This hotel is beautiful, modern and has everything you need. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. The decor throughout is really lovely and the bar area is great, serving lots of great drinks! Cannot fault the staff here, they go above and beyond. Also, you really cannot fault the breakfast, it’s very good. Great location on O’connell street, close to everything. We came to Dublin as a couples trip away and it was perfect for us. So much to do, so much to see. Although we did find it quite expensive, especially temple bar. But the area is a must see!! We visited a few lush restaurants with really good food. I would recommend the hop on, hop off bus - it was fantastic. The zoo was a great day out and definitely the Guinness factory! We would 1000% return in the future. Thank you for a great stay!

I have not written a review in a long time, but I have just checked out of the Gresham and the hospitality I received from every single member of staff that I encountered cannot be ignored.

I stayed for 3 nights for a work trip and arrived too early to be shown to my room, but everyone at the front desk said hello to me and a member of staff went through the check in process and confirmed all of my details straight away. They then offered to store my bag so I didn’t need to carry it around the city. When I returned around 4PM I was met at the front desk and given my bag straight away. I met another staff member in the lift who was very friendly and chatty, and even asked my room number and got off on my floor to show me right to the door!!

The room was very spacious with two big windows and a window in the bathroom, which I much prefer to the usual hotel bathroom fan. The standard of everything in the room was great, plenty of towels, a safe, pillows, strong shower, coffee/tea facilities, hairdryer.

I headed out for dinner Sunday night and arrived back late, it was nice to see a doorman at the entrance checking names and room numbers. Multiple times throughout my stay I found that staff and security were very attentive about who was mingling around the lobby and the Toddy’s restaurant area, which I appreciated as it meant I had a quiet space to get some work done.

I ate breakfast at the hotel every morning, mostly due to the friendly staff! I was greeted by name every morning after they took my room number and the wait staff were great for bringing coffee, checking in on you. I was also very surprised and happy to see lactose free milk on offer as it’s often forgotten about :).

I visited Toddy’s twice and sat in the lobby area both times. I would definitely recommend the nachos with dips and the El Paro Chardonnay. Again, staff and service were great, everyone greets you with a smile and a ‘hello’ and makes you feel welcome. Both times the bill was brought to me and change/receipt returned to my table so I didn’t even have to get up out of my seat and stop working!! This kind of service was very much appreciated.

The lobby area/hotel in general is also very well kept and has a very cozy/warm feeling to it while still feeling luxurious, it was great to come back to every night as the weather was quite bad.

At check-out the front desk again offered to look after my bag until I was ready to leave Dublin.

I would really like to extend my thanks to all of the staff I met during this trip, in particular housekeeping, the front desk, breakfast staff, and the wait staff at Toddy’s, who all created a great atmosphere. It is a stunning hotel but it will be the staff in particular that make me recommend this to others and what will make me return on future trips.

Stayed here before a few years ago, and as before, its a good hotel in probably the best location for shops and sights in central Dublin.
Exterior and ground floor facilities are very impressive and since the RUI takeover, service has improved greatly.
We booked an extra large room and this was worth it - both air conditioned room and bathroom were reburbished with walk in monsoon shower. Be careful - some standard rooms are tiny.

Breakfast was varied, fresh and good quality. Not sure why they put 1970's (cheap café) salt and pepper dust on the table though.
Lots of different room rates so shop around on the Net. Would stay again.

Staying two nights in a suite, paying £700 with parking. We wanted fresh milk, because they only supply UHT plastic containers to make tea in the room. We were ordering room service lunch so asked for a small amount of milk and we were surprised to be charged extra for this. When we questioned this, the duty manager was very offhand and asked why that was a problem.

Apart from that, the suite was very cold and smelt stale.

The hotel is in a central location, it’s not possible to park at the front to drop off luggage but there is a multi storey carpark at the back of the building.

In terms of staying in Dublin city the Gresham provides a perfect central location without breaking the bank.
We were impressed with the welcome and the adherence to Covid guidelines - we felt safe at all times in the hotel and thought the cleanliness of the public areas (including the lifts) was very good.
All the staff we met were friendly, courteous and efficient.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, although the sofa-bed didn't work very well as a sofa and we didn't need it as a bed!
The breakfast was excellent and the dining room was very well run. We had stayed here before and we were not disappointed with the food and bar service.
The only negative was that on our floor there was one room where they partied late into the night (it was a Friday night) with loud laughter and singing going on till 1.30am or 2.00am. Maybe having a staff member doing occasional walks along the corridors for an hour or two after the bar closes to keep an ear open for this sort of thing might help. Overall the positives far outweighed this inconvenience.

Our visit was on the first-night hotels reopened. Our room was large and well equipped, it had a street view but we did not hear any noise even though the Luas stop is right outside the hotel. Because there were no restaurants open our only choice was the hotel restaurant. When we tried to book for 18:30 we were told it was totally booked out but to try at 20:00 to see if they had a table free. A big thank you to the superb Jack who managed to find a table in the foyer for us. Food was great particularly the fish & chips. Breakfast was included in the room price and there was great choice as well as being delicious. It was a great way to start the day. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you use the overnight parking in Q parking make sure to get a ticket as you will need it to get the reduced overnight rate. Do not use the contactless option to enter the car park.

We were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped foot into the hotel. We were greeted by a member of staff who directed us to the reception desk, which was sectioned off to adhere to social distancing, and which also had protective screens for both the safety of staff and customers. Thr reception team were very respectful in their manner, extremely obliging and there was no ask too big or too small. I felt very safe when checking in. Our room was on the 6th floor and we had a member of staff help us with our luggage, the staff member was wearing appropriate ppe and maintained a noticeable distance from us while also making us feel welcome, he also directed our attention to the hand sanitizer in our room upon arriving to our room. We appreciated this. Our room was absolutely fantastic. We could tell that the room had been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. We had a lovely stay; the beds very comfortable, water temperature was perfect, although the weather was very hot we had air con in our rooms, so we slept very well. One of the most attractive features of this hotel is its central locality, the city is right on its doorsteps, to add to this there was absolutely no noise pollution at all from our room, we were so relaxed the entire time. This will definitely be our Go-To hotel when staying in Dublin in the future. We couldn't have been happier with every aspect of our stay. Thank you to the Managers and Staff who made our stay so enjoyable, comfortable, memorable and safe.
Ms. Shelly.

We stayed at the Hotel Riu Plaza for 2 nights and it was perfect. Location was great, 10 minute walk from Temple Bar area and transport (buses/trams/taxis) readily available right outside the front door

Hotel was nice & clean and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, really friendly & helpful.

Breakfast was included in the room rate and didn’t disappoint with a huge selection of continental and cooked breakfast items.

Stayed at the hotel for a short city break and the city centre location is a major plus, as it is easy to access via Aircoach from the airport & being within walking distance from Temple Bar and other attractions was great too.

The outside and lobby looked grand and impressive for this famous historic landmark, however the rooms inside are average and fairly basic. Tea & coffee facilities are provided, along with toiletries. But other than that nothing makes this stand out more than any other hotel in a city.

The room was either too hot or too cold, making it difficult to keep an even temperature in the room, and it was too noisy to keep windows open.

Breakfast was included and has good variety or hot and cold options. Staff in the restaurant were not the most pleasant, hot food was thrown into the plate & at times it felt more canteen style than a 4 star establishment. It also felt rushed as opposed to a leisurely start to the morning.

Ireland still has fairly strict covid restrictions in place and these are being strictly observed by the hotel. I also feel this impacting on staff feeling comfortable around guests.

Masks wearing is required in all public space i.e. lifts, corridors, the bar and restaurant. So this also means no daily housekeeping services, other than a bag of fresh towels hung on the door everyday. No room service either.

I hope as Ireland lessens its restrictions that normal services will be resumed.

This hotel is of a very good standard but a little noisy in the evening as the walls are very thin and also the staff can be seen and heard from the window on their breaks, putting the glass recycling out and pushing the laundry cages Maybe this was just my room but seems to me a lot of rooms were positioned towards this way. It wasn't a major issue but notable. We were back at our room from about 8pm onwards as we travelled with a young child and he was very tired by this time the noise did not wake him.
The room was great large double bed and single bed (deluxe family room) both very comfortable with nice crisp bedding, cleaners did a great job, room always looked emmaculate the 4 days we were there, bathroom a little old fashioned but clean and functional, shower hot and good water pressure.
Breakfast amazing can not understand how I have seen reviews complaining about it, everything you can imagine: cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, pastries, porridge, full Irish, coffee, tea and various fruit juices. Staff very attentive nothing too much trouble.
Hotel location is very good 2 mins from spire. Hop on hop off bus stops about 20m from the hotel.

The bus from the airport no. 16 also stops right outside the hotel.

Our room was not ready when we arrived due to it only being 9.30am but the lady on the desk said if we could give her about 15 mins she would like to try and get a room available for us (I think because we were travelling with a toddler) sure enough 10 mins later we were told our room was ready which was fantastic.

Happily recommend this hotel just bear in mind the noise as mentioned if this would bother you but I think you would experience this in many hotels in a busy city like Dublin.

“ We inform that you can park your vehicle at Q-Park The Spire Car Park (3 minutes walk from the hotel) on Cathal Brugha Street. Please note that it is essential to get your ticket stamped by reception prior to your departure. Also a discount applies by showing your ticket to the Front Desk staff. I’ve stayed there twice in the last 3 months - the first room was very easy to get to - not far from the lift The 2 nd time the room was a bit of a walk from the lift. Both were renovated. I would recommend contacting the hotel and explaining what your needs are. They are very accommodating and I’m sure they would have no trouble putting you in a room that would suit your needs. I have been very impressed by their service to their customers.
