This hotel was in a very good location for access to the town and theatre , parking available before check in on what was a very busy weekend in Pitlochry. Hotel has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We were with friends the standard of our rooms varied immensely. The rooms were very clean and beds comfortable however one had been refurbished and the other one not . One room was circa 1970 decor wise and had no shower ( only a shared one in the corridor which was not pointed out at check in ) price charged was rather high this being the standard of room given . Staff were all very pleasant and helpful . Breakfast had to be preordered several days in advance but was very good .

I sometimes get buried in the avalanche of online communication and miss reviews, as has happened in this case. I apologise for a very late response, therefore. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay, in the main, but thank you for sending a measured critique of the aspects that were less acceptable to you, rather than the torrent of rage that has crept into some sources of online commentary, with benefit to no one. I see that you all stayed over the Pitlochry Games and one person had an Economy room with bath, but no shower. We offered the shared shower room for convenience, but appreciate that not everyone uses a bath, so this might have presented as the only option in this case. Concerning prices, they are high across the region over the Pitlochry games, as every room within a 30 mile radius is more or less guaranteed to fill. We all do our best to provide an opportunity for folks to enjoy this spectacular area and modulate our charges according to demand so that we can remain in place to offer the same again in following years. The business environment has certainly toughened considerably of late. It's not always a good thing that market forces have such a strong hold over absolutely everything, however these are the rules that we are forced to follow. I think that, apart from the variance in room amenity, you have enjoyed your stay. We therefore hope to see you again some day.

This hotel was very comfortable. I’m often too hot in hotels but you can adjust the heating in this one. The bed was very comfortable too and we all slept well ( we were a party of 4, booked 2 double standard rooms). The added evening meal to our booking and the food was all delicious. There was a great variety to choose from. Breakfast was also great with lots of options to suit everyone. Rooms were clean and inviting. There was a large lounge to sit in and chat, which was great as you don’t want to disturb other people but we hadn’t seen each other in a while and had lots of catching up to do! Would recommend this hotel to others and we would go again. This hotel is competitively priced for the area, with discounts for booking early, so it is a great value choice as the amenities/ location and service is great. Another positive note is that I am very allergic to animals and this is a pet friendly hotel. I had no issues at all as rooms are either always pet free, or they’re pet friendly. Eating areas are also kept separate so I had no allergies/ asthma issues at all. The hotel do a great job at this so do book if this is what’s worrying you. If a dog owner there are very cute towels at the door to dry your dog off with before entering the hotel. It’s very well thought out!

Thank you for a delightfully detailed and helpful review. Any visitor wishing to learn more about Rosemount will get a lot of useful information from reading this account of your stay. We all work exceptionally hard and with a great deal of love and care - all with this level of guest reward at heart. It sounds as though you've had an all-round good time, which means everything to our team. Pitlochry is such a fabulous place and we want to be a big part of people's happy memories of the place. It's so good to read that your pet allergy was not triggered during your stay. We put many safeguards in place to ensure this outcome and there's a great deal of satisfaction in hearing, first-hand, that we have succeeded. Please come and visit again. It would be so good to see you!

We were looking for somewhere not too far away to have a short break with our young 9 month puppy. We found Rosemount on the web, recommended as a good dog friendly place to stay and it turned out to be the perfect place for our pup's first holiday ! The room was well furnished, clean and comfortable, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and our pup enjoyed all the attention that she got and especially her bowl of sausage each morning whilst we were having breakfast. It was a really relaxing place to stay with a lovely lounge and cosy bar. We shall be back and hope that the weather will be more like summer and enable us to enjoy the outside terrace with lovely views next time.

Hello and many thanks for your kind comments. This is precisely the guest-experience that we work extremely hard for on a daily basis. We know we will never please everyone to the pitch of perfection, especially at our price-point, with the difficulties associated with limitations of resource, but we can certainly try. The detail within your account affirms the things we are getting right and gives us determination to improve further. If we could find a way to influence the weather we certainly shall :-) :-) It would be a real pleasure to see you all again.

Beware. We need to cancel our room due to changes in our itinerary and after a week of trying repeated emails, failed phone calls, and unresponsive fax messages we still do not have a response from the Rosemount Hotel. My only recourse seems to be to start a dispute with our credit card company.
Also be aware, once you book they will then send an email revealing that if you cancel within 30 days of stay dates they will keep the deposit which at 80 GBP is most of the room charge. We are about 70 days out right now. .....are they screwing with us so that at 30 days out they can keep our deposit? who knows as they will not respond to repeated messages.

I have amended my response to this review. I found this person to be bullying in his approach to us after a delay in returning a deposit. I have a problem with the extent to which it is easy to bully folk online without having to face the instant response of the upset that it causes. It seems cowardly to me and a scar on human relationships in general. If only people of this tendency would speak online as they would if looking straight to the retina of the person they are referring to! The aforementioned deposit was actually returned within a few weeks of clear, well-explained contact - not quite the instant response demanded at the time of original communciation, but far better than many of our own experiences. It took this time because the original messaging was unclear, then we lost sight of the issue altogether. As a small business, we lack the resources to keep up with the bombardment of online communciations if we are unable to deal with matters instatly - an occasional occurence because no one, here, sits at a desk dealing with online matters all day. We have to cover many situations that naturally arise unexpectedly in a people-facing industry and we are not large enough to departmentalise for this. Most visitors find our small size our charm and understand that there may be certain aspects of our size that prevent the super, click-button efficiency of a larger organisation. We had explained this to the gentleman, but the abusive communciation continued.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Anne was extremely accommodating by organising a last minute early check in so that we were able to watch our late Queen’s funeral. We had upgraded to a larger room as we are touring Scotland accompanied by our Labrador dog and needed the space. The room didn’t disappoint, especially the view of the hills… beautiful! Lovely big comfortable bed with pillows just to our liking. Clean modern bathroom with a large shower( although the shower head may need to be looked at or the water pressure, as the flow was very weak) The breakfast was great and we didn’t mind the pre order system especially if it helps in reducing wastage. The lounge, bar and dining areas are beautifully decorated and furnished. My only slight recommendation would be to continue that style throughout into the bedrooms. All in all our short stay was very enjoyable and Anne and her staff couldn’t be more welcoming and friendly, especially to their guests with four paws! We would definitely return to Pitlochry and stay at the Rosemount hotel.

Thank you, sincerely, for a fablulous 5 star review. Everything you have mentioned has been carefully consumed and pondered upon. We are delighted to note your satisfaction and have digested your recommendations too. Water-pressure is a "seasonally-affected-disorder" within our town, I'm afriad. The delights of our location don't come cost-free and our water pressure is not the best during the 3 busiest months of the year. Each Winter we carry out work in mitigation, to try to increase the pressure from our stored water, and each Summer, the matter improves somewhat, but never quite to our satisfaction. Needless to say, we've another plumbing project already penned in for the Winter of 22-23! I'm delighted we could help with the early check-in and hope to see you again very soon! Best wishes

Hotel short walk from town centre although during our stay roads and pavements were atrocious with snow and ice, not hotels remit obviously. Room was lovely with huge bed plus small single, very comfortable for great sleep. Plenty of storage space plus hangers. When we arrived room was cold and we noticed gaps at side of sash windows ,plugged this with toilet paper which worked , told owner when checking out and she said I should have said and they would have sorted it. It was Hogmanay!! Bathroom great with walk-In shower although pressure wasn't great, towels were small and thin but just adequate. We were on a 2 day Hogmanay break which was enjoyable although entertainment was ok,just. Company was good and dogs enjoyed it, a really dog friendly hotel. Staff were very good and helpful and the food was a decent quality , don't expect draft beer but a good selection of bottled beers and spirits, wine wasn't the best. Would like to return to Pitlochry in better weather and would probably go back to the Rosemount in same room.

Cozy family hotel, with a lovely view over Pitlochry, plenty of parking and a comfortable room, with a small living room. Still very Covid orientated, with a one way route through hotel, lovely staff and made us feel at home. Limited menu due to no waste policy. You get a email with link to order breakfast online, also to reduce spilling food.

Hello and many thanks for a lovely write-up. It means a great deal to us that you have appreciated your stay and the ways we are trying to evolve with this quickly changing world of ours. Our one way system has proved to have far greater benefit than reducing crossing eachothers breathing space. It means that certain "pressure point" areas of the hotel, where there used to be a lot of potentially disturbing foot fall and closing fire doors, are now a lot quieter, with only half of their previous traffic. Our walls seem a lot less bashed from super-sized suitcases too, which means the place looks a lot nicer. I note that cleanliness took a lttle drop from our normal 5 out of 5. I hope you pointed out where you were less than 100% satisfied. we've a cupboard full of gizmos, cloths and chemicals that can take care of pretty much any mark or spill. i really hope we'll see you again. Perhaps when it's a little less hectic, so we can have time to chat. Have a lovely Summer.

We have stayed here numerous times. The room was spacious and the bed real comfortable. Rooms are well decorated and very clean. There is a big breakfast choose and it sets you up for the day. The Rosemount is in a lovely quiet location with great views over the top of the town towards the hills and mountains. It’s only a 5 minute walk down into the town. -Once again Ann and Keith made us and our dog Harris feel very welcome. When visiting Pitlochry this is our chosen place to stay and I’d 100% recommend it.

The hotel is well situated in Pitlochry with a short walk to the Main Street. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable with lovely food and a good selection of food. The owners are so welcoming and helpful and dog friendly and provide your pooch with a cooked sausage in their own bowl at breakfast time. Good value for money and would stayagain.

We stayed here for the Enchanted Forrest. The room was clean and just what we needed for an overnight stay. The hotel is around 7 minutes walk from the centre of Pitlochry and in a very quiet area.
Breakfast was booked in advanced and the hotel still seemed to be following strict Covid guidance which was maybe slightly overkill now. The staff were working very hard, but if there had been cereal, fruit and maybe bread/toaster in the breakfast area this might have eased the pressure on the staff at breakfast. Food was good.
The hotel is a little dated, but perfectly clean. We would stay here again and the kids loved how MASSIVE our room was. A great little hotel for the Enchanted Forrest.

Hello. Yes, dogs are welcome at Rosemount Hotel. We ask one or two courtesies, such as not leaving dogs unattended in rooms (guests may dine in the company of their pets) and using the park just across the road for "comfort" walks (handy red bins dotted about). We hope to have the pleasure of meeting you.
