Detailed Reviews
My husband and I spent 2 nights here on a 'tour' of Scotland. It was ideally located for John O'Groats, Dunnets Head and for day trips to Orkney. No trouble with parking. Proprietors were helpful and friendly. Great B+B and we would go back.

Stayed here for two nights back in August and was very impressed by 1 Janet Street. The welcome was second to none, the owners were attentive - indeed, they even gave my partner a card a wee prezzie at breakfast on the morning of his 40th birthday. A very special and thoughful touch...
The twin room we had at the top of the house was very quiet, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was also excellent.
All in all, this was a great stay and we highly recommend No 1 Janet Street

Good location, good breakfast but the attic bedroom ceilings are low and not ideal for people over 6 foot!! The shower is over the bath and I am only 5ft 5 and I struggled to stand under it and the water temperature was very temperamental. The accommodation was comfortable but could so with some TLC.

My husband and I spent a lovely 3 days staying here and we had a wonderful time. Our room was lovely and so fresh and clean, we had fresh towels every day and the bathroom was again clean and fresh. The owners were friendly and very helpful, our breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day. I would recommend this B & B to anyone who likes clean and fresh accommodation.

1 Janet Street--the name of the B&B and the address in Thurso--is a more than 200 year old listed building and now a great B&B. The rooms are big with nice views and Catriona Tait is a charming friendly host. Even though the B&B is on the main road into Thurso (convenient) the room was quiet. Location is wonderful: across the street from a river walk and only a ten minute walk from the main part of town. Catriona had good recommendations for dinner. We loved our stay.

Talk about feeling like one of the family! This is the friendliest, loveliest B&B I have visited for a long time. Lovely people, great food, great coffee and wonderful company. Nothing is ever a bother. Will definitely be back!

My friend and I spent one night at this B&B which was outstanding in every way. There were no 'frills' in the accommodation but it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and Catriona's welcome and genuine pleasure in giving her guests the most enjoyable stay, possible, was evident throughout her home, Convenient for the railway station and pleasant walks on the beach. A peaceful and relaxing stay!

We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the room given the unprepossessing look of the entrance hall. We had the double room which was nice with a comfortable bed. The only criticism is the lack of bedside tables and lights. Delicious breakfast and Catriona was very friendly and helpful. An ideal place to stay if you are catching the ferry at Scrabster.
