finally unlocked the doors. It is clear that the actions of the clerk were deliberate to prevent us from leaving for our train. We obviously missed our train and had to purchase new tickets at over 200 E. I do believe that these actions were unlawful and strongly advise hotel management to take responsibility and revise their dispute resolution process to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Holding clients against their will is NOT legal, even in France!

Dear Madam Sirois Sophie, First of all thank you for taking the time to write about your experience in our Hotel, please know that guest satisfaction is really important for us, we do all we can to meet our guests expectations. We took well note of your comment and we shouldn't have closed the main door while you were leaving, however the other door was open so we don't understand how we could have "held you captive". It never was our intetion, we just wanted to clarify this misunderstanding with you. At first you booked an uber to the train station, and it got cancelled because of the strike. Then you asked us a taxi. We called several companies but because of the strike taxis were unable to come until the hotel. All this time we tried to find a way out with you, but unfortunately nothing could be done, we also are suffuring the consequences of this strike. The way you spoke to our receptionnist when you understood that we were helpless concerning your matter is unacceptable. Our receptionnist couldn't talk to you because you kept saying to her to "shut up" it is intolerable. Our receptionnist was just tring to do the right thing we didn't wanted to have a customer leaving in such a mood, we did our best to help you but your behavior was unspeakable. You waited a few minutes before leaving, still we are really sorry that you missed your train, but we won't take the blame for it. We would have loved your stay to end otherwise. We hope that you enjoyed your time in Bordeaux anyway. Best regards Guest relations Barbara - Front desk Manager

What a great find (and a deal for the cost)! Hotel de Seze exceeded my expectations. The staff is very polite and helpful, the location is great, and the decor is beautiful. My only constructive comment is that the toilet was in a separate room from the sink (and shower) - a sink next to the toilet would be helpful. I will 100% return to this hotel.

Extremely well located, only a few feet away from the opera, this hotel is an excellent spot to discover Bordeaux. Numerous shopping and dining venues nearby. What struck me the most was the bed: fabulous and comfortable, I did not sleep that well in a while, not even in my own home! Also very well decorated, although the bedroom was a bit small. The only two things that I disliked a bit were the separate toilet from the bathroom and the breakfast cost. 20 EUR for breakfast is quite expensive for France, especially as although the choice was good, it was buffet only with no table service or additional items on demand from the kitchen. But eh, the sleep quality was sooooooooo good that I could overlook these things!

Great hotel in the heart of Bordeaux. Really friendly staff and nice big rooms. The hotel is located just a block away from the main tram station so you cagey anywhere in the area quickly. A five minute walk to St. Catherine’s street and the old town. Able to walk all around Bordeaux from this location. Parking is adjacent to the hotel is you have a car and is very easy. The rooms are well appointed, clean and good size for France. It has a restaurant and Bar and while we did not eat there it was always crowded. We would definitely come back to this location when we return to Bordeaux.

I generally don't post average reviews as I feel there are enough keyboard warriors out there at the moment.
The location is superb for this 4* hotel. Beautiful reception area. I had a single room and the bed was very comfy with a fab shower and bathroom. For 2 nights, it cost €420 and to me, this is steep but if everything is good at the hotel, I don't mind paying it.
The first thing that truly irked me was upon my arrival. I speak fluent French with, what other French people have told me, is a good French accent. I greeted the receptionist in French, she replied I'm English, I responded in French and she replied in English. Why?? If someone is clearly making an effort to speak your language, it is incredibly rude to continue to speak English back to them. The same thing happened at breakfast. I spoke French, the lady laughed (actually laughed!) and then replied in English. I am not saying my French is perfect but, other French people who I speak to a few times per week, have told me my French and accent are good. So to be actually laughed at when enquiring "comment-allez vous?" was such an incredibly rude thing for your staff member to do. I am not impressed.
I had booked breakfast with my room. The selection is poor. The hot food was cold and inedible. The aforementioned staff member took my order for coffee, then disappeared after she had made it, then gave it to me quite a while later when it was stone cold.
For the price, location is good, the room was small but nice and comfortable. Food is poor, breakfast is poor and some staff are rude. I have already made plans to return to Bordeaux as my time here is not long enough. On my next visit, I will stay elsewhere.

In Google Maps it says it has parking (even with charger for electric vehicles, that we had) but it has not own parking, and of course not charger.
The receptionist said it had a Nespresso “with capsules” but it was only a kettle (looks like Nespresso is only for suites).
The spa is fine but it is not a pool but a jacuzzi and it costs 30€.
Standard rooms and twin beds are too small for 2 adults, specially if not a couple.
And you can not call a gym a toilet-sized room with 2 bicycles…

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write us a comment, thanks to you we took notice of the mistakes on our Google page. We are currently tring to modify those informations. We are sorry that our facilities didn't matched your needs. Indeed we only have nespresso machines in our suites. The other room have a kettle with tea and instant coffee. In our spa we will find a sauna, a steam room, a sensorial shower and a jacuzzi. Indeed we don't have a pool. Concerning our room size, it is specified on our website, all the size are mentionned. We have 3 catégories of double room and suites, there is bigger room to match your needs. Best regards Barbara - Front desk Manager

No way! You will barely fit you and your husband. Book elsewhere for more space.
I’m sorry for the delay . I’m not sure about that option.
Yes they will supply iron and board. Just ring reception.
Yes, several, and there is a restaurant and bar in the lobby.
Taxi a easy and not too pricey. I personally wouldn't tram with luggage.
