Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I needed a clean, comfortable, convenient, inexpensive and reliable hotel in Ayr for a night while I visited family. This room fully met my requirements. Tripadvisor requires me to write more - but there is really nothing else to be said.

After making our way to the room. There was no soap in the bathroom, we had to go to reception and ask for soap. The was dirty marks on the single bed, but that wasn't an issue as we weren't using the single bed. Our sleep wasn't a good one at room 108. The mattress at the left and right side is raised and the middle of the mattress has a dent. It was like rolling down a ditch trying to sleep. The room was really cold even with the heater on and the noise from the outside road was loud. We put the heater on, and had to turn it off as it made a squealing noise at night keeping us awake. The window is broken, it was like sleeping with an open window. It was drafty, and the window didn't touch the rubber seal resulting in cold air coming into the room and lots of noise. Our tea and milk was topped up, but the bed wasn't made. The bath, I'm only 5'7 and couldn't sit in it. It's so small it would be good for a child but not an adult. The second night had noisy customers who were shouting down the corridors outside our room door. At night the disabled bays were full of customers with no blue badges meaning I couldn't park in the disabled bays. Not a great experience. I would think twice before booking again.

Overall hotel is what you'd expect for the price. Room was basic but clean and quite quiet at night. Pillowams were very uncomfortable. Awful breakfast boxes given out at Reception. You had to go collect them and eat them in your room but no gluten free option whatsoever.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated and clean. No proper breakfast on site but a decent restaurant next door. I would stay here again.😀There was a bit of noise from the motorway outside in the morning but nothing too much.

Despite the hiccup of booking the wrong hotel, the staff at this travel lodge were very welcoming and helpful. Really appreciated this after our wee nightmare, the staff had also called and booked a taxi for us in time for our flight the next morning

Ok for a one off night but I would spend a week there, you’ll never walk properly again. Best off paying a bit more for the premier inn a cross the road. Least you’ll sleep well and get a great breakfast in the morning.

I've stayed longterm at the Travelodge in Ayr twice now. My initial concerns prior to that first were that it was a bit far from central Ayr. And that it was a bit isolated from local shops and eateries. It's not! Being located near THREE major roads, make it an ideal stop for car drivers. And the shops? There's a HUGE Asda superstore just a few minutes away. And as it's situated in the middle of an out-of-town shopping park, it's surrounded by lots of places to eat and have coffee. But it was the wonderful staff that convinced me to return (for what turned out to be a 2-month stay). At its heart, hospitality is a people business. And all staff at the Ayr Travelodge are a delight. From Nicola and Helen (and the rest of the Reception staff), through to the girls who keep the rooms spotlessly clean, all were happy smiley people, always happy to lend a helping hand. A real credit to the Travelodge brand. For me though, it was the size of their accessible rooms that convinced me to return. Ideal.

Clean, staff pleasant and helpful, would have been a 5 if didn’t need to go to reception for a hairdryer but it is a budget hotel and on a positive note my daughter, myself and 2 kids had ample room with ks bed and 2 small beds. I would definitely stay again

When you stay at a Travelodge yo know what you are going to get - comfortable and clean rooms and pleasant and helpful staff. This one in Ayr was no exception. When away from home I always stay at Travelodges whenever possible and this one is one of my favourites because it is convenient for main roads while close to the centres of both Ayr and Prestwick. An added benefit is the neighbouring Gro Coffee which serves the most amazing cakes.
