Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for two days. Toilet/shower room was freezing as there was no heating. Bedroom warm enough with additional heater. Electricity went off for a couple of hours which was not ideal. For the money it was ok. Clean and secure. No staff to be seen but available by phone.

Nice little welcome basket in the room. Separate bedroom off main room in family room. View out the front across the harbour area. The room was adequate for a one night stay and great value for money if on a budget.

Stayed in family room on first floor which is a double room with adjoining twin room. Great value. Super view of harbour. Liked being able to come and go without passing via a reception. Good size tv in both rooms. Rooms cleaned daily.
Bad points: toilet small & inefficient plumbing, although shower worked well.

Would definitely stay again.

The bathroom door almost fell off (sliding mechanism apparently attached by Pritt Stick), the surface area was approx. 2.7m squared for two adults (yes, adults – not hobbits, actual genuine adults), the TV was mounted 2m above the floor giving us about 2m’s viewing distance, the soundproofing was incredibly poor (I could hear everyone banging about on the premises), the skirting boards were shabby in parts, the shower door wouldn’t close properly (and nor was the shower temp. easy to adjust) and the extension plug hung perilously from the ceiling. No, that isn’t a description of a Bates Motel set, but of an actual place you can pay to stay at in Irvine. I honestly should have slept in my car. Extremely disappointed indeed and was frequently awoken with the uneasy sense that the building was very perilous and in the verge of collapsing. Thoroughly unrecommended.

Booked to stay here for 7 nights for 2 people. To begin with, the room is far too small for 2 people. Extremely cramped. Also we werent informed that we would have a view of a massive building site. Also the garden terrace view is a actually a rubbish dump full of old broken furniture and other rubbish that was more likely once used in the building. We complained and were sent to stay in Adamton Country House Hotel which was in the middle of nowhere, not the beach view that we had wanted. In fact this hotel was awful but thats another story. The guy who owned Marine View must have got his mates to give good reviews as I cant understand why anyone would find this place adequate for even a one night stay. In fact when asked by Booking.Com why we left a bad review, the guy who owns Marine View even had the cheek to say we never even arrived.

My husband and I are just back from a weekend stay. The manager, Andrew, was very helpful and self check-in was so easy. We were in room 4, which had an excellent view. It is a budget room but had everything we needed and more; microwave and fridge, along with tea tray. I loved the decor and the colour of the duvet covers, very fresh and clean. On checking out, we met one of the staff (sorry, didn't get your name, you had long hair in a ponytail) and we were asked by him if we needed any help with our bags, etc., we didn't but this was so lovely and really appreciated. Great location. Hopefully we will get down again. Thsnks so much...we had a great time. Shell and Chris

We went for a night in the Marina after travelling a long distance, with it being the end of December and freezing temperatures outside we couldn't wait to get inside and heat up. Unfortunately to our surprise there was no heating on and no room heater at hand. We spent the whole night freezing cold without ANY sleep resulting in having to book another hotel through the day the next day to have a little sleep before traveling a long distance again. We even spoke about sitting in the car to heat up for a while. On top of this the tap in the bathroom was leaking and we had to listen to it run all night, to top it all off the toilet floor was wet around the toilet, might have been a leak behind he toilet, either way we had to put shoes on to use the toilet to stop our socks getting wet... So in all we spent the night sharing one single bed doubling up our duvets with all our clothes on, dreading the cold trip to the toilet having to leave the TV on to disguise the noise of the running tap with NO SLEEP having to then book the miller house hotel in Ayr to get 4 hours sleep before leaving for a long drive.

Stayed in Room 5a on Friday 3rd July 2015. Dingy. Smelly. Stained carpet. Toilet flush faulty. No sink plug. Sink cracked. Welcome pack - water missing only shortbread. Cheapest of cheap tea bags. Fridge door handle faulty. Shower too dirty to use. Very noisy place. Mattress needs replacing. Tried to contact staff on day of visit, left message on mobile answer machine but no-one got back to me. Bed linen not ironed. This is a doss house not worth a quarter of what we paid for a night. Sleep rough on the beach - you would be more comfortable.

Me and my wife stayed for 1 night during the Marymass festival. First of all the price was £35 ..so we had no real expectations.. but were pleasantly surprised. We had a comfortable well decorated en suite room with Wall mounted Tv ...fridge and microwave and as a bonus loads of goodies such as bottled water crisps and Shortbread. We will happily stay again. Its also right at Irvine Beach so that was handy.
