Detailed Reviews
We stayed here as part of a group tour. Rooms were a nice size, clean, and comfortable. AC was not functioning during our stay in late September so the room was a bit stuffy. Rooms have a coffee marker, safe, minibar, and free WiFi. There is underground parking and a fitness center. Unfortunately, if you are interested in being close to the city center, you may want to look elsewhere. Plan on a good half hour to walk downtown or go to the tram stop which is about 10 minutes from the hotel. Staff at the hotel said that it would be a 15 minute drive to the very center of Bordeaux. There is not a lot in the immediate area of the hotel but we did find a small restaurant a short distance away.

A good hotel with parking which was not easy to find in the city. That said it is a bit far out with a 10 min walk to the river and another 25-30 min to the centre of town. Also the main restaurant area of the town is another 5-10 mins.
Rooms were good as were the staff. Bar and restaurant also good with excellent service.

We stayed here for a RWC game, the hotel is 'nice' but the rooms are so dark inside. I know you don't visit somewhere for the room, but they were pretty off putting. Our bathroom was fine but tiles were falling off our friends bathroom walls. It was expensive for what it was, it is also a good 15 minutes walk to the tram/riverfront. Breakfast was very busy, they kept running out of food/plates/glasses and were very slow to replace anything. I would stay closer to the center of Bordeaux if we visit again.

Careful when booking with ALL Accor - they cancelled our hotel 3 days before travelling, then tried to put us in this hotel, a long way from the center. The room offerred was awful - dark, dingy and grubby. Staff very unhelpful, so we immediately cancelled and were lucky to pick up a room near the center. Asked for their complaints process and got nothing of note back. Very poor for such a big company.

Tram at 7' from the hotel. City bike hire at 4'. Surroundings are not attractive. 3 storage hotel in so called typical Bordeaux style. In lobby good working area. Good meeting facilities. Nice outside garden. Typical hotel room. Shower in the bath. Wardrobe too small and not so handy. Safe is installed too high for small people.
Friendly staff. Breakfast is good. Lunch was excellent especially the fish.

Convenient for Bordeaux, about 30x minutes from the old town with parking & EV charging stations, a bonus for us. Comfortable rooms & helpful staff. Restaurant reasonable, limited choice but tasty. Breakfasts good offering a cooked selection as well as the usual coffee & croissants!

Nice hotel on a main street located a 15 minute walk from the main tourist area in city center. Not much to do within 3 blocks. Modern large room with king bed, fridge, and free wifi. Very nice breakfast buffet with lots of hot and cold items. On our 2nd night, we had a very nice group dinner at the hotel. Food was great at all meals.

Huge hotel with no parking. This place reminds me of a resort without the beach and sand. It also has a weird smell of cleaner everywhere. The room as pretty average, and since the hotel was quite large, it was very quiet for a change.

We have arrived from Ireland for 3 nights, 23 of us for the Rugby World Cup. Our team is staying in this hotel.
We arrived back to the hotel tonight at 11.47 as residents and we could not order a drink! we were told they close at midnight, but it wasn't midnight. 23 of us are paying an expense rate. It is unbelievable that we should be treated this way. As Irish supporters we are famous worldwide for our fun and good humour, without trouble or drama. They have lost considerable income, but my complaint is the manner in which we were treated regarding this issue.
If I had the option to change hotel I would instantly.
A DISGRACE!!

Dear Bryan Hamilton Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate that you and your friends chose our Mercure Bordeaux Château Chartrons Hotel to stay at during your Rugby World Cup visit. At Mercure, our goal is to ensure that every guest has an enjoyable stay. We are sorry to hear that you were not looked after when you returned late at night. The hotel bar's closing time is midnight, but we understand that it can be frustrating when service is not available when you expect it. We hope you had a positive experience in Bordeaux. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back soon! Géraldine Chateau Assistant Manager
