The Leonardo Hotel Swindon has garnered appreciation for its cleanliness and prime location close to key attractions, with guests often praising the spotless rooms and convenient access to the theatre and train station. However, opinions on its offerings are mixed; while the comfortable beds and breakfast variety are highlights, some guests have issues with room size, noise, and occasional amenity malfunctions like air conditioning. Service experiences vary, with instances of both commendation for staff friendliness and criticism for inefficiency. Moreover, concerns about value for money, citing pricey food and subpar rooms, are not uncommon.

This hotel remains very good when visiting Swindon.

The check in process was smooth, whilst the service was largely very good throughout. My only issue was when the bar was cashed up well ahead of the scheduled close time without any warning.

The room was well kept and comfortable, whilst the shower (in bath) was powerful,

The £6 overnight car parking fee was reasonable, whilst the central location is very convenient if working in town.

Good Afternoon callcrookie, Thank you very much for your review and for choosing to stay with us, we are delighted to learn that you found our hotel’s central location and parking to be really convenient, the rooms to be comfortable and with powerful shower, and our staff and service to be very good throughout your stay! In regards to the bar closing early, unfortunately staffing issues related to the ongoing pandemic have limited the times when we can operate it safely. We are currently on a large recruitment drive to ensure that our hotels are fully staffed and that we can resume to normal service as soon as possible! We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future! Kind Regards, Melisa Customer Experience Team

What a transformation I stayed at this Hotel in 2015 and the only good thing about it then was the staff, but now the rooms and the hotel have been totally transformed to a very good standard , Kaya on reception was absolutely wonderful very professional and very helpful, good quality breakfast and the hotel is spotless. Just couple of minor details that would probably help, the drinks and meals are expensive and with plenty of restaurants close by it is easy to chose an alternative
so maybe the hotel chain should come up with a meal deal that is more affordable. Room 104 needs attention to toilet system that is continually flushing but this was not a major issue.

The hotel is located close to rail station which is good. It's clean modern and the rooms are very nice. Decent size clean and functional. Check in staff were nice.
The bar/restaurant is in contrast expensive with poor quality food aand the staff are indifferent and not remotely interested. The food I chose was fish and chips. At £16 this should have been top quality. It was not. Firstly what possessed someone to decide that serving fish and chips in an oblong tray was a good idea? The chips came in a vase/metal container? The tray was just strange. The fish and the chips were greasy and the peas were not smashed as described in the menu but just good old mushy. It is fortunate for the staff that none of them thought to enquire how I was enjoying the food.

Stayed here for the first weekend in February the 1 star is because the staff were excellent sadly the hotel wasn’t we started in room 907 on the top floor and at midnight the air con/ heating system clicks on with a loud droning noise that continued even if you turned off the system both of us were unable to sleep so called reception who came to the room saying it’s always like that as the vents are on the roof we ended up moving rooms at 4 am and were given complimentary drinks vouchers we moved to room 729 which had exactly the same noise there’s clearly a problem with the system that they are not addressing and judging by the number of guests with complimentary drink vouchers the next day it is clear we were not the only ones complaining. Anyway room 729 had the same noise and is sandwiched between the lift shafts and the cleaners cupboard so even more noise. We put up with it and in the morning very tired made our way down for breakfast. Now we have stayed at many Jury’s inn hotels before and never had a problem and the breakfasts are always great but sadly not at Swindon. The food was cold and left out too long items were removed from the buffet a full 40 mins before breakfast finished the orange juice was clearly watered down the water for tea and coffee was lukewarm and the sausages were inedible. We did complain and were offered a discount on any future stay at Jury’s inn Swindon but obviously we won’t be returning (premier inn would have refunded our stay under their good night sleep guarantee. Overall good staff nice clean rooms and hotel but noisy faulty heating/ air con and very poor breakfast I would recommend you stay elsewhere in Swindon

Stayed here for one night to see friends and shop in the outlet centre.

Well located for town restaurants etc and only 15-20 minutes walk from the outlet centre.

Parking is limited and you also have to pay for this in addition to the hotel cost (£6).

Having read the details beforehand, we booked an Executive Room, to have a much bigger room, other luxuries and a 1pm check-in.
The cost was £125 B&B.
We have stayed in other local hotels for much less, but decided to give it a try.

The room size is very similar to the standard rooms in the other hotels, so I’m not sure what the standard rooms are like here. The room was comfortable with a huge comfie bed.
There was a coffee machine, mini fridge and safe.

The unheated bathroom was fresh and also very small. The room allegedly came with additional toiletries. We had shower gel, shampoo / conditioner and hand wash, so not sure what they were.

Breakfast was very good, with a good choice of freshly cooked foods readily available. The hot drinks consist of black coffee, or hot water to go with the tea bags or sachets of decaffeinated coffee. Not cappuccino here.

In summary. This hotel has a lot of competition, which offer very similar quality stays at £40-£50 less. Sadly, the upgrade to an “Executive” room wasn’t worth it on this occasion.

Our room on the forth floor was fine included large flat screen tv, tea and coffee facilities etc. Soap and shampoo provided in bathroom.
The evening menus was limited but this was due to the fact that it was included as part of our coach tour package. The buffet breakfast was first class, full continental plus English as much as you can eat certainly sets you up for the day.

As a family of 9( 3 generations) we had a lovely stay in jury’s hotel in Swindon in August. We were visiting family so we stayed at Jury’s which was close by and which also gave us a good opportunity to visit the shopping outlet in Swindon which is only 5 mins away. The breakfast which is eat all you can was very filling and threre was a good variety kept us going to lunchtime 👍🏻The rooms were very clean and tidy hence I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the Swindon area.

Booked via booking.com. Hotel took payment the day after I made the booking however I cancelled as I was no longer visiting the area and I'm still yet to receive a refund. The hotel initially responded to my email chasing the refund and confirmed that the booking is fully refundable however advised it can take up to 90 days to process. I advised that this would be deemed unreasonable under consumer law (up to 30 days is deemed reasonable) but the hotel have not responded to any of my messages since!

I stayed for 1 night due to work commitments and check in was very quick and efficient. However, when I went up to the room I realised they had given me an accessible room so I asked to change to a room with a bath. They gave me a room on the 9th floor which still only had a shower but I couldn't be bothered to change again.

The room itself was very comfortable and quiet and due to covid the restaurant and bar were shut and there was a limited room service menu which you collected from reception when it was ready. The toilet was running all night but it didn't bother me when the bathroom door was shut.

I had a very good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed and for that reason I would stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel during the week for the last 6 weeks whilst on a work course.
Big thumbs up for the rooms. Comfortable, spacious and clean.
Staff were a mixed bag. Some were friendly, others have been blunt and a bit 'off'.

The food is terrible. There is hardly any choice and what is there is very overpriced and sub standard. The burgers are so overcooked if they fell on the floor, they would bounce. And the biggest sin is that with the chicken and mash, the mash is pre mixed and packed powdered mash that is then microwaved and is served hotter than the sun.

I've only stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights but don't recall TV screens figuring highly in the bar/lounge area. Unless you phone to confirm, I'd think it unlikely this is a football viewing venue.
