Detailed Reviews
Booked this budget hotel in Bordeaux for a visit with a friend. It was reasonably good valuable for money. The rooms were basic and not too spacious. There was an en suite. No hairdryer was available, it had a tv but only radio channels and a tourist info channel available on there. I opted for breakfast which was taken near reception each morning between 7.30am and 9.30am. Hotel was central so location was good. Wifi was available but I didn't use it. On our last day Bordeaux was on lockdown because of the Corona Virus so food was served on a tray to be eaten in your room. Breakfast was continental with no hot food. A no frills hotel with a normal Ibis a 100 metres away. Small room decorated basically, quite clean, no extras but location was good and it served its purpose

Stayed 3 nights, bed comfortable which is really all we required. 20 minute stroll to the rugby ground to the west and the centre with all the shops a 10 minute walk east
For some reason their are no tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms , but there is a great coffee and cake shop next to the tram stop a 2 minute walk east along the main road, that opens at 6.30 7 days a week.
We had a 5th floor room so no road noise, can't comment about lower floors.

The biggest asset of this hotel is its location! The tram stop “Palais de Justice” is barely 100 m away, where tram A not only takes you to and from the airport, but also to the heart of the historic center. The location is also ideal for those who want to explore the center on foot. There is a Carrefour Express and an Intermarché within walking distance.
We stayed in 816 on the 8th floor (there are 11 in total). Little noise from the street - the sound insulation is excellent.
Good mattress - not too hard, not too soft. Pillows maybe a bit too fluffy for us. Bathroom small but neat.
Anyone who sleeps at least 2 nights and chooses not to have the room cleaned and therefore does not want fresh towels, will receive 2 tokens per couple that can be exchanged for a drink in the bar.
Very nice coffee for breakfast, otherwise basic but sufficient. Breakfast costs €12.60 per person. You cannot have breakfast for that price in the area, especially if you want to eat fruit juice, 2 cups of coffee, fruit and unlimited baguette. The toppings are limited to cooked ham and Emmenthal and Camembert or Brie, fried bacon and scrambled eggs. Also mini coffee cakes, chocolate, jam, honey and granola.
We stayed there for 3 nights, which is ideal for visiting this city. We bought a City Pass for 48 hours at the tourism department, which allows you to make unlimited use of public transport, among other things. The tram network is very efficient so we made extensive use of it.
The pass also gives you free access to many museums, of which Cité du vin and the basin des Lumières are highly recommended. In addition, the pass offers the choice between a guided walk through the city, a tour on an electric train, a tour on a double-decker bus and an hour and a half cruise on the Garonne. We chose the latter and found a very good guide who, after her French explanation, also gave the same explanation in English perfectly.
Unfortunately, the “Miroir d'Eau” in which the stock exchange building is beautifully reflected, was not yet active; When inquiring with the tourism department, it appears that this will only come into effect from the end of April.
Bordeaux is definitely recommended for those who love beautiful architecture, friendly people and good food!

Just don't bother - very loud building works, rude staff who refuse to help. Take your business somewhere else. The breakfast is also overpriced for what it is, and the reception staff did nothing to help the noise problem.

The hotel location is great, easy to be in the city center in a few minutes, and there is a direct bus to/from the airport. We were there for a conference trip for 5 nights. The staff was very polite and helpful with providing information, iron, and room arrangements.
Breakfast was mediocre with limited options. There were lots of fruit options but they were either unripe or already off. There was no fridge in the room. Also, there was a party at the hotel on a Wednesday night (perhaps because it was the night before Bastille day) which made it a bit noisy and difficult to sleep.

+1
The hotel is located a few meters from the Palais de justice stop on tram line A which connects the airport to the city. With a ten minute walk you can reach the historic center. You can also use tram A which takes you to the center in just a few stops. In the area there are supermarkets, cafes and a shopping center right behind the hotel. I stayed in room 717 on the seventh floor. There are three elevators. A very valid aspect is that the elevator only works by placing the room's magnetic key on a plate. This way no stranger can sneak in. The room is very small, with a French bed, a desk and a small corner to hang clothes and store suitcases. There is a TV on one wall. The bathroom is tiny. It's really hard to move. Only two small towels are supplied. Upon request they gave me two additional towels. There is soap, shower gel and hair dryer available to customers. Excellent cleanliness not only in the room (thanks to the ladies who clean up every day), but also in the common areas. The breakfast is excellent: both savory and sweet. It is in self-service mode: You take a tray and cutlery and there is a large counter with food. It clears itself. There are hot and cold drinks. Wi-Fi is free and without password. There is a luggage storage service in the hall. There is also the possibility of using the toilet on floor -1 for guests. There is also a shoe cleaning machine (convenient for after rain). At the reception the staff is kind and polite. The guys also speak English and Spanish very well. There is the possibility of having dinner, but by reservation. Price a little expensive for the quality of the services offered. If you adapt and give priority to the convenience of travel (airport transfer and city center route) the hotel is ideal.

Do not stay here if your expectations are anything other than a tiny bare bones room with an old mattress. Amenities like a tv, air conditioning, functioning lights, and a toilet and shower are true purely as a matter of fact, but in reality they are non existent for the purposes of enjoyment or relaxation for a holiday in Bordeaux.
First room we were given had a ridiculous amount of hair on the bed and walls were smudged with dirt all over. Second room was cleaner but still full of smudges and things light dirty light switches and a weakest of lighting in the rooms. The poor guy at reception was the ONLY one here in the late afternoon until the next day. How does one person answer the phone, check people in, and manage a 250 room hotel alone?! How is that a thing?
Immediately booked another hotel and taking a loss on the non-refundable second night.
You’ve been warned.

We had to get our room changed on arrival as they had allocated a tiny room with the bed against the wall and a sofa, we had booked a room with a double and a single bed. Was told, 'OK, we can change you' reluctantly. Then the room had no air conditioning, we're told it is not functioning in winter. However it was 18-20 degrees outside during our stay so we had to have the window open all night, causing no sleep because this is central Bordeaux, near a main tram junction and hospital, never mind generally noise all night. Also our room was over the main entrance so we also had loud talking and cigarette smoke all night as people went out to smoke. Two stars for location. Would not stay here again.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel this weekend. Saturday evening was screwed because we were late for all evening activities. We came back from the day trip tired, we had to change and hurry up to be on time for the last evening in Bordeaux activities. The door lock didn’t work as it was dead. The receptionists came to open the door with the knife!! No technician in the hotel. It took about an hour for them to go back and forth with knives to try to open the door. We were stuck because couldn’t get into the room and leave the hotel because we had all our stuff in the room. When I asked to talk to the manager they said ‘we have no manager. You can wait till the next morning’. I asked so how are you gonna fix this situation? We missed dinner and tour!’ And receptionist said ‘you have two options: wait outside or you wait next to the room until we open the door then take your stuff and move to another room’. In the morning when I asked for the manager the receptionist said the same ‘no manager in place’.
It’s inappropriate for staff to communicate like that with the hotel guests and leaving them with this kind of negative experience, not even offering to have a coffee or a drink as a hotel treat while we were waiting as they said it would take some time may be more than an hour.

We parked on the curb arrived and realized there’s no ramp for luggage at the budget. You go through the front door of the Ibis red and continue into the lobby of the budget next door but inside. People were very nice. Young tiny brunette girl, Maeva, penned out a complete itinerary for us to walk and tram in Bordeaux. So nice. She lugged our baggage into a locked room for us before we could get our room.
The rooms are tiny. Even though we booked a triple with a double bed, we got one bath and one face towel. There was a tv that was unplugged, no outlet next to the beds. I replugged the tv and looked way up under it to find one electric outlet. The only other one is in the hall outside an unnecessary inner door that serves the bedroom AND the bathroom. Just a normal bathroom door would make it easier to use the only other electric outlet on the hall wall. Luckily we have several extension cords that we tripped over during our stay. The wifi on floor 5 is too weak to use, but the views and distance from street noise is nice.
The breakfast is bad, very crowded, pastries, processed cereal, waffle, crepes. No cheese, no eggs at all.
The parking is around the block under the hotel. It’s pretty roomy for a European parking lot. Interior elevators take you to the lobby.
For €75 and parking price, it’s a deal. Don’t expect anything extra.
