Brilliant! I have used this great hotel for 4 years now and they have always gone beyond. Rooms are Very clean and comfortable. Great mattresses. Breakfasts are always a delight. Just on the river and within easy walking distance to the main town, so a perfect quiet location. I would recommend this to anyone and always recommend it to friends and work colleagues. A gem and a credit to all its very kind and hospitable staff.

The reviews we read before booking were not indicative of the mediocre hotel room that we found when we arrived. The gin bar was stocked well-enough but we knew more about the gins than the people serving it. Dinner was odd - things were combined which made the worst of each other instead of complimenting each other. That said, breakfast was good.

Response from General Manager, General Manager at Glenmoriston Townhouse Hotel

Hi Arp, thanks for the frank review of your stay. The majority of guests have a very different experience to yourselves, so I'm not sure how to address the issues you raised. Our rooms are all very well-appointed with lots of extras like a sweetie jar, Nespresso machine, bathrobes and slippers, plus our bedding is the same as used by HM Queen Elizabeth, so we were hoping for something a bit more than adequate. Given that we have 60 gins, 260 malts and an extensive wine cellar our staff are as knowledgeable about gins as possible, We are always grateful to learn more, so thanks for any bon mots you were able to pass on. In terms of the menu, I can see from your photos that you picked off the skin from the sea bass which is a personal preference but to say the food combinations were odd and brought out the worst in the ingredients I feel is a bit of an exaggeration. The restaurant is popular with local and visitors alike with a waiting list on weekends. We've had no complaints of odd combinations, quite the opposite in fact! The team are working hard in extremely challenging times, and I'm sorry that we didn't click with you. Having read some of your other reviews I'm not altogether surprised .

Glenmoriston is our favourite restaurant/pub and boy did it not disappoint. Family dinner to celebrate the wee bosses birthday and the food matched the occasion. Pumpkin soup, venison and chocolate tart were my choices and each course was stunning. Big thanks to the staff, they always go out of their way to create a great relaxing environment. Thanks guys and look forward to spending more time in the piano bar in ‘22.

We stayed in December and the (only) radiator in the room was only lukewarm, so the room was cold during the day and very cold at night. There was no heating whatsoever in the bathroom, not even a heated towel rack, so the bathroom was freezing cold the whole time. The room price wasn't too bad but their restaurant prices are ridiculous - there are other restaurants close by that are just as nice at much better prices.
