This hotel should pride itself on having some of the friendliest staff I have ever come across. The rooms were comfortable, with an excellent shower, and the breakfast was truly delicious with lots of choice. I would be very happy to recommend this central hotel.
This hotel is a kind of tale of two parts. Our room was fairly basic - no safe, no fridge, no aircon - but, it was clean and had a great shower (always a plus!) However, all the staff were lovely, particularly those in the bar and restaurant. The food was great and the wines were even better. All the staff were knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Benners also have a great cocktail menu - I hesitated about the raspberry martini, saying to the server that I felt it might be a bit sweet. He nodded and said 'let me see what I can do to adjust the sweetness for you'. Oh wow, don't know what he did but it was gorgeous and definitely moreish! Kudos to him!! Particular shout out to Pauline and Eleanor on the front desk - two lovely and capable ladies!
We were 2 couples on a cycling tour and stayed in Benners. We could not fault the hotel at all. They looked after our bikes when we arrived and also had accepted our rucksack well before check-in to allow us to cycle baggage free. The breakfast was delicious, and there was lots of options. Rooms are perfect for what we needed and I would happily return. Thanks to Pauline for all her help.
The rooms are a bit dated and the pillows were not great, however I have heard there is a refurb on the cards. Very central place to stay everything within walking distance which is a plus. There is a great courtyard with plenty of space to sit outside. Food are large portions and very nice indeed, Highlight were the staff, unbelievable, the best we have encountered anywhere we stayed before. Massive shout out to Pauline in reception, Elaine in restaurant and Mark in the bar, you could not have looked after us any better than you did, thank you so much, from the two girls from Cork. Will definitely be back.
Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 nights and I have to say it was absolutely lovely. Pauline is an absolute gem and a great asset to this hotel . She was so helpful and friendly and nothing was to much trouble . The hotel itself is absolutely spotlessly clean from room to reception. There is an outside seating area that also has a very quirky area called mollys with some lovely vintage furniture. Although this hotel doesn’t have its own car park you can park in the church car park which is next door. So all in all we would definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back .
