Le Palais Gallien Hôtel & Spa is often commended for its spacious and elegantly designed rooms that blend modern amenities with historical charm. The hotel's cleanliness and attentive service frequently receive accolades from guests, who appreciate the pristine condition of both the rooms and facilities.
Nestled in a serene neighborhood, its prime location offers easy access to local attractions and dining. While the hotel's atmosphere and amenities, including a spa and fitness center, are popular among guests, some question the value given the premium pricing.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
We were greeted warmly at Le Palais Gallien and that was the beginning of a wonderful four nights in Bordeaux. It was our first time in Bordeaux, so we relied on the staff to help us navigate the city and find great restaurants. Audrey and the rest of the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. We used the hotel parking, and enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Our room overlooked the pool (the Stephan Zweig room) and had all the comforts we needed while making it through jet lag. The location was excellent for walking everywhere. I’m not sure we have ever had the type of service from hotel staff that we experienced with Le Palais Gallien.

We had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous hotel for 5 nights and met all the staff. From the hotel manager to the reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff, everyone went out of their way to provide exceptional customer experience.
The rooms are very spacious, clean and well appointed. Mattresses, bedding and pillows were very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure and the A/C was working very well.
Breakfast had great variety of cold cuts, cheeses, smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, various sweet pies, variety of croissants and baguettes. Beautiful setting for breakfast inside and outside, including service with a smile.
The location was not in the center of town, but next to a beautiful garden. We loved it being more quite than other hotels, and still within 10-15 minutes walking distance to everything.
We really enjoyed our stay and cant wait to come back!

We booked this hotel for just one night. We took a spontaneous trip out of Paris and were going to move on if we did not enjoy the city or hotel. We loved both the hotel and the city! We promptly booked additional nights after our first night. The team were friendly and courteous. Their English was great and they were here to make sure we had a great stay.
The staff at this 5 star boutique make this stay exemplary and memorable. They will open doors for you. They will smile and make sure your requests are met. Most importantly, they are genuine and take pride in their hotel.
The concierge has excellent recommendations. The room was large for European standards and the nightly turn down service was excellent with nougats placed every night. They were generous with complimentary water bottles refreshed each night. The pool was warm and a refreshing day to cool down or get some exercise in before a day on the town
Bordeaux is such a lovely town and this hotel was the perfect base to explore it. If I were ever so lucky to visit this town again, we would stay here in a heartbeat.

We were super fortunate to have discovered this oasis of luxury and delightful customer experience. Beautiful boutique hotel, with contemporary tastefully furnished rooms and an uber cool pool. Perhaps the most amazing part of our stay was the fantastic hospitality of the staff. After check in over the six days we were here not once were we asked for our room number (or rather name) and didn’t have to sign for anything. They just knew who we were. Breakfast was elegant and the omelets delightfully French. Perhaps they could improve their room service menu which would then eliminate all reasons to step outside the hotel.

The hotel has excellent service! (due to covid-19 the wine-cellar could not deliver the wines to the hotel, called the hotel who sent staff to pick it up instead so we did not have to carry the wine around) - Truly excellent service!
Sweet touches with calling beforehand to enquire if there are any special needs, sweet welcome in the room etc.
Great facilities, amazing garden with a brilliant pool you don't want to leave. Room was spacious and cool with a little balcony.(a small thing and depending on taste: Not a fan of not having closed bathroom, with shower in the room and little privacy for being "in the bathroom".)
To conclude, we wished we had stayed longer!

Small exquisit hotel. Beautifully designed quiet room and bath room. Delightful bedding and delicious breakfast. Very helpful receptionists, gave good advice where to walk and have dinner. The hotel offers parking + 20€, almost a necessity in Bordeaux with its narrow streets and many cars if you are driving.

A small jerk quiet while remaining close to all transport.
My husband and I stayed on our honeymoon, as soon as the check-in we were perfectly received. We had the surprise of the Ranking and the suite beautifully prepared by the housekeeping and room service (rose petals and fresh fruit).
Only a few fine works are missing from the authors whose names were used to name the suites (Molière, La Fontaine ..) to make available to guests.
The spa is essentially accessible by appointment for a treatment. This makes the space more exclusive, certainly, since we have the privileged use for 30min before the treatment, but it does not allow to enjoy enough. This same time, if granted after the treatment, would be more appreciable (indeed, we prefer to appear clean and dry for a treatment). The spa experts are attentive, attentive and deliver a beautiful service.
Breakfast will satisfy you with its wide choice of cold buffet and customizable options if you want a continental breakfast.
On the morning of the second day a gentleman (certainly a manager) seemed a little tense, a little too zealous to provide impeccable service, in contrast to the general atmosphere of the place: very zen. The young woman who welcomed us both mornings during our stay is nevertheless charming, smiling, inviting and did not refuse absolutely to accommodate my request for a triple espresso!
Before Check-out, don't miss the Gallien Palace, a stone's throw from the Inn.
We had a short stay but it was memorable, thanks to the whole team, we will definitely stay again at the Palais Gallien.

We asked for a quiet room and given one two metres from the pool where there were no restrictions on use 24 x7. We were told this was an upgraded room.

We chose the hotel because it had a pool which we thought would be great for the kids. It worked very well as the pool was open 24h and the kids even did a night swim. The building is beautiful as well. Our room was a duplex that fit the four of us well. The room was well kept although the turn down service was a bit odd as they didn’t clean the floor mat or fix the towels in the bathroom. The WiFi was very disappointing as it barely worked and kicked you off all the time.
Our major disappointment with the hotel was the driver they booked for us for a wine tour. We had a car but decided to give it up when they said they could get us a driver and we figured it would be easier. We had a tight time window to do the tour (still about 5 hours) and we’re extremely disappointed when the driver showed up a half hour late because the hotel had booked him to do a train pickup and he was struggling to find the passengers. The hotel was apologetic and sent us a half bottle of champagne as an apology but we missed going to the town of Saint Emilion as a result and still had to pay 390 EUR.
The location was OK but most things you did have to walk about 15 minutes to. The intercontinental was probably the optimal location. Still we would stay here again with the nice pool scene and balcony we had that made it not feel like a big city. However we would not use the wine driver again. Lastly, you should DEFINITELY eat at the restaurant. Food is a big part of why we travel and we found the Bordeaux scene hit and miss. We thought the restaurant on site was probably our best meal of our four days. We did the set lunch and they accommodated our kids and our need to eat quickly before our train.
