Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a town centre location just next to a busy dual carriageway so don't expect to sit outside for a quiet drink if traffic isn't your thing. But the staff make up for that shortfall. They are very personable and waited the tables very well, and the restaurant is kept spotlessly clean.

Had a lovely stay at the Premier inn in Glenrothes, booking was really easy, we did it online and paid for breakfast.

The breakfast buffet was delicious and topped up very quickly.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the receptionist, I can't remember her name but she had lost her voice, but battled through it.

The hotel is located just off a roundabout but it's far enough away that you can't hear the road noise, prefect for light sleepers.
There is a few shops near by, all within a 5min walk, including a McDonald's.

Arrived at the Glenrothes Premier Inn, which was nice and easy to find. There was plenty of car parking directly outside the main entrance. We were slightly early for check in but popped in to ask if we could leave the car to grab food at the Brewers Fayre next door, we were surprised that our room was actually ready and we’re given the keys. The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming, as were all staff members during our stay.
Our room was located in a nice quiet part of the hotel on the ground floor, it was lovely and clean, with a bath and shower. It was -13 during our visit and there was adequate heating in the room to control ourselves.
Sadly the temperature of our hot water for having a bath was Luke warm at best but that was the only issue we had.
We ate next door on our first night and the food was delicious, hot and fresh and again the staff were lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our whole stay and to top it off on our last night the cleaners must of noticed our wedding anniversary cards to each other and they left us a really thoughtful congratulations note and a little personal touch.
If we’re ever in Glenrothes again this is definitely where we will be staying.
Thank you to all the team

My partner and I stayed here last week. She paid for it as part of my birthday present. My son lives nearby so we used the hotel as a base.

Upon arrival, the outside shrubbery was completely overgrown, what once was pretty, it’s now no more than a jungle.

The room was the usual Premier Inn standard. Very clean, and tidy. Unfortunately, the room was very hot 🥵 and very tired. There was a room temperature gauge on the wall which gave the impression of it being an air conditioning control. It wasn’t!!!!

The standard of decoration throughout the hotel was very tired. In the restaurant area it had been painted yellow and someone had painted it sky blue. Again, unfortunately whoever painted it forgot to comeback and finish the job. Shocking really. The carpet in the dining room was very threadbare in places.

Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag on both days. (We’d paid for 3 but didn’t go on the 3rd day) sausages were either overcooked or undercooked. Bacon was good, as were the scrambled and fried eggs. Coffee was good.

We’ve been staying at Premier Inns around the country for years, but the last few have been tired also. I think it may be time to look elsewhere.

Good location and friendy staff though the room was boiling even with the fan on and the window open and the seemingly ongoing policy of only cleaning rooms when asked meant that our room was in need of a few minor repairs and was a little the worse for wear. We did ask for clean towels to be provided each day though until mid way through our stay this didn't happen resulting in having to go to reception to complain, so not impressed with the level of customer service. That said the staff were apologetic and happy to help, so it wasn't all bad. Not one of our better Premier Inn stays.

Good location and everything as expected at a Premier Inn. Stayed once before and knew what to expect. Comfy bed and good shower although some water pressure issues at times.
Staff very welcoming and easy to deal with.
Maybe skip breakfast as it us the same items every day and gets a bit boring after a couple of days. Avoid the coffee as it is undrinkable. Even worse do not order a coffee outside breakfast times, as you will be directed to the same machine. £3 something wasted on rubbish.
Good for short stays but not longer.

I have stayed in quite a few Premier Inn hotels over the years. There’s usually a standard of fixtures & fittings you come to expect until you stay in Glenrothes.

It’s tired and definitely needs investment. Carpets throughout the hotel look threadbare and unclean, everywhere could do with some redecorating & updating. My room was very basic & while the bathroom was clean the bedroom just looked very tired.

Brewer’s Fayre for breakfast was uninspiring with orange squash rather than fresh orange. Coffee machine provided a “coffee light” experience, not a great amount of fresh fruit on offer.
Anyway, I survived, nothing untoward happened but as a company there really needs to be investment in this hotel if it is to match the usual standard of a Premier Inn.

Premier inn Glenrothes provided a one night stopover, room, reception welcome and standards were as expected but the breakfast was provided the Brewers Fayre next door and was terrible. Really not worth the extra 20 pounds. If you are aske d to order your unlimited cooked breakfast be very specific, if you ask for Aviv breakfast like the menu image displays you will not get it, you will get one of each item. The quality of the cooked food was cheap, I've never had a sausage served with no colouring at all, it looked like it had just left the packet. Everything else had soaked up rather unpleasant tasting oil/grease. Cereal was a choice of one. Bread, crumpets were uncovered. Would not recomnend, feel Premier Inn for everything right but the stay was spoiled due to the awful breakfast.

The bed was very comfy (and high!), and the room was large and quiet enough for the one night we stayed. There was only one electrical socket at one side of the bed, so I had to charge my phone etc. over at the dressing table, while my husband charged his at the bed. There was a large chip in the enamel in the bath and the shower was hot but it didn't get to the temperature my husband would have liked, though the tap water did get hot enough. There were plenty of mirrors in the room including a full length one, but no ironing facilities at all. There was a hairdryer, and there was shower gel and handwashing gel in the bathroom, but nothing like hand cream or even just shampoo. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no bottled water. I get that this is not classed as Luxury accommodation and Premier Inn really just serves a purpose for short stays but these small additions would have been welcome.
We had breakfast in the affiliated Brewer's Fair next door, where there was plenty of choice (you helped yourself) and we had the full English. It was all hot which was a nice surprise as it had all been sitting in the dishes, but the Black Pudding didn't look 'right' and it definitely didn't taste 'right'. I think it may have been preciously frozen, I'm not sure. The bacon was a little greasy and dripped when I held it up. Apart from those issues the breakfast was ok, and as the Brewer's Fayre was tied to this Premier Inn I've included it in this review.

The room smelt of sewers / drains very badly. It was also cold as the window had been left open, obviously to get rid of the bad smells, but it didn't work. We had to leave the bathroom light (therefore the extractor fan) on all day and night with the bathroom door closed to keep the smell out of the bedroom. There was only one armchair to relax in. The other chair was for a dressing table. Although we had booked in advance there weren't enough bath towels for both of us, and I had to ask for another pillow each. I was even told that they usually only supply one hand towel per room whether there is one or two people in the room.

Better take an alarm clock as there is no phones in the rooms or set your alarm on your phone if you have one
