Nestled in a prime location, Zanzibar Locke Hotel is celebrated for its peaceful atmosphere and proximity to Dublin's attractions, offering travelers a tranquil retreat. Guests have called out the cleanliness and well-appointed rooms, complete with kitchenettes and laundry facilities, though some have noted varying room sizes and temperature control issues.
The hotel's service garners high praise for staff attentiveness, and while its value is generally appreciated, a few guests warn about unexpected fees. Despite some finding the bar atmosphere lacking, the overall relaxing vibe and thoughtful design earn rave reviews.

The front desk and reservations staff are all very helpful. The property has ample room for communal seating on the ground floor with communal tables and private desks. Ideal for working outside your room. For a long work-related stay of 6 weeks, this was important. Enclosed open-air and private smoking area on the ground floor. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. The property entrance is well lit and accessed by a card key with a touchless exit system. The room was comfortable with a functional kitchen, couch, TV, and a comfortable bed. The TV could not be angled toward the bed which is a tiny hassle. The bathroom was a decent size and modern, as is the entire property. It was clearly recently refurbished. Lifts are good. Location is in the centre of Dublin City and allows access on foot to all the main areas of interest in the city centre. Paid parking is close by at the Jervis Street Centre (not part of the property) and a little expensive for long stays EUR20 per night (10 pm to 6 am) and more per hour during the day. Tip: Do NOT park on the street in the surrounding areas overnight, the free-parking zone is either from 7 pm to 7 am or from 11 pm to 7 am. If you miss the 7 am deadline then you will be clamped, the clampers have spotters on commission I think :), and depending on which company clamps your vehicle then you will be paying between 80EUR and EUR140 release fee and probably waiting up to 90 minutes for the pleasure. Also, some of the quieter surrounding streets are not safe for vehicles overnight or to walk alone if you are not able to look after yourself. Nothing different to any big city but exercise caution during quiet times. In normal times the area is very busy with Temple Bar across the river and bars and restaurants all along the north bank of the river on either side of the property. The Liffey boardwalk in front of the property is always busy.

Beautifully decorated, clean & super stylish - this place is gorgeous and ideal for young professionals who appreciate aesthetically pleasing venues (instagramable) and want to be in a central location. I didn't want to leave this place even though I was working for most of my stay. Staff are excellent and they even have a whatsapp number you can text them for any requests or questions. The ONLY thing I will note, which is not a reflection on staff but just on their online booking system is that I paid an additional €10 specifically for the early check in option but when I rang them to confirm my booking staff were unaware of that feature on their site. Not a big deal at all to me but some people in the future could be liable to kick up a fuss about that. Can't wait to stay here again, it's a 10/10 from me! Great trendy & modern addition to Dublin City :).

Location was outstanding, honestly it couldn't have been more in the center of everything!
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Having the fridge/freezer, cutlery etc in the room was really helpful - could make a decent coffee in the room which is essential for me!
Bathroom was great, even had decent shower gel/shampoo/conditioner rather than the usual cheap stuff which ruins your hair
Only two MINOR negatives
1. There was no shaving socket in the room and we both use electric toothbrushes. Batteries died on the last day and no way to charge them.
2. The window had a curtain, a net curtain AND a privacy screen. The privacy screen seemed really unnecessary and meant we had NO view from the room and very, very little natural light.

Hi Claudia, thank you for your comprehensive review and of course for choosing Zanzibar Locke. Regarding the shaving socket this has been passed on to our design team, and the privacy screens are on that room out of respect for our neighbours, but to ask for a different room for your next visit and we will make every effort to facilitate. I am delighted that you had such a great experience overall and cant wait to welcome you back! Le meas

From the minute I arrived I knew I was going to enjoy my stay in Zanzibar Locke as I was met by 2 lovely friendly ladies on reception and even though I was very early for check in they looked after me really well. The location is spot on, just by the Halfpenny Bridge, a 2 minute walk to Temple Bar, 10 minutes walk to Grafton Street and 20 minutes walk from Connolly Train and Bus Stations, The room was really comfortable, with a well appointed bathroom, small kitchen area, settee and dog bed should you need one. The bar area is light and airy and the on site café was perfect for breakfast. It was really good value for money too.
The only criticism was the lack of natural light in my bedroom. There was just one small window with frosted glass that did not open very far.

Stayed in a Locke Studio recently for two nights. From arrival to departure, we had an excellent experience. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The decor downstairs is beautiful and there’s lovely space to chill in the reception and courtyard. The coffee downstairs is great as are the cocktails in the Bazar restaurant. We absolutely loved our studio! The bathroom was clean and modern - we loved the heated towel rail and rainfall shower. The kitchen was well equipped with a toaster, kettle etc and even had a small dishwasher. The bed was so comfy as was the small sofa. We loved the chrome cast feature on the TV! The location of the hotel is perfect as it’s right in the city centre - we were a bit conscious of the security but it is extremely safe as after 5pm a keycard is required to enter the building and needs to be scanned again after reception, in the lift and then again to access your room so it is very safe. We also appreciated that we could leave our bags after checkout to go explore the city and then come back for them.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back!

The pictures fully represent the aparthotel; the rooms were well maintained and had a light feel to them. So handy to have a sink and a fridge. The beds were very comfortable and there is a small sofa to relax on. There is a small amount of noise at night from neighbouring venues but I think this is to be expected in a city centre. The hotel is very safe with staff around at all times and key access at various parts of the hotel. The location is fabulous and easy to get to everywhere in the city centre.
The breakfast was really nice and they were very accommodating to my mum who was coeliac. I let them know before hand and they always had something available and if they had little choices left they made sure they’re was something to pick up later.
The best part of the hotel is the staff. They were so accommodating and friendly. I had children with me and they always spoke to them as we left and arrived and they very chatty- no ask was too much!
We thought for a moment our passports had been taken (turned out we had misplaced them in the room and they were found). While we thought they were taken, the staff were very vigilant in a crisis and extremely calming in the situation. They talked us through the process and were able to check if someone had accessed our room while we were out. When we found them they were very kind in response and made sure we were okay even though it was our mistake.
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would go again if we were in the area.

We stayed in Zanzibar Locke for 3 weeks due to house renovation. The room was a Locke Studio - Double/ Twin which was bright and airy, with wooden floors, washer/dryer, microwave oven/ grill oven combined, dishwasher, and plenty of storage space. The room is cleaned once a week upon request. The bathroom / shower is spacious with a tropical shower head. The WiFi was super fast and the TV has a Chromecast connection which is very handy for streaming content from your phone. The North Seven cafe on the ground floor has good breakfast options both hot and cold including breakfast cap, muesli and oats. The staff are friendly and one of the male staff is perhaps a bit loud and over friendly. The bar is comfortable and the Hakuna Matata cocktail is definitely worth a try. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and really good value for money given the location and quality of room on offer.

We chose this hotel for the location and fair price. It's located just a fews footsteps away from Temple Bar, surrounded by bars and restaurants and with great connections to public transport.
Our room was 308, which I would absolutely recommend. It had a view out to the atrium, thus was way quieter than the other side.
The studio was nicely furbished, very modern and bright and equipped with everything one could want. We never used the kitchen aside from the tea kettle, but loved the huge fridge. The bed was incredibly comfy with great bedding and pillows. Only flaw: you can't watch TV from bed.
Front desk staff was extraordinary. Every single staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful and welcoming. We were very impressed.
Lastly, not only were we able to check in early without an extra charge; for 10€ you can stay in the room until 13:00, which I think is a great deal.
Would absolutely recommend!

Hi Marina, thank you so much for spending time with us here in Zanzibar Locke, we are blown away by the detail and kindness in your review. The central location is so handy for visitors coming to Dublin, allowing them access by foot and public transport to the best that the city has to offer. The apartments are all lovely of course, 308 is a gem, even with the TV viewing angle issue. Our City Studios, which are are smallest apartment all have good viewing angles to the TV and are great for a short stay. You literally could not get a better location for Dublin. I drove up and parked in the Jervis Street APCOA car park where you can park overnight. It’s less than a 5 minute walk from Zanzibar Locke.
I struggled to find affordable accommodation in a great Dublin location in the booking engines, so I went to Google maps and clicked everywhere with an accommodation icon and that’s how I found Zanzibar Locke. I went almost the whole way through the booking process and was about to click pay when I realised I’d get a discount as well as early check in and late check out if I signed up to the website, so that’s what I did. I now have a lifetime discount code for all their locations. It’s a very efficient, friendly, professional traveller experience in a premium location with great facilities, a modern ecological vibe and design at an affordable price. The room was more like an apartment and much more spacious and with better facilities than any hotels et looked at. It’s secure, has excellent sound proofing and a welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom is spacious with a walk in shower which has a superb rainfall and wand shower (excellent water pressure), the beds were comfortable with power points and integrated USB ports nearby, although it would be nice to have them next to both single beds instead of just one, the kitchen was superb, a real bonus for a city centre stay with tea, coffee and milk available and all very modern, efficient and clean. There’s even a refillable water bottle which we put in the fridge as it was a pretty warm day. Adjacent was a comfortable seat, bench and table. I used the table to put on my make up as it got great natural light. Unusually for Ireland the weather was warm (no rain 😉) the window was large but didn’t tilt much (safety) and although the room had air conditioning, it wouldn’t go any cooler than 18 degrees - lovely for sleeping but too warm once you start moving around. The hallways were smotheringly warm, but you don’t linger too long and I’ll bet they’re a lovely temperature in the winter. Loved the decor. Modern concrete walls with flashes of art and colour. Some great natural materials. Loved the absolute professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff were encountered. In the public areas facilities are excellent. We used the cafe a couple of times but went out to other locations to eat, didn’t use the gym, but it’s great to have one there. Zanzibar Locke is in a superb location, it’s all very clean (except the public courtyard floor - it was swept regularly, just needed a bit of a mop). All in all I’d absolutely book this location again when staying in Dublin and I’d look at the other international locations first before going to a search engine. Great for an extended stay because of the kitchen, a bigger room than you’d get at a hotel. It’s a superb product for travelers and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Dear Puffbubble :) ( what a great name ) we are thrilled that you enjoyed your time with us and particularly greatful for the comprehensive review and description that you have left here! All of the key points about your stay are included and give a great indication to other visitors what to expect. We do note yourcomment about the air conditioning, we do restrict it to 18c at the lower end and in most weather this is more than sufficient, your stay did coincide with one of the warmest spells of weather to hit Ireland in a long time, and this is unfortunately probably a trend going forward. We will continue to investigate how to improve comfort levels for guests while still keeping an eye on our own carbon footprint. Our favourite part of the review however is about the staff, we are delighted that you enjoyed the interactions as much as we did, and we hope to welcome you back very soon! Is mise le meas

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved Zanzibar Locke. We stayed in a studio room which was bigger than any other city hotel rooms we've stayed in and so much more affordable - perfect for 2 people. The kitchen areas in each room are a great feature. The decor is bright and modern, every part of the hotel was spotless and my boyfriend loved the workout studio. We also had dinner in Baraza restaurant which was delicious and they have a lovely coffee/breakfast area too. It was also very sustainable with no single-use plastics used, plus they had reusable soap bottles in bathrooms instead of disposable. All staff that we spoke to were so friendly and professional, from reception to restaurant, they couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely stay here again 😊

Hello! Thank you for the question! :) No, unfortunately they do not.
Yes ours did. I only took carry on luggage and didn’t take a hairdryer with me.
Hi, to be honest I can't remember. I have a feeling that there may have been just a kettle.
I have no idea since we flew in. But, the staff at the Zanzibar are outstanding. Have you asked them? My bet is if there is one, they'll know.
