A home away from home... Castle Park Guest House is a contemporary take on a traditional Edinburgh Victorian townhouse. A place where classic meets modern and where a homely feel gets a touch of elegance and luxury. Scottish culture and our own experiences when travelling have influenced the design of the guest rooms with stylish furnishings, soft fabrics and elegant finishes complementing the original features of the house. Modern comforts and a touch of history add to the warmth and personality of the rooms. Our aim is to create a friendly welcoming home away from home, where you can relax, unwind and enjoy all that Scotland’s capital city has to offer.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Upon arrival, David warmly welcomed me, helped me get settled, and then helped me to efficiently plan my time in Edinburgh. I met Ian at breakfast who was gracious and tantalized guests with delights from the kitchen. The sumptuous and gorgeous breakfast did not disappoint. The Inn was tastefully appointed and spoke of a quiet elegance. In summary, every aspect of my visit was charming, memorable, and made even more so by the attentiveness of Innkeepers David and Ian. Thank you so much for your meaningful role in my first, but not last, visit to Edinburgh.

Was everything and more we expected from the previous 5* reviews. Ian and David so friendly and attentive. We loved our stay there and will definitely go back. Breakfasts are plentiful and freshly cooked and with Ian’s home baked bread are a delight to have.

Great bnb, everything is in top condition. Most comfortable bed ever. Standard room is small though sufficient. Ian and David are people who sweat every detail, nothing has been left to chance or unconsidered. Breakfast was delicious, we’ll be back

David and Ian were amazing hosts and I can’t wait to go back to Castle Park! The breakfast in the morning was delicious and my room was clean and comfy. If you are looking for a centrally located inn with attentive hosts and a cozy room, look no further!

We were fortunate enough to stay with David and Ian over the Easter holidays (a bit of a late review…) and it was absolutely amazing! The whole place is stunning, they have refurbished it to the highest standards! The room was beautiful, with everything you need to have a perfect stay. Breakfast was superb! As a vegan family they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food and had all we needed to have a lovely, healthy and well made meal. They make their own bread, serve some Scottish specialities and always have plant based alternatives for you. Ian is an amazing host and David is the best chef in Edinburgh! This lovely guest house is located very close to restaurants, walking distance to bus stops, parks or even touristic places. Something I cannot forget to mention: I loved that every room is named after a different Scottish clan, the deco has lots of black and white, which I love. So classy! David and Ian do take care of every single detail, they are sweet, attentive and very helpful. We can’t wait to come back, because we are definitely coming back!

Ian and David were fantastic hosts…so helpful for getting around the city and suggestions for nearby restaurants. Wonderful breakfasts with lots of choices. Bruntsfield area is ideally situated (20 minute walk to Princes St or Haymarket or quick bus right outside B&B). Steep staircase which could be a problem for people with mobility issues but hosts offered to carry bags up to room if required. If we returned to Edinburgh we would stay here again for sure!

We had a wonderful experience at Castle Park Guest House. Ian and David know how to run a guest house and that is shown from the very beginning. Being our first time to Edinburgh, they were most gracious in sitting with us upon our arrival and making recommendations for restaurants, tours, etc. Their suggestions were wonderful. Our guest room had been renovated recently with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Their breakfast service was the best that we've experienced in our travels to bed and breakfasts. The guest house is about a 20 minute walk from the Royal Mile but for us the walk was not at all an issue. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality Ian and David.

Castle Park Guest House totally exceeded our expectations. The house was totally renovated just 2 years ago. Everything is new, thoughtfully furnished, smells fresh, and very clean. We loved the king sized bed, and the cook to order breakfast was as good as it gets. With a day pass, we traversed the city using a bus that stops just 2 doors down from the house. We also had wonderful recommendations to a lovely local gastropub that served the best fish and chips. If we ever returns to Edinburgh, we would definitely stay here again.

David checked us in with a glass of Cava and gave us a brief guide to Edinburgh with local info, as good a s a tourist information office! The bed in our room was really comfortable, en-suite facilities excellent. The room itself wasn't spacious but plenty big enough for our 3 night stay. Breakfast served by Ian was superb, everything we could want for breakfast, no wastage but as much as we wanted. Location is excellent, easy walk into the city and on a bus route if you need it. We intend visiting Edinburgh again and wont consider staying anywhere else!

After a day out and about there is nothing better when traveling than coming back to a perfect room. Spacious, clean, light and just plain comfortable!! Fantastic bed and very thoughtful amenities. Excellent and close (literally across the street) access to public transportation to just about anywhere in the city. The breakfasts were fresh, abundant and served in a relaxing atmosphere. Last but certainly not least, our hosts Ian and David were also amazing with spot on recommendations for places to eat and see in Edinburgh. We couldn’t have asked for more!! We look forward to our next trip to stay with them!!
