I booked a one night stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon, when I arrived late in the evening it was very busy in the lobby, it took a while be be attended to. I was welcomed as a Diamond Elite member and I was upgraded to a Queen Deluxe Room.
The room was spacious with a hugely comfortable bed with very nice bedding, tea and coffee facilities were provided and the TV had a good range of channels, however the cables had been disconnected prior to my stay. The bathroom was of good sizeand had a bath/shower combination and a range of toiletries were provided.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot and cold options with items being replenished frequently. It was a very good stay at Doubletree Swindon. Getting to/from the hotel without a car was fine with buses running frequently into Swindon / McArthurGlen Outlet Centre from a bus stop five minutes walk from the hotel.

I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in Swindon for three nights after prematurely checking out of another Doubletree close by due to the cleanliness of the property.
The hotel is located just of the M4, easy to find, plenty of parking at £3.00 per night and a warm welcome without the usual warm cookie on arrival.
I had the King room at this property and was of a good size, well decorated with the furniture well placed however; it was let down by the small things. i.e. hair inside bath and on the shower curtain, small amount of mould around the bath handle, extractor vent required cleaning.
The bed was a bit creaky but very comfortable and I slept well.
Nice shower with a constant flow of hot water and the towels were fluffy. Additional Towels, soaps, tea and coffee can be had from a station opposite the checking desk.
The room had a small fridge, tea and coffee making facility.
There is not room service however; you can either have your dinner at lobby bar or collect your meal on a tray placed near the checking desk for consumption inside your room. The curry was recommended on checking in and I can say, I had the same meal for two nights in a row.
Breakfast is pre-booked for collection at reception and is served in a Hilton bag and contain an apple, a drink, water, bar and a Muffin. On request, you are able to order a bacon sandwich.
Had some issues on checking out, despite asking on three separate occasions for the payment to be taken from a different credit card, as card held on my HHonour account is locked for security purpose.
I will definitely be staying as this hotel and would recommend it.

My hubby and I stayed here for one night, the hotel has taken great Covid precautions, plenty of parking available, I was disappointed to find I didn’t get my warm welcome cookie ☹️. Every staff member we spoke to was helpful and friendly. The rooms are sealed after cleaning so you can see no one has entered the room, we had a Queen deluxe room on the ground/first floor which overlooks the garden bit sadly looked neglected, the room was very spacious and clean and pleasantly surprised by 2 complementary bottles of water for us as well as tea and coffee making facilities 😊. Was nice and bright in the bathroom the bed was hard and uncomfortable and noisy, the pillows looked lovely and plump but as soon as you used them they went very flat so neither hubby or I slept well The room above was very noisy with loud music when we arrived approx 15:30 we complained to management and they contacted the culprit and got it sorted and all was quite until about 10pm then there was lots of banging, shouting and crying and general noise which wasn’t great but finally managed to get to sleep until we we were woken up at 06:30 by more banging and shouting, we gave up trying to go back to sleep at 07:30. We had our evening meal in the hotel which hubby enjoyed but my meal half was good and tasted good but the other half did not taste right I couldn’t eat it pudding was nice tho. Breakfast at the hotel there was a one way system in use, small selection of hot drinks, only orange or apple juice, choice of two cereals, pain au chocolate and croissants with jam and marmalade and good choice for cooked breakfast which was plated for you after saying what you wanted. The lockdown has obviously effected the industry so understand the reduced facilities and menu.

Dear Guest thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback with us and delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Guest comments regarding bedding are generally very favourable, but we recognise that preferences are quite personal, and we will make firmer pillows available on request. We were sorry to learn that you were disturbed by noise nearby which unfortunately is not within our control, however, we have noted on your guest profile to allocate you a quiet room for future stays. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. warm regards cliffard

First of all my husband and I booked this hotel through their website as it offered leisure facilities and a spa, including swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. As parents of two young children we had arranged an overnight babysitter to have some much needed time away together. What a waste of time and money! When booking we upgraded to have a king room with extra large bed and all that jazz. Upon checking in we asked where the leisure facilities were and a member of desk staff told us the gym could be located on level two. we asked about the swimming pool and they explained they hadn't had a pool for five years. She gave us our cookies and sent us to our room. First shock! the room was a standard room with two beds joined together, we were both disappointed both by the lack of spa and room so my husband went to express his disappointment. As compensation, they upgraded us to a junior suite - a nice gesture! However, the air conditioning did not work so either room was too hot or freezing cold no middle ground. Also where the suite was located meant all other guests had to go past meaning wer had minimal sleep due to the footfall of noise and doors slamming as none of them had soft closing! We had booked dinner in the resturant a three course dinner, starters were delicous, i had to send my main back as there was so much chilli contained in the dish that nothing could be tasted and mouth went completely numb. The staff were helpful and the chef cooked another dish - this was the only positive of the stay. some point during the night the hotel had posted our invoice under the door and had charged us for the upgrade - after a poor night sleep on a bed that was rock hard and pillows that had to be changed due to allergy to feathers and replaced with solid foam, we were very upset and angry as wellas sleep deprived. Husband spoke to desk staff when we checked out and said we would not be paying for the upgrade! I would never stay in this hotel again and would suggest others use the premier inn situated across the road as they guarantee a good nights sleep!

We were on a rare overnight stay to hit the outlet shops. We didn’t check in until 7pm and their Covid measures were good. They checked temperature on entry and the enforcement to wear mask was good. There were sanitisers everywhere and the rooms had seals to show they’ve been sanitised. We knew the hotel might be quiet so we chose the Beefeater across the road for dinner and didn’t get settled until after 10pm. So I sat on the bed and it creaked but didn’t think much. When my husband sat on his side of the bed however the bed just creaked on every move! It was 1130pm - were we prepared to get dressed and pack everything again to move rooms or just hope it isn’t too bad? The mattress itself was comfy but the wooden bedstead must haven been broken as it creaked do loudly every time someone turns over. It must be after 3am when I finally managed to get some sleep! Breakfast had to be booked so we went at 930 to be given one slice of bacon, one sausage, lukewarm scrambled eggs, baked beans and toasts all in one plate! This was served with a carton of juice and tea/coffee. There was no room on the order sheet to specify number of items or choices - you ticked hot or continental breakfast. The quality was not great either. I then spoke to Reception about the bed after breakfast. I explained that the room should not be sold again until the bed is replaced. The lady was apologetic enough but offered no discount or anything.

This is the first time we've stayed in a hotel since lockdown. Hilton has taken some great steps, to ensure safety, and comfort of the guests. At the time of writing (August 2020), you have to wear a mask in the lobby and corridors, but not in the dining area.
Our room was cleaned and then sealed, so we were the first people to step in there after it had been cleaned. The friendly lady at the desk warned us that there might be just one towel in there – which was the case; I guess this is so extra washing is eliminated. You could help yourself to towels, extra soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, which were all in the lobby. They had two little baskets of pens with labels on, used and unused, and hand sanitiser.
I noticed that complementary water was no longer given for members – again, I guess this is something to do with new measures.
The room itself was complete to usual Hilton high standards, with the best pillows ever made. Something I noticed, which normally isn't noticeable, but thanks to lockdown, and isolation, it was obvious – the water was so soft (softer than Welsh water anyway), and that combined with the great amenities, leave your skin feeling great!
Breakfast was lovely – no longer self-service for a full English, but you help yourself to cereal, and a choice of tea, coffee, or juice (now served in cartons).
A fab stays, and if you're at all worried about staying in a hotel after lockdown, Hilton will do everything to make you feel at home.

My partner and I unfortunately stayed here for 3 nights. One of the reasons we booked here was because it advertised free wifi, little did we know that the wifi was only free for Hilton Honors members. If you were not a Hilton Honors member you’d have to pay £15 per day for wifi.
Upon arriving in our room we quickly noticed how dated it appeared and how squeaky the bed was. We thought it would break from the slightest movement with the noise it made. The mattress was lumpy and hard making sleep difficult. Furthermore, the room was uncomfortably hot with the air conditioning system doing nothing to help. Note we stayed here in early January so why the room was so hot I’m not sure. We opted to open the window which could only be opened the tiniest bit therefore not helping the heat of the room.
The bathroom was clean and tidy however, the shower pressure and temperature was appalling! The shower would go from boiling hot to freezing without warning. It would be strong and then weak making for a shower just as uncomfortable as the nights sleep.
Additional complaints include the ridiculous price of laundry services and the inadequate lifts that seemed to be out of order more often than not.
If you’re looking for a quiet stay while away, opt for the premier inn just across the road as this hotel isn’t worth your money!

We stayed here in mid July following the easing of lockdown.
The stay started in a poor way, having checked in on the app confirming a 15:00 arrival, on arriving at 14:50 we were given our room key to find the room had not been services, unmade bed, pizza boxes on tables - very poor management. This did not give much confidence on their cleaning management regime.
That aside, they seem to have made a reasonable handle on the COVID situation. The room seemed clean, with bands around remote controls etc to say they have been cleaned (just hope that they have cleaned them thoroughly).
They had made a better stab at breakfast than some hotels I’ve stayed in since the easing, yes it’s in a bag (the restaurant still hadn’t reopened) but at least there was a mediocre bacon sandwich and (instant) coffee.
Regarding the room, the a/c was useless meaning an overly hot night.

Pros Very comfortable beds in the rooms Good showers and rooms seemed well maintained but not serviced during stay Evening set dinners were very good - we were well satisfied. Staff all seemed very friendly.
Cons Some of the CoVid restrictions understandable but none the less reduce the satisfaction. Not a lot of staff. Breakfast could be better - both quality of ingredients and organisation of orders. Drinks expensive but normal for hotels Technology in rooms quite poor. Old fashioned non HD TVs Wifi not free - 12.99 per day. Not acceptable in 2020. At least the mobile signal was good.

Appreciating there is a COVID embargo on at the moment so there is possible reduced staffing levels, no dining indoors and only tables outdoors this hotel could do more.
The second room I was allocated, the first being noisy next to the gym, was drab and tired. It looked like it was still moth balled, dusty places uncleared. Hotels have had long periods to address these things so it's quite frustrating. The double shower curtain in the bathroom looked like it had been there for decades. Worn and stained carpets in the room and corridors Car Parking charges for guest? £3.00 per night SURCHARGE rip off. Booking over the phone is tedious American DRAWL with repeated reassurance, "it's a busy hotel" and "nice location" when I asked local detail the answer wasn't available. Local people for local knowledge. Hilton Honours.........??
Breakfast delivered at reception on trays piled up with plates, hot & cold drinks, barely practical to transfer to the lift, to the room and open the room door. Could be quite dangerous in fact if one tripped or met an unsuspecting fellow guest whilst walking the corridors.
Staff were trying to be helpful
