Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Classy hotel in wonderful area!!!
We stayed for three nights with our daughter and young family and I can honestly say that it was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in, in the U.K.!
It is so welcoming and the staff are first class. Agnieszka,(the owner) was always on hand and gave us excellent tourist advice. The rooms are spotless, spacious and very quiet, the bed was so comfortable and lovely to relax in after a tiring day sightseeing!.The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this wonderful hotel!

Personally, I have been slightly disappointed with this. I was not expecting much as I decided to go cheap as I was only over for a couple of days; the building is beautiful from the outside but my room (which was below the ground floor) looked very old fashioned. The furniture in either the bedroom and the bathroom was quite old and outdated-looking, I did have a kettle in the room but I had to leave the room to go and fill it up as the bathroom was private but detached.

Also, the location is slightly out of Glasgow city centre so if you don't have a car, take into account that it might take 30/40 mins ish from there to the centre.

The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you're just looking somewhere cheap to sleep for a night or 2 then you will be happy. Doesn't offer many other positives...

The whole place needs a facelift.

The floors are creaky. I arrived late and left early so can't imagine the people below me had many positives to say about me!

The shower was like a dripping tap. The water is warm but the flow was so slow it was barely fit for purpose.

Hotel is well out from city centre, parking is on street and very limited on a sat night. I got very lucky to get the last space in the street.

The bar only serves alcohol until 10pm so no drinks if arriving late.

This was our third stay here and I have to say we were extremely disappointed. First of all, it is more like an Airbnb property with no visible staff present in the hotel, a key box outside your door and no bar or restaurant due to covid.

Secondly, the room itself did not feel clean. Lightbulbs were out, used facemasks stuffed behind the furniture and stains on the bedding. The radiator in the bathroom was stuck on the hottest level so the place was like a sauna.

We stayed on the top floor and the other guests were extremely noisy, shouting until 1.30am and standing outside smoking at the front door which our room was just above. When I phoned reception to complain at midnight, the fire alarm just went off. Whilst I appreciate this was not the hotels fault, nobody came to inform us what was going on or tell us if it was a false alarm or not. There were then people gathered outside some of which were peeing in the street when the fire brigade arrived. We had no idea what was going on.

Needless to say we got very little sleep and did not enjoy our stay. After contacting the owner to complain directly they did apologise but said they have decided to prioritise business survival over customer experience right now..

My family, friends and I stayed at the Belhaven hotel for 2 nights over my wedding weekend and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for everything ❤️

Beautiful wee hotel in leafy area. Doesn’t do evening meals but lots of restaurants nearby. I had a gorgeous room, spotless and full amenities. Breakfast included and it was excellent - continental and also fully cooked options, all fresh & included in overnight cost. Highly recommend.

We booked an overnight stay last minute and were excited to stay in this hotel. We never even made it through the door the service was so poor. The information provided on the website was opposite to the information on the phone line. We followed all of the instructions given on the phone line and in the emails and message we had been sent. We were consistently cut off. After 20 mins standing in the rain and more than a dozen attempts to contact Anyone by phone and email with absolutely no success we had no choice but to book in elsewhere.

Finally, an hour after checking in to a different hotel we had contact from the Belhaven. There was no apology offered or explanation for the poor service and there has been a refusal to offer a refund on the stay or rather the non stay!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our room (11) was spacious, clean, warm, and comfortable, with views over Great Western Road. No problem with traffic noise though. The hotel is is Glasgow's West End, not far from Byers Rd. Short walk to restaurants, pubs, bus stop, and underground. Superb cooked breakfast (extra cost) was served in the cosy bar area with a fire. Nice friendly staff.

The room was quite dimly lit. A brighter light would be useful if you wanted to read comfortably.

We was due to stay on 5th July, but with Guns n Roses cancelling at the last minute,we cancelled our room. We emailed them but were greeted with an unfriendly, unhelpful reply from Roland. Booking. Com asked them if they would compromise and go half with the bill but they refused point blank. So when I called Roland,he bawled at me down the phone for ten minutes. Don't need this behavior and attitude at all especially as we've been so badly let down by the band the night before. Not impressed at all.

Sorry, not sure as we hired a car from the airport and drove to the hotel directly. The airport to the hotel is about a 20 min drive depending on traffic times during the day. Hope this is of some help.
