The Maldron Hotel Glasgow enjoys a central location, popular among guests for its proximity to city attractions and transport options. The atmosphere is often described as welcoming, with clean and stylish rooms that boast modern amenities and comfortable beds.
While many praise the cleanliness and the friendly staff, some travelers have experienced inconsistencies in service and room temperature control. Although the hotel's value is debated due to higher pricing and costly breakfasts, the overall guest experience is typically rated positively.

Detailed Reviews
Check in was efficient with very helpful and friendly staff
The hotel is new and very clean throughout. The room was nice however there is a lack of storage space. We stayed for a couple of days but found we had to live out of our suitcases as there is very little available to store/hang your clothes. If you were to stay for several nights this could become an issue and an inconvenience. The room is modern, clean and had tea/coffee making facilities. There was also air conditioning but this didn’t appear to work as it decided to blow hot air in the night making the room very uncomfortable. I did query this at reception, who reset it, but it still didn’t work so we switched it off
The hotel has a strange room cleaning policy which you are not told about at check in. Your room won’t be cleaned unless you request it. Apparently, this is to respect your privacy, but we thought it was down to cost cutting as we don’t really think anyone would not want their room cleaned each day. We did request his, but it wasn’t done. We had to request clean towels three times including visits to reception, so room cleaning is more a DIY task for guests, not what I expected at a 4 star rated hotel
The breakfast and restaurant area was lovely, but surprisingly no fried eggs!
Hopefully, the difficulties we encountered were down to teething problems as on a positive note, the hotel is in a great location, the staff are friendly, and it is very clean and modern. They do need to reconsider the room cleaning policy, we felt it should be opt out rather than having to opt in
This was are first visit to Glasgow and we did enjoy the city and its people

We stayed at the Maldron hotel Glasgow last week. What makes it stand out from its competitors is their staff and their hospitality.
I have stayed at the Marriotts, Hilton and many other brands but nothing to match the warmth I received from the staff at the Maldron Hotel Glasgow right from reception desk to breakfast our expectations were only exceeded. Jennifer at check-in was lovely. Lewis at the breakfast was exceptional with his smiling face. To my bad luck one of the mornings, everything I reached for at breakfast seemed to have run out on the buffet, and Lewis was swift and quick in catering to my needs, be it hot milk or eggs to order. David at the breakfast too has been amazing. I am a pure vegetarian and I failed to find any vegetarian restaurants around, finally ended up at the restaurant downstairs but was late, Viorel did go and check with the chefs but unfortunately the kitchen was closed. Usually statf don't care if a guest goes hungry but Viorel didn't give up and tried to offer options but me being a pure vegetarian couldn't opt for any of them. I asked for cookies/biscuits and he very kindly offered to bring it up to my room. I thought he would send a staff member, but to my surprise he himself came up and delivered the cookies, I was shocked as he is a manager, unusual sight to witness. This place doesn't work on hierarchy, everyone seems to be leading by example with managers and heads working side by side with their teams. One such example is seeing the hotel manager Hazel welcoming the guests at breakfast.
We were wandering around in the hotel clicking pictures and wanted to visit the gym, had no clue how to access it until we ran into Lewis from the front desk who very kindly offered to go and get the keys to access the gym. Rinkesh at the bar helped us arrange for some coffee on the go as we had an early flight to catch back home to London and wouldn't be there for breakfast. He informed the bar supervisor Johnny who made sure the coffee cups were placed by the machine and also informed the night team. What I loved was the communication between them as I didn't have to repeat or ask for it again and again, which usually is the case in big hotels. Johnny is a lovely man, very chatty and hospitable. He also made us some lovely cocktails and mocktails. At check out, John at the front desk had already arranged for our coffees and yogurts. Thank you John for a smooth hassle free check out.
The hotel is very clean and tidy and safe to stay during these uncertain times. I highly recommend this hotel.
Thank you once again Maldron Glasgow for an amazing stay, the memories have been etched in my heart.

Good location. Was booked in here for a family get together in June, unfortunately it was the same weekend that Ed Sheeran had a couple of gigs so cost of booking hotel was a higher than I preferred.
We ate out so did not visit the restaurant. Generally a nice hotel though I think rating it 4 star just a tad generous. Very quiet, no noise from adjoining rooms or corridor, with the window shut no traffic noise either.
The hotel has been open for less than a year so was disappointed to see scuff marks on the walls and a couple sections of sealant parting company from the floor in the shower room. Nice that there was coffee facilities in the room but some of the coffee sachets were several months out of date.

Think this new hotel in Glasgow is the latest opening of the Maldron Chain ….Irish based? And a first in Scotland….?
So, as you would expect, everything is brand new and feels quite comtempory in both the public spaces and in room features. Rooms are small with virtually no storage space and although the bathroom had a large shower cubicle the water temperature produced from there and the sink tap was tepid at best!
Breakfast was a somewhat chaotic affair with food!utensils running out and staff working very hard to keep tables cleared. I was very conscious of a lot of food waste as can be the case with buffet style service.
There is a good selection of budget accommodation in this city district, so Maldron will have to work to differentiate its brand from the rest….their opening rate offer is good, but that alone may not tempt returning customers if the service and other provisions are not spot on.
Would like to see some improvements and might consider giving this hotel another booking down the line as it has some nice modern features and of course excellent central location

Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by receptionist who checked me in and went through all the need to know details. My room was large with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable. The room was serviced daily which was a pleasant surprise from some of the hotels I’ve stayed in lately where there was no housekeeping unless you requested it at reception.
Breakfast was a full on affair with everything you could possibly want.
This is a hotel I will definitely be recommending to colleagues visiting Glasgow. The location is ideal and I can’t wait for my next visit.

My partner and I stayed here for one night on Saturday evening. Check in was hassle free and the staff were nice enough. As this was a new hotel the decor was fresh and modern, only down side with the room was there was no fridge, no glasses and it was a little on the small side. We went into the city for a nice evening and when we came back, that’s when things went downhill rapid. Upon entering there was a security guard shouting at the top of his voice the bar is closed and ushering everyone to their rooms. He was more like a bouncer from a nightclub and quite rude. This was just after midnight. We were quite peckish so decided to order room service. We asked for pizza and soft drinks but were told they do not serve soft drinks from the restaurant? We asked about vending machines, there were none. So basically nothing to wash it down with. The pizza was absolutely stone cold and uncooked. We swiftly returned it and my partner had to walk around to find a small shop with wraps and soft drinks. Not ideal when you don’t know Glasgow well. Breakfast was really nice with a good selection and decaf lattes/cappuccinos were available. Overall it was an okay stay but we likely wouldn’t stay here again if I’m honest as we’ve stayed in much nicer, friendlier places with everything a hotel should offer. We thought it would be that bit extra being new and on the higher price bracket...it wasn’t. I’d find better.

Stayed in an executive room.
Check in was smooth, no queue. We parked at the Cambridge Street car park, got out ticket validated, £8 for 24 hours - highly recommended, only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
Our room was near the top, so not affected by noise from the ground. It was a corner room, with excellent views of the city from both sides of the room. The room was spacious. Slippers and robes provided. Usual coffees/teas, and coffee machine, although there were no decaf pods. No bath, but good shower. Poor on toiletries, there were only one hand wash by the sink, and one combined shampoo/shower gel. There was nothing else, no shower cap etc, therefore remember to bring your own conditioner! The bathroom would also benefit from some hooks for clothes and towels, there were no hooks.
The plumbing from the toilet is audible despite the bathroom door being shut.
The air conditioning was quiet, which is a plus, as I often find hotel air conditioning noisy, and had to turn them off to sleep.
The bed is comfortable. Great to see power and USB sockets by either side of the bed, all hotels should have these, thank you! However, the phone on the left side of the bed occupied most of the small bedside table, making it unusable.
There were 4 sockets by the cabinet where the coffee machine and kettle were. BUT, the kettle lead DOES NOT reach the sockets! Had to boil water with the kettle on the floor, this is the biggest negative part of the room!
Breakfast was enjoyable. Most things available, but surprised not to see any Haggis. The black pudding were overly done, they were almost burnt and inedible. There were also crumbs on the seats. We would like to commend Sharon, she was very friendly and helpful, she should be the face of the hotel, thank you Sharon.
Bar area was relaxing, plenty of seating area. Check out was easy.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, I would recommend it. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Central hotel. The bus , train and subway stations are all within a 10 min walk. Rooms were clean , tea and coffee were supplied but as with most hotels lacking in coat hangers , however this was remedied when we contacted housekeeping. Shaun on the bar was very helpful and went beyond to serve us food and drinks Sunday night. My only criticism would be the expensive breakfast £16 on the day £14 if booked before hand. I only had cereal , tea and toast so this was a lot , perhaps a simpler breakfast could be provided. I would stay again though.

Wowcher deal.
Check-in was slick and the receptionist explained everything to us re: lifts and breakfast.
Our rooms were on the third floor, not much of a view but quiet and away from the Main Street.
Room was clean and tidy, comfy bed, fluffy towels and had a great shower.
We used our vouchers for drinks and then paid for another round. Bartender was attentive but got wrong drinks order ( think he is still learning so we can forgive!).
Breakfast was really good and had lots of choice. A vast improvement from when the Maldron first opened.
A few suggestions:
Still no biscuits on the tea tray, Why not?
Tunnocks tea cake/ wafer ( something Scottish?)
Better black pudding ( Husband said it was awful , visitors will be put off by the taste).
More gluten free products, cakes, pastries,
( move toaster so you don’t have to stretch ( not hygienic) over the gluten free bread,
Fried eggs at breakfast, please!!!!
Mini fridge in all rooms
Lower bar prices -£12 for a gin and mixer is a bit steep!!
I can honestly say we really enjoyed our stay and with another few changes would have given 5 stars!
I see a vast change from when you first opened and now that staff seem to know what they are doing the whole hotel seemed to run smoothly.
Value for money and a pleasure to stay this time.
Very well done to all the staff at the Maldron hotel.

We’ve had a tremendous stay at the hotel with our 17 month old toddler. it’s in a really handy central location and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome- the friendly staff were attentive and flexible.
We had arranged an early check in at a small cost so that our little boy could nap. We were moved into a family room instead of the double room booked which was perfectly suited to us and were offered a crib if needed (this wasn’t required due to the large bed and additional single bed.) Some hotels make this difficult and expensive to add on but it was no problem.
The room is perfect- clean, fresh, good temperature and spacious bathroom with all amenities and a decent shower. We have been situated in a quiet spot of the hotel so haven’t been disturbed by any noise.
We had a bit of a toddler related spillage on the bed during the night and the staff were incredibly understanding, kind and accommodating.
We really enjoyed breakfast and the evening meal we had here- plenty of choice and the seasonal menu is good value. The coffees and cocktails are delicious too and staff in all departments have been exemplary and smartly presented.
We are very impressed and will definitely be back to stay in the future. We will let family and friends know how family friendly it is too.

No harm in phoning them to find out. I found the staff very helpful. Good luck 👍.
Yes, Sainsbury grocery. Poundland is like a dollar store and even closer. A few blocks away is Boots which is like CVS or Walgreens.
