This was our first visit to Killarney and wont be our last could not of asked for a more central hotel. The room was very big and comfortable with a great power shower and also very clean with complimentary bottled water every day. The breakfast choice was very good and of great quality including all of the fresh fruit available. A special mention must go to Kelly the owners daughter who was very helpful for our 5 day stay she is a credit to the hotel and also her father who gave us some great places to go off the beaten track . My wife and i will definatley be coming back to stay at you beautiful hotel 10/10
We stayed here late August/early September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this family owned and run location in the middle of Killarney. We lucked out and got the top corner room (Room 304) with extra "bay window" area. Even though this is a historic older building there is an elevator. The windows open, and although there is no air conditioning, they did provide a box fan for use if needed. The room was spacious, but because several of the walls (since it is just below angled roof) are angled the only real clothing storage was a large armoire with 6 hangers. The two nightstands had a little bit of storage space. Loved sitting in the window alcove watching the street below. King bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had tub/shower combo that had good water pressure and drained well, but there was only 1 towel bar and then hooks on back of door. There was an iron and ironing board in the room but no safe. We got the bed and breakfast rate and the breakfast each morning had options of hot items (eggs, pancakes, etc. to order from menu) or cereals, fruit, breads and an assortment of juices and hot drinks. Kelly, the granddaughter of the original owners, was around the breakfast room and check-in desk most all day (and even saw her working in the dining room one evening. She was very nice and helped us locate parking, a laundry facility, called us a cab, and gave us directions as needed. I'm sure her grandparents are proud of her involvement in the hotel. It was just 3 blocks or so to High Street, about the same to the train and bus station, and centrally located for many restaurants. We would certainly stay here again if ever in Killarney.…
My family called to McSweeneys Hotel and while there we had a medical emergency with one of the Family. To say that the staff member involved in helping us was excellent would be an understatement. His quick thinking, professionalism and friendliness and above all his kind helping hand made a very shocking event easier to endure. Mr McSweeney and your staff a huge huge thank you. THANK YOU
As a group of 6 adults and 4 kids, we were happy to have found somewhere to watch the Kilkenny vs Cork hurling semi final. We were all checked in re Covid and as we were entering the premises , the owner decided to tell us that “you can’t bring children in here, they won’t stay quiet , you can’t come in “ . 2 of the kids are 6 years old and we had iPads and colouring supplies for them. My brother in law was extremely irate at the treatment of our children , given the fact that the staff had no problem with us dining there a few minutes prior to that obnoxious man turning up. It was disgusting treatment and it’s surprising how this man has a business.
Best food. Staff incredible. Fantastic service and thankfully they are checking for Covid proof. 10 out of 10. I had a gorgeous bruschetta starter . Just the way it should be. And then sizzling prawns with stir fry veg. All fantastic. Thank you all and more importantly I live in Killarney.
