Well where do you start. They tried to cancel my booking for ‘maintenance’ issues which in hindsight would have been a great thing however because The Open golf was on and there was nothing else available l persisted on honouring my booking. I arrived to find original room was unclean, this is a recurring theme, and the previous occupant obviously enjoyed smoking drugs as the smell was awful. I phoned someone on a foreign phone number and after an hour got another room. The rooms are like prison cells with no windows to look out they are all frosted glass. The room again smelled of drugs, the carpets were disgusting, the mattress was so old you could feel the springs. I moved the bed underneath was even more filthy, the extractor was so thick with grime I’m surprised it still worked and month old cobwebs covered the bathroom light. After day 2 there was no toilet paper so l went out and bought my own by day 6 the bin was overflowing (only cleaned once in my 10 day stay) the coffee and milk had also ran out no chance of getting anyone on ‘reception’. An actual golfer was booked in to the same guesthouse but got an email saying the booking was cancelled the day before he was arriving due to cleaning issues. The worst place l have ever stayed in the past 50 years. My reviews are honest and subjective how this is a licensed property must be a question for local authorities to answer. Avoid you have been warned.

This is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in my life. The smell of 'weed' on entering the building was disgusting. After eventually getting into the room it was un-hoovered and all surfaces were covered in dust, stains and tobacco. Customer services think because someone came Saturday afternoon to hoover this is acceptable. Quiet is not a word I'd use, we had someone battering on our door at 1am, other guests banging about till all hrs. AVOID!!

Absolute hell hole of a property. Prob would be placed somewhere better after your released from prison On arrival we got to reception and it's self service but no one had emailed us to let us know the access code to our room so we called the number that is on the wall, who struggled to understand our Scottish accent , finally got given our code and we headed to the room number 9. The walk through the corridors to get to our room was a fire hazard, over flowing bins, rubbish everywhere. On opening our room door, the smell of dampness over whelmed us, so we called the number again to complain, all the while noticing all the other disgusting faults to the room, broken toilet seat, dirty floors, mould, broken lamps, dirty vents, radiators, and food waste in the room. The person I spoke to was supposed to email me and I had to reply directly and attach the photos and log my compliant. That email never arrived. I have since taken up with hotel. Com who we booked it through who are trying to get us a refund, and also direct to payman club, who come up with excuse after excuse.

From the very start of our stay staff were very friendly our room had a complimentary bottle of wine with 2 glasses, it's was very clean,we had our evening meal in the restaurant starter arrived in no time main course arrived in less than 10mins as we ordered well done steaks food was amazing. Breakfast was great everything from continental and cooked self service cannot fault the price ,staff ,food ,cleanliness and facilities will be booking again very soon highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so amazing 👏.

Check in is beyond a joke, have to pay a £50 deposit for breakages, which told is paid back, (we will wait snd see) before given an access code, there is umpteen key safes, was given access code and had to go through majority before finding key. The room was small, there is a quiet hours policy from 20.00-8.00, dont think the neighbours knew this as was noisy and television up full blast could actually play a part in the tv programme they were watching . Knocked and was ignored, this went on through the night. I messaged the booking.com and also a number that text me to see if we got checked in. No sleep whatsoever,.. Please avoid this accommodation unless you dont mind staying awake all night and want to waste money.

We’re meant to stay here for three nights, we came back to our hotel after our second day to find all of our belongings were missing and other peoples things were in our room, we had no call or email to say they were doing this and had to find another place to stay last minute.
We came all the way from Manchester so we were left stranded in an unknown town with no solution, which is absolutely ridiculous and completely unsafe for three young girls.
This was a complete violation of not only our privacy but the guests whose belongings we walked in on as we STILL HAD OUR KEY!!!

The dirtiest place i have ever booked into. Shared toilet which was disgusting. Could hardly see through glass shower doors and sink was covered in soap and soap dish was all sticky. There was a mop bucket sitting outside toilet with filthy water in it which lingered throughout the accommodation. There were also tea or coffee stains all down chest of drawers in room. The room wasn't very clean either. Nobody to greet us on arrival but a number left to phone ann. 2 front doors unlocked. Anybody could walk in off the street. Never again. Went for a meal, rested and headed home. Couldn't have spent one night there. Please avoid at all costs

Absolute sh**e hole, minging, damp, dirrrty, stinks. Tv doesn’t work, smells of damp as soon as you open the door, bedding is very damp, bathroom not been cleaned since previous occupants, 2nights only due to work commitments thank f**k. Shed of a room! Manky!

it was very frustrating for me to arrive at the hotel after 7pm after working a 12hr shift at work. When I arrive there was nobody in the reception area to give me my keys for the room I booked for 2 nights. I had to ring paymans to find out what was happening.. They told me the key was in a safe, so they gave me a security number to open the safe to collect they key. But it didn't work I tried several times .. I then asked them to send someone to the hotel to give me the key for my room... it seemed as tho they didn't believe me the safe wasn't working.. the battery had died on the safe ..so it wouldn't open. They kep me waiting nearly a hour before they decided there was a master key box behind the counter. Then I was told the number to get my key from there. I was tired and annoyed by their lack of help. I deffo won't be going there again. They should have staff there 24/ 7 for the guests.

Would have given a zero but due to the rules 1 will have to do…. The builders onsite couldn’t apologise enough and rightly so…. I wouldn’t put my dog there for a night never mind A week!!! Wow I’ve seen better maintained prison sells!!! And definitely shouldn’t be training while having a refurb!!!
