We had a pleasant enough stay here. Receptionist was very helpful and polite. All covid restrictions were adhere too. Hotel room was clean and bed very comfortable. It did state that it had recently been refurbished, unfortunately I can’t say that we noticed. Breakfast was nice and fresh. We would stay here again.

Very pleasant well run hotel, clean room, consumables easily requested at reception including towel and toiletries. Earplus provided in room as hotel is near to main dual carriageway but not an issue if window is shut. This can be a nuisance if showering late, you have to keep bathroom door shut in fear of setting off alarm. Therefore when you do open door, the room steams up so you have to have window open. Could do with bathroom ventilation. Small niggle really and never affected our sleep as we showered in mornings.

I read somewhere that Jurys Inn had a revamp in recent years. If that's the case, it feels like some money was spent on the frills but the fabric was totally neglected. Pros: - Swimming pool was well run and clean (separate business to the hotel) - Breakfast was consistently good over a few days - Restaurant food was OK, but nothing to write home about. Cons: - The room was dirty (see photos). The outside of our door had a brown smear next to the handle - no idea what it was but needless to say, I didn't explore it too much. Our carpet was dirty and stained - the hotel budget clearly didn't stretch to a decent carpet clean. Our bathroom had a cringeworthy shower curtain and the door had sharp broken edges (we had a 4-year old staying in the room). - The hotel itself was dirty. While we were there, a broken cup stood untouched on the floor next to the lift until we left 4 nights later. Somebody had split something sticky in the lift and it also remained untouched the whole time we were there. - The staff were not particularly friendly or engaging and could benefit from more training. On two occasions at the bar, I witnessed the bar manager slam down the phone to a colleague, bad mouth them, and could clearly see the two girls working at the time were afraid to engage with him. - The room was noisy - we were staying in an Exec room with sofa-bed for our 4-year old. His space was right beside the lift shaft which proved a little disturbing, especially when a wedding for 95 people took place one of the nights. Not to mention the fire alarm going off at 10 pm (false alarm). Overall, I was very unimpressed and will not be staying with the hotel again, by myself or with family.

Good morning nigelr345, Thanks for staying with us and leaving a review. I'm pleased you enjoyed the swimming pool, the breakfast and the restaurant food. I am sorry that you found the hotel not to meet our usual cleanliness standards. Unfortunately, even now, external factors outside of our control have made it difficult for us to deliver our usual standard of product and service. The impact of the pandemic, the shortage of available labour, and supply chain issues continue to present significant challenges for the hospitality industry. As a result of these factors, in this instance, we fell short of our usual cleanliness standards and for this I sincerely apologise. We are working with our housekeeping teams to ensure that this issue does not re-occur and we hope that we can have a chance to welcome you back to Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels in the near future. Stayed overnight while driving the Highlands. The room was quite good and does what is needed, beds comfy. But if you get one at the back it looks over a DFS store and some sort of ventilation facility which is noisy, the windows are old and don't keep it all out. We were given the wrong room to start, as we had a similar name to other guests and weren't asked for our reference number, so after some up and down from the rooms to reception and confusion it was rectified. We were given a free breakfast to compensate, but only when I prompted. By far the worst thing is the food, just dont bother eating there. In the area there is nowhere to eat except a lone KFC across the road, but for sure get a taxi or something into the town. The food was the worst I've probably ever experienced while travelling, £14 for a microwaved tinned hotdog, and £16 for a frozen microwaved pizza! To add to it as part of a large group, the waiter decided to split the cost evenly across all of our rooms rather than let us pay individually. So our bill was actually for more than we had, and caused lots of challenges for reception in the morning while everyone complained and had to have their bill altered. Also the menu was so badly printed it was hard to read, like you needed 3D glasses. Scored 3 only because the bed was comfortable and the staff rectified issues quickly with no fuss.
