The Premier Inn Ayr A77/Racecourse Hotel generally provides good value, according to several guests, though opinions on meals and room standards show some variation. While the rooms are seen as clean with modern touches, certain guests cite issues with heating and lighting, and opinions on the newly changed breakfast offerings are mixed. The hotel's atmosphere earns praise for its modernity and cleanliness, yet some find the rooms a bit cramped.
Service quality seems to fluctuate, with staff being described as either attentive or lacking professionalism. Its location is favored for convenience, despite being in an industrial zone.

We stayed here for 2 nights late December 2023. We were going to a family wedding. We had driven nearly 400 miles to be welcomed by a lady called Michelle. A great welcome.
Room was clean and comfortable, food and drink hit the spot.
We did have taxi issues (a wee bit stressful when it is a wedding) .. again Michelle was brilliant, really proactive. A top colleague.

Booked a one night stay at Ayr racecourse Premier Inn to finish off our weeks stay in sunny Scotland. On arrival the lady explained that they were serving breakfast in the morning but evening meals would be served to your room. We were completely disappointed with this option as the attraction with Premier Inn is to just park up go and enjoy a drink and not have to go out again after a days travelling. When booking there was nothing mentioned about food in the important information section just a comment saying there would be different breakfast and evening meal options. We completely understand that these are not normal times but had it said on the website that it was closed at night we would not of booked. I went back to speak to the reception and explained my concerns and the lady went above and beyond to help us. We moved to the Ayr/Prestwick hotel which has a Brewers Fayre attached and booked us a table. Thank you so much to the lady (didn’t get her name) we swiftly moved up the road and had an enjoyable stay. We will continue to use Premier Inn as our first choice of hotel but the Restaurant options should be explained clearer on the website to avoid this situation

The employees were friendly, professional and would be the only reason we would return.
The room temperatures were unacceptable. On arrival our room temperature was showing as 26 degrees. There was no air conditioning or cooling system just an inadequate fan. We wish we had not booked and paid in advance for a three night stay. We feel very sorry for housekeeping. They looked extremely hot!
The other issue, despite lack of sleep due to the temperature, was the food. The breakfasts we had in the restaurant were lovely. The take away restaurant menu, however, had its issues. We ordered fish and chips and chilli nachos - the fish was soggy and the nachos were a box all thrown in together and the nachos were all soggy. Nowhere on the takeaway menu did it state food would be sent up in takeaway containers - if it had we would not have ordered it. The food was sent back and we ordered in a takeaway. Money refunded and lesson learnt for the remainder of our stay.
We have always had pleasant stays in premier inns but I think this one needs a refit to bring it up to the same standard as others in Scotland and the temperature issue needs addressing as this is definately a Health & Safety issue.

Our first time staying at this Premier Inn and we left with real mixed feelings.
We are regular visitors to this area but generally stay in the Travelodge across the road but opted for this hotel as it worked out quite a bit cheaper surprisingly.
On arrival check in was fine for our 2 night stay and we were allocated room 118 which was right beside the lift,i pointed this out to my partner at the time but she said it will be fine as we're very rarely in the hotel,it's basically a bed for the night as we're out most of the time, our first mistake as the noise from the lift during the night was really annoying and interrupted my sleep badly.
We got into our room and we had 1 pillow each,my partner prefers 2 so she nipped down to reception and got another pack of pillows,no big deal.
So we the started to get ready to go out and just about to get showered when we noticed we only had 1 large towel and one small towel...........clothes back on and down to reception to ask for another set of towels to be met with a reply of .........." how many people have you got in your room"..........'2,you just checked us in 20 mins ago" so back up to room not too chuffed by the attitude of the receptionist.
The shower was a trickle, for a room on the 1st floor it was very poor,no water pressure at all.
The room in general was fine, clean and typical Premier Inn.Location also fine as we're fairly regular travellers to this area.
Just the few little grievances that we should have complained about and in hindsight we should have asked for another room but we're not really complainers, our mistake.

Hello, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We’re very sorry that you had a disappointing stay with us recently due to problems with your room set up, water pressure and service from the team. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. We’ve ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with the Housekeeping, Maintenance and Reception teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Again, our sincere apologies and thank you for taking the time to share your review. We hope that we can look forward to welcoming you back to one of our hotels again soon for a more enjoyable stay. As regular a Premier Inn customers we’ve stayed at this Premier Inn several times in recent years as the rooms and especially the staff are great. However on this visit the bar area and restaurant were very cold. The portable electric heaters which I’ve not noticed previously were of little use in raising the temperature and we were forced to go to bed to get warm. Perhaps there’s a design/heating fault with this building ! Even the receptionist was wearing a fleece ! We were not happy !

We needed somewhere to stay close to the Crematorium in Ayr and Premier Inn was just up the road. Disappointed that the hotel does not have Electric Vehicle Charging yet, although the Premier Inn website says they are installing these quickly. Also the decor is about 25 years out of date and needs refreshing.
Having said that, the staff were all helpful and friendly and the room was perfectly adequate for a few nights stay.
Wifi was a bit iffy, but you could upgrade by paying extra, which we didn't need to.
The view from our window (Rm 222) over the waste ground next door and the commercial buildings closeby was of the Isle of Arran and the sunsets while we were there, were exceptional.
There were no USB ports in the room so a plug in charger is needed and the room is only cleaned after you leave or by request.
Plenty of parking all around the hotel, but beware the local garage staff use the front car park as a turning area and do so with great speed.
Smoking and Vaping is outside the premises away from the entrance doors only.

My mum and I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been very happy with every aspect of our stay. I usually phone the hotel in advance to request a room on the top floor and although I know this can't be guaranteed, they have always managed to grant my request. We always are greeted warmly by the staff and nothing is too much bother. The hotel has ample free parking and although it's just off the main road, we have always found it to be very quiet. It's a five minute drive away from Ayr Town Centre, same to a big retail park. Like all Premier Inns, the beds are so comfortable, the rooms are immaculate and good size tv's too. All in all, I can't fault this hotel, this is why we return time and time again. Thanks to all the lovely staff for another great stay.

We were visiting family in Ayr this weekend and needed overnight accommodation. Premier Inn, as always provides the perfect venue. It's consistently good, although the team in Ayr were particularly friendly and helpful. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, the bar was well stocked and the restaurant offered fruit, cereals and cooked breakfast with endless tea and coffee. Premier Inn is always great value and you know you'll get a good night's sleep. There's nowhere else that competes on such a consistent basis.

I was one of the party who had the misfortune to stay last month at the Premier Inn Ayr Racecourse only to be served with food that was completely inedible after waiting for 90 minutes with a table booked in an almost empty "restaurant". I note below that someone from Whitbread has sympathised in the hope it will not happen again. You must certainly be aware however that this has most definitely happened before at this premier inn according to the duty manageress. You totally failed in your bold promise to give us a good night's sleep and tasty food. We went to bed very tired, hungry and upset. Would any of you at Whitbread like to be fobbed off with - this really should not happen. Would you appreciate being given hardly warm, overcooked and covered in black bits of who knows what from a dirty filthy grill plate that is long overdue a clean. Would you sleep well in a room that every 20 seconds had the electric radiator making a buzzing noise and the glow of a floodlight shining into it from the car park. Resulting in a bar of very bright light shining onto you from the top and bottom of the curtains plus through the two holes in the curtains? Our nights stay was a complete disgrace and we deserve the courtesy of a phone call to discuss the failure of this establishment to give us what was promised.
Our lead booker has sent you a complaint to be told to wait for 15 day and after 15 days go by we are told once again to wait another 15 days. No where near good enough Whitbread. Please do the right thing. Get in touch because rolling out the usual platitudes at the end of a serious complaint is unprofessional and very lazy.

Hello, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. My older kids and I stayed overnight Saturday to Sunday. We found the room to be clean. As expected it was quite basic.. No toiletries apart from a soap dispenser. No iron or ironing board or biscuits. However my son appreciated the little pack of Lindt chocolate bunnies. The room was noisy during the night and early morning from other guests but that was not the hotels fault. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on Saturday night to which we brought my mum along. Three of us ordered burgers and chips. On arrival it looked appetising but unfortunately the burgers were very cold as if they had been sitting out for a while. The plates were very cold too. After the meal we mentioned our concerns to the staff. The member of staff was apologetic but said we should have said earlier so that she could have the food heated etc.. Apparently the plates can't be hot as the staff won't be able to carry them safely. I found that strange as I'd never experienced that issue in any other local restaurants. We had breakfast the next morning and the staff were pleasant. I will not be eating dinner there again. A waste of £57. If you want somewhere basic to stay overnight at a reasonable price then I would recommend it.

Hi i am sorry to hear this and best wishes for your family but we only stayed here as guests a few times and are not anything to do with the hotel chain.
Think you’d need a taxi, but it’s not far. It’s in an industrial complex.
We didn’t use it, but I believe that they still offer the service.
