Famous as the Birthplace of Stilton Cheese, this popular inn sits at the heart of the village.Built around the old courtyard our Village bar and Bistro, Galleried Restaurant and Bedrooms have been skilfully blended into the ageless stonework offering old world charm, relaxing comfort and the most modern facilities.

My husband & I needed a little get-away after a very busy period at work. We chose to go to Stilton, which turned out to be a lovely 'sleepy' village, made very special by our selected accommodation, The Bell Hotel. We were bowled over from the minute we arrived by how

Dear Jane, Thank you for taking the time to review us and for visiting our hotel. Excellent customer service is our top priority closely followed by some very good food! All the team work really hard to make the Bell truly shine for our guests. I am delighted you enjoyed you time with us and look forward to seeing you again soon. Our new vegan menu comes out at the end of January, so that will give you one more reason to visit us again. Kind Regards, Johanna Grimshaw

Anniversary lunch in the Brasserie...we had dined here before and were most impressed. I had the ham hock on Spiced red cabbage...most tasty. My wife had the Turkey and "all the trimmings". When it arrived it was "gravied out!" . My wife asked for it to be served dry with gravy

Good Evening, Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your meal. I can honestly say that I really don’t know what happened, we have served hundreds of the turkey main course over December and not received any complaints. I must apologise for this and also the drowning of turkey in gravy and our poor response to your complaint. Please let me know prior to your next visit so that we can improve on your last impress of our food and service. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Johanna Grimshaw General Manager

Booked and enjoyed the Bell for a Boxing Day lunch and it was lovely. The food was well prepared and tasted absolutely fantastic. Service was polite and efficient despite the restaurant being very busy. Well done the Bell and keep the great work up.

Good Evening, Thank you for your compliments and comments. Boxing Day is a lovely day to work and if my memory serves me correctly this is the 23rd Boxing Day I have worked at the Bell – Blimey! We traditionally only open for drinks on Christmas Day and Boxing Day is our big event. I would like to wish you a belated Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you again (hopefully before boxing day!) Kind regards Johanna Grimshaw General Manager

Whilst there is a vegan menu at this inn, I didn't want to eat a large meal at lunch time and ordered a salad. This contained leaves and shavings of pepper, celery and carrot. I was not offered any dressing. The vegetables served with the other main meals looked lovely but

Dear Susan, Thank you for your review, all comments are viewed in a positive light as they help us to understand our customers in order to give better service. We most certainly do not believe that Vegans should not be given a choice and we have had a vegan menu available since March 2017. I believe if we had known of your specific dietary requirements the vegan menu would have been sent alongside our Christmas party menu. Our Sunday lunch prices automatically at 2 or 3 courses in the bistro and I wish you had raised this on the day so it could have been rectified. Please get in touch with us before your next visit so we can ensure you are well looked after. Kind regards, Johanna Grimshaw General Manager

This one of the best parties we have ever had, our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, all staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. There was 16 of us from all parts of the country and everyone was very impressed. We will definitely return soon, thank you all.
