We stayed here for the weekend - attending the Snow Patrol concert at the open air theatre on the Friday and the rest of the weekend in Scarborough and Whitby. Loved the place - nice clean airy bedroom, good quality WiFi, nice sized tv, friendly hosts and a lovely breakfast. Yes they are having a bit of work done but it really doesn’t impact your stay there. Also well placed on a bus route to both Whitby and Scarborough - would thoroughly recommend it - a nice traditional pub environment

We really didn’t enjoy our stay here at all. At £92 a night it was exceptionally over priced. They are having renovation work there is a lot of rubbish in the entrance. The restaurant was closed even though sign says open 7 days a week. The room was very basic with outdated furniture and a TV the size of a postage stamp. Very little to do or eat in the area either. We couldn’t even use the WiFi as the signal was awful and no phone signal either. I hardly slept all night as the bed was like sleeping on an ironing board. After an awful night sleep we were woken by builders shouting outside at 8 am. Don’t expect a decent shower either as the water pressure was terrible. Breakfast was average too. We booked this after seeing the reviews. Would definitely recommend this.

Just can't get enough of this pub. Every time we come up to visit family, we eat here every night. Great menu, generous portions, very efficient staff who are so friendly. Delicious food and priced correctly for their high standard of menu and service. Highly recommend.

We have stayed here twice before under previous owners. We were made to feel welcomed and valued by all staff who were so friendly and helpful Greatly improved accommodation and facilities. The food is always excellent, we've had meals regularly over the last few years even when not resident . It's just a shame there is little atmosphere post dinner as the bar and drinks available are good, that is not the fault of The Oakwheel, though, just the location, possibly?

Room Tip: Large King size room, (White Fox View?), was quiet as it was at the rear and well equipped.

We came for Sunday lunch which was lovely perfectly served with plenty of choice. We stayed the night in a recently decorated bedroom which was very comfortable. The breakfast next morning was excellent. This was our second visit and can't wait to come back.
