The Premier Inn Swindon North Hotel garners appreciation for its cleanliness and cozy beds, although calls for bathroom updates are not uncommon. The hotel's amenities, including the ample parking and inviting pub, receive positive remarks, yet guests have noted the lack of air conditioning and a general need for modernization. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness are frequently praised, contributing to the hotel's quaint and rustic atmosphere. Nevertheless, opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the hotel economical, while others feel improvements are necessary to enhance their experience.

Fantastic stay
We stayed here for the Christmas period so we could visit family.
The welcome from the team was fantastic so helpful and make us feel very welcome.
When we got into the room there was little packs on the beds for the kids with a Christmas book and a torch.
We then found you had not missed the adults out and we had chocolate. Thank you the kids loved there little bags.
The stay was great lovely clean big room thank you and I am sure we will be back.

The hotel was just perfect for what we required as we was visiting for a family birthday locally.
The staff were friendly and polite and also helpful.
Room was perfect for our needs although the tea bags didn't taste very nice when a brew was made.
Breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was exceptional the price was unbelievable for the amount you could eat and every part of the full English was cooked just right.
Also the staff in the restaurant were extremely pleasant and polite top class even !
Would defiantly stay here again well done all.

We have stayed in a lot of different premier Inns and this one is by far the worst I've ever stayed in.
Although being marked as ready when we checked in the room was not ready, none of the beds were made up and it was in a mess. We had had a long trip down and just wanted to get in and relax The lady on reception asked the cleaners to hurry up and get it sorted for us whilst we waited in the pub nextdoor.

After getting in to the room we found it to be old and tatty and needed some serious updating. There was what appeared to be poo on the bathroom floor which my husband cleaned up. The shower tiles are mouldy in places, paint peeling around the ceiling, stain mark around the plug hole and the taps were really stiff to turn on and off.

The TV didn't work particularly well, remote was useless and the hdmi socket in the wall didn't work. I have never seen a hdmi socket in a premier Inn before so was pleased I'd be able to connect my laptop up to watch a film. Very disappointed.

Our first night was less than relaxing as being in room 1 we had to deal with people coming in and out at all hours slamming doors and being less than quiet. On our second night I bought this to the attention of staff at the desk. They said they'd pass it on the the later manager. Whether she did or not I don't know but the noise was worse on the second night than the first. We have a daughter with additional needs that we have to medicate for her to settle, we have a window for the medication to work. If not settled by then we have a real struggle so getting her to go to sleep due to the noise was a nightmare, I did explain this to the lady on reception when I complained. The bed was not the most comfortable either when normally we sleep really well at premier Inn.

Worst breakfast we've ever had too. Very limited choice compared to what we are used to with premier Inn. Coffee was ready made in a thermal dispenser but was luke warm. Very disappointing.
This is the second premier Inn we've stayed in in Swindon. The Swindon west one is a million times better and only about 10 minutes away!!!

The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious but we did not feel comfortable in the Cold Harbour pub/restaurant because they provide a self-service breakfast which is an unhygienic practice where infections are easily picked up from shared use of tongs and picking up crockery and food items. If I had known they had reverted to this practice, I would have cancelled our booking and moved to a hotel with higher hygiene standards. It was also noticeable that just over half of the guests wore face masks so that also made me feel very vulnerable and for this reason also, I would not book with Premier Inn in the future.

I’ve stayed in many premier inns for the past three years, mainly though work and in London or Harrogate, from experience of this I thought a premier inn would be a safe bet for taking my daughter to for one night for a shopping trip.
We are living through a pandemic and there are signs up throughout the hotel saying how clean the hotel and guests need to be, an expectation that Is not achievable staying in a room here. I have never seen this much dirt in a bathroom before and on complaint I was told that these are stains and not dirt. View the photos and decide if you feel comfortable, I even found socks under the bed so the rooms are not cleaned between guests. So disappointed in such an established chain, will never return to any from fear of the lack of any cleaning which is so vital now.

We stayed in Swindon for my husbands birthday weekend. Only on the 2nd day did we find out we would not have our room cleaned, bins emptied or extra toilet roll. We had to go to reception to ask for these things, by day three the room looked messy and not to the standard we normally have.

While I know Covid has turned the world upside down, room cleaning should not stop, but more essential one would think. In addition it should be clear when you book that you are getting just a room you will be expected to stock up and clean yourself.

We feel let down. Also only one serving staff at breakfast, the poor lady was so busy she looked stressed and again not the service we normally get.

😞

Hi Anna, Thanks for your message. We're really disappointed to hear about your stay and apologise for your room not being cleaned. We are trying to keep our rooms at minimal contact and you would need to ask for the room to be cleaned for longer stays. We will however pass your comments over to our Management team to take into consideration moving forward. We hope to restore your faith with us during any future stays. Thanks, Mo

This premier inn is let down by a rude manager named Steven. Rather then helping guests, he was dismissive, rude & patronising to a number of guests who was staying at this hotel. Rooms are poor, shower extremely poor literally minimal shower pressure. Room has holes in the flooring and woodwork coming apart. Bed feels likes it's gunna collapse as it's very wobbly but the attitude from the duty manager here named Steven is terrible and needs to be looked into by the Hotel Manager & Regional Hotel Manager

The rooms were good , clean tidy and good value for money, check in staff they were nice and polite,
Single beds especially (truckle bed I would imagine) was great the kids slept perfectly -
I only marked the stay down because of the morning staff at breakfast,

Here are my points

We went over for breakfast we waited 10 mins before any one saw us ,
For the lady to say (you haven’t paid - which I had)
So she then went over back to the main hotel and was gossiping (which the children by that time was bored and playing up )
For her to come back and say oh you have paid - I will get someone to seat you and the whole dilemma started again.
Lack of organisation!

Breakfast when we finally sat down the receptionist put a family of 2 adults and 3 children on the smallest table possible for a family of 4?
Why I have no idea because just to the other side there was a huge table empty !

Food was ok however when the children asked for maple syrup with their pancakes they were given strawberry jam and I didn’t want to complain and we were given a juice each and we waited for our breakfast 30 mins so we had frankly drank that and wanted another drink but felt we couldn’t ask for another

It was really was a headache in the morning.

Overall I recommend staying at the premier inn it’s a good location clean and tidy, but get breakfast in another location.

I stayed here for two nights. Staff are welcoming. Easy check in. The receptionist that checked me in said that as I was a female travelling alone she would not tell me my room number over the counter due to security reasons and my safety but I could find it on the card. Nice touch. The room was dated and very poor lighting. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is near a busy road but I slept well even though I was at the front of the building which faces the car park. Cold Harbour next door is friendly and the breakfast was lovely.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Room was clean however the hotel is in dire need of fixing its bedroom doors. No quit closing mechanism so I was wakened several times 2 of the 3 nights I stayed at the hotel, after 10pm and before 6am with the doors into the rooms slamming. Although social distancing was in place the corridors were too narrow to enforce and other residents were wandering around without masks. Upon check in I asked if the roads were safe for running locally and the receptionist commented that I could drive to a park, and she didn’t know the area so couldn’t tell me. Upon checkout I raised the above and that receptionist just gave a superficial- oh that’s a shame.
I decided to email and share my feedback to an email address on the premier inn website- it bounced back. After a few more minutes of hunting through the website I found a form- submitted my feedback and still heard nothing.

I will not be using premier inn again.
