Detailed Reviews
This is an absolute gem of a place within easy walking distance to the town centre. All of the staff that we had dealings with were all so helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble at all. There is a good little bar next to the restaurant within the hotel which was a great place to unwind after a day’s driving. We had dinner at the restaurant and this was reasonably priced and would be some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted and Nicky our waitress was just so bright and cheerful. Breakfast was very fulfilling with the same friendly staff. Our room had a great view over the mountains and was extremely clean. Would definitely return.

This hotel is based just up a small hill from the town centre, bear this in mind if you are booking as not everyone is able to walk it. It is within easy walking distance of all the bustle of Pitlochry.
The staff were so friendly, warm and smiley. The room we had was small but functional , very clean. The hot food for breakfast was good, the cold selection could benefit from a little increase, there was not much choice, it was also be easier if the hot drinks and fresh juices were moved away from the cereals, toaster and yogurts to help with traffic flow. We will definitely be be back. Have a fabulous weekend. Thank you

We are a Whisky Club is 8 visiting Pitlochry to experience tastings and distillery visits. The Craigvrack Hotel proved to be an excellent choice to base ourselves. Great value, superbly clean rooms, comfortable beds and extremely welcoming & friendly staff. We ate in their award winning “Urban” Indian restaurant, which we all agreed was well worth the hype….. all about the spices & flavours not the heat. The full Scottish breakfast which was included in a very reasonable rate, was also very, very good. Would certainly stay here again 👍

On entering the bedroom we flung open the windows as the stink of mould from the bathroom was overwhelming. Black mould around shower screen and it was stinking! The bed mattress was thin, cheap, old and uncomfortable. There was no cleaning done in room or beds made up or dirty cups/glasses replaced(and we were told in morning at breakfast to request fresh towels etc if we needed them)...how odd that you pay for this service and automatically get it at any other hotel. Only plus side was staff were polite but we will never be back. We stayed for 3 nights but almost decided to stay just the 2 as the room was awful but we had paid up front through booking. Com

We stayed here while visiting The Enchanted Forest in October, but I think it's the last time that we'll visit. We generally found everything really expensive in Pitlochry and the hotel was no exception. We paid around £240 for a family room for one night but as with most hotels in Pitlochry, it is in need of a major upgrade and the thing that surprised us the most was that there was no shower (something I never thought to check as I'd expect all hotels to have a shower these days). There was a shower head attached to the bath but no wall fixture, so the only option was to sit in the bath and hold the shower head above.
On a slightly more positive note, our children liked that the family room was almost like two separate rooms. When we had breakfast in the morning, the woman who served us said she was 'just helping out' but she was lovely and chatty.

Just spent a couple of nights in this hotel. I always try to give an honest review, so I will mention the good &;not so good points. Let’s start off with the not so good. Firstly, the room ( 4 ) was rather dated, with sort of 70’s furniture, also the bathroom was really cramped, with the toilet almost jammed between a radiator & the bath. The over the bath shower took a bit of getting used to, with the shower head having a life of it’s own. A revamp, with a wet wall shower would make such a difference & improve it so much.
We went out for the day, & when we got back our room hadn’t been serviced. No fresh towels & no bed made. On mentioning this to management, we were informed we would have to request to have our room serviced. I find that rather strange.
However, on now to the good. Staff were friendly, breakfasts were excellent, as was the evening meal we had in the restaurant which has a lovely outlook to the hills.
Ample parking & a 10 minute walk into town, so location is fine.
So, summing up, - overall, reasonable value for money, but really should service the rooms.

This is the first time we visited this hotel and we would definitely return. It was spotlessly clean and everyone was so pleasant. We asked for an accessible room and was given one (room 1) with no problem. Twin beds were lovely and large and plenty of coffee and tea with hot chocolate and biscuits (a nice touch) The bar was cozy and although we didn’t eat at the restaurant, the menu looked lovely. The breakfast was superb with a huge choice of food, freshly cooked and good quality. The waitress was so friendly (an asset to the hotel) if we are in the area again we would definitely book here again. Great value for money and can’t stress enough how friendly everyone was. Great views.

We stayed here for one night with our 3 year old son on our way home from the Highlands, and booked their 'Family Room' which is actually two adjoining rooms plus a bathroom. We were happy with everything overall - the hotel manager who greeted us at reception was friendly and professional, and let us check in early which was really appreciated. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was served quickly and was good quality. The checkout time of 11am was also a big plus for us. The only negative was the height of the ceilings in the rooms we had, particularly the twin bedroom. My husband is 6'2'' and thumped his head really hard on a low hanging part of the room several times - it would have been good if there were some kind of hazard tape or sign marking this out. Our rooms were on the second floor and the stairs were quite steep and narrow, so not ideal if you are travelling with small children. But overall I would say this hotel is better value for money than others of a similar pricepoint in Pitlochry.

Currently staying in room 10 at the Craigvrack, wonderful welcome and stunning double aspect views from our room. Room is traditional with a large shower and comfortable double bed, everything you need for a few nights stay. The big plus here is the on-site restaurant which I can honestly say has the best Indian food we’ve tasted. Staff here are very attentive and have made our stay a delight so far.
