Only access to our room was at reception and our room was a long way along a corridor with stairs at intervals ( the hotel is on a slope). Our car was parked just outside the window of our room but there was no way of getting to it except through reception. Being over 80 we found it all rather difficult. Our bedroom had a very comfortable king sized bed but the room was rather basic. In the bathroom only soap on a dispenser on the wall was available- any other toiletries had to be requested from reception - we did not bother. The restaurant had a wonderful view over the River Tay and the food was good but the serving staff were unenthusiastic- perhaps diverted by two coaches of people on a tour. The young lady who served us one evening did not smile once!

Thank you for your review. I apologise that the room was a longer walk than you anticipated. I myself explained the layout of the hotel to you when we met in the corridor and was aware you then brought this to Reception who also explained. You had reserved a standard king room with king size bed, 55 inch tv, tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries and a new bathroom installed in April of this year. I am unsure what other amenities you had expected upon booking or that you found basic. I trust that otherwise you enjoyed your stay.

The nicest things come in the smallest parcel! Maybe small in size but always delivers. Have visited this hotel several times and have never left unhappy. It’s lovely to sit out on a lovely evening with a glass of wine. The grounds are immaculate, with table and chairs and it is very peaceful. The restaurant is first class as is the food. Rooms are very comfortable and have tea/coffee facility. There is also an iron and board. It is a short distance out of the city centre but several buses run from the town centre to right outside the hotel. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel you will not be disappointed.

Hotel is out of town so not great if you want to be in the city centre and there is not much nearby. We visited for a function held at the hotel. Prior to the visit we booked a double room and then were offered the option to upgrade by a ‘bid’ system. I bid for a suite for £50 which is quite a lot and I suspect it ends up the same or more as just booking it in the first place. However we were glad we did. The room was lovely - fantastic super king bed, lots of good pillows, lots of space, and very big bathroom with separate shower, bath and double sinks. Plenty of space to put things. My only issue was the standard issue - poor lighting for putting on makeup. The lighting in hotels is designed by someone who never puts on makeup. The room itself was quite a trek from reception, at the back of the hotel but this also meant it was quiet (with good blackout curtains). There was not much a view from the room either. We were there for a set dinner as part of a function. The food was a bit average and the service a bit rushed (plates cleared before everyone at the table had finished) but we were not there for haute cuisine. The bar seemed fine and the hotel appeared to be absolutely fine in terms of decor etc. I’ve stayed in far worse 4 star hotels. We would happily stay in the room again and had a great sleep.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a four night mini break away. We stayed the previous two nights at another Best Western hotel in Northumberland which we really enjoyed. On checking in there was no welcome and we found the receptionist unfriendly . Our room was ok it had everything in it we needed for two nights. We were on a dinner bed and breakfast package however none of the staff appeared to know what our allowance was from the menu. In the end they told us £18 each but this did not make sense as it would have been cheaper to just book bed and breakfast we queried it at reception and were told it was nothing to do with the hotel it was up to us to contact Best Western no offer of help to sort it out not interested. We spent the following day trying to get in touch with Best Western who finally contacted the hotel for us to change the allowance because we had been quoted the wrong amount. The meal on first night was ok more like pub style food. We ordered two beers from the bar and they were brought to us in two cans and just left on the table for us to open and pour out ourselves. My husband opened the can and it exploded in his hands showering us with beer and pouring all over the table and floor, He had to get up to go get a cloth to clean it up. The bar person came over and said she didn't know why it happened. Surely when you order a drink in a restaurant it should at least be opened and poured for you like most other drinks ?? We had our meal and nobody asked us how it was . We asked for the dessert menu which was brought to us and half an hour later we asked could we order the waitress laughed and said she had actually forgotten us, We then waited another forty minutes for the dessert in the end we got fed up of waiting got up to leave and said to the waitress cancel it and she laughingly said it was never ordered I forgot to send it through to the kitchen. No apologies nothing at least she seemed to think it was funny. At breakfast on our first morning a coach party had just left . On looking into the containers there was hardly anything left this was a 8.15 in the morning. I got the last piece of bacon there were no sausages or much else. I mentioned it to a member of staff that didn't appear interested. This hotel caters for its coach parties and offers poor customer service. It was mentioned to reception on leaving but we just got an oh dear. Very disappointed.

Good afternoon Brian, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay with us. I'm pleased that the room was to your liking. I apologise about the confusion regarding your dinner allowance, this was simply a misunderstanding regarding the promotional rate used when booking which deducted 20% from your total. Unfortunately the 20% was also deducted from your allowance, which was then rectified. I note that there was a discount applied to your meal by way of an apology for the issues with your dinner. I can assure you that this is not the standards that we expect our guests to receive and our restaurant manager has been made fully aware of the issues you encountered, please accept my apologies again. I'm aware there was a delay in re-stocking the breakfast buffet due to the tour group you mentioned all eating at the same time, an unfortunate case of bad timing. However, rest-assured the buffet was re-stocked with freshly cooked food and served for another hour. I apologise that on this occasion we have not met the standards that are expected from us and very much hope you will give us the opportunity to rectify this should you visit the city again Kind regards Paul Brownlie

The hotel looks nice but is clearly outdated, most of the guests were senior citizens. Reception staff very friendly. The restaurant was nothing special but the staff was also very friendly and helpful. Breakfast can be ordered and paid for the morning itself or put on the bill of the room. The rooms were big enough but the floor creaked pretty hard when we walked over it. The bathroom was big enough and modern. The front garden of the hotel is beautiful and has 2 large beautiful cedar firs in it, the garden was well maintained. The free parking is included and the bus to the center is about 200m walk outside the hotel, ideal. Not far from the hotel you have a good restaurant and cafe on the Riverside next to the airport and the River Tay with a fantastic bridge not far away. All in all a hotel to take in transit or to visit the city, a city with a very nice center+

Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and 5 year old stayed here for two nights in April.
We phoned the hotel to ask about their family room and they were great at describing the two rooms for us. It's really spacious given the second room is two single beds for the children rather than a bunk bed. So we duly booked using our Best Western app.
In the run up to our stay, we received email confirmation of our booking as well as upgrade offers but we didn't need these. Completing the online check in saved time and basically we parked our car in the big car park and collected our key cards then went to our room.
Our room was clean and no musty smells so credit to housekeeping. Big bathroom for all the family and plenty of storage space for clothes and luggage. No fridge in the room but there is tea and coffee making facilities. Both rooms had a TV and desk space. Beds comfy and cosy. As our room was on a single floor, no noise from upstairs but occasionally there was noise from people walking along the corridor outside. Housekeeping came and were great, particularly when I had to pop back into the room whilst they were there so I could collect something.
Breakfast was ample and a good buffet selection. Shame no one told us we could order eggs to the table as we thought it was only scrambled eggs on offer in the buffet. We only saw this after we had finished on our second morning when a table next to us had poached eggs served to them. Staff weren't great at clearing plates during breakfast service so we had to ask. Other than this, we didn't eat lunch or dinner in the restaurant.
Overall, great value for money for the family room and a pleasant stay. Enjoy!

Want a good night's sleep? Then look elsewhere! One corridor in this hotel that hosts large events of drunk people; so prepare to spend all night being woken up by people slamming doors and shouting to each other. The windows to the Hotel all open onto the carpark, so that you get the full experience of those same people getting into/out of their Ubers for a full 360 audio experience. This happened multiple nights in our stay. Everything in this hotel is as cheap as possible. The double beds are two singles pushed together- so enjoy falling down the ridge in the middle. The duvet is two singles zipped together. The coffee in the room is one sachet of the cheapest nastiest ants eggs available. The water pressure in the showers is low. The eggs in the morning are white rubber. The bar is more expensive than you'd find in London.

Situated to the west of Dundee, easy to get to be road and with plenty of parking to rear. I should say I'm on BW Gold Rewards tier so was upgraded to a 'King' room which was nicely appointed and good size with walk-in rain shower in the bathroom. Room was quiet and the bed comfortable, the room had desk and chair for working in a laptop.
I did think the WiFi was unusually slow plus they have an captive portal but it'll take any made up email and name.
I arrived too late for dinner on Sunday, last orders are 20:15 but the bar was serving so ask for crisps. None available! Another lady asked for crisps a few minutes later and was also disappointed. Top tip - bring your own bag of Walkers.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory overlooking the garden, with the option of continental or cooked from the buffet which was perfectly fine. Guests seems to be a mix of tourists and technical staff working in the areas. When I was there the families were allowing their children to run in and out to the garden leaving the door open. Bah, humbug!
All in all, seems a reliable hotel of decent standard.

I booked a room via booking.com for my disabled father and I called the hotel to specify I needed a disabled accessible room. Mel the receptionist told me to cancel the booking.com reservation and book directly with the hotel. She said she would make some adjustments and call me back to confirm. The call was on speakerphone with 3 witnesses. This was done several weeks in advance. We arrived with my father only to be told that there was no disabled access room for the duration of his long stay. The room that was advertised at £60 per night, was a charged to my disabled father at £80 per night and there were two flights of steps he could not manage. They decided it was fine to charge him a penalty tray charge of £3.50 for every meal he had taken to his room. This was after allocating him a non-accessible room. They made no attempts to help him in this situation and left him in a vulnerable situation if there were to be a fire that he would not be able to escape.

The points you raise were addressed in a 40 minute telephone call yesterday and so I will not answer each again, but I would advise that you have made a serious, and false accusation of ill treatment by our staff, which has no basis in fact. You also insulted myself and my staff and made threats during our conversation which were entirely inappropriate. I would like to remind you of some of the points I made on our call, to which you refused to accept or even listen to, despite being factual: At no point in the booking process with us directly or online did you reserve an accessible room. You booked the room 6 days prior to arrival, not weeks in advance. You received an email confirmation from the hotel which shows you booked a standard double room. The rate you paid was cheaper than the amount you originally booked online. You extended your Father's reservation length with us several times, despite now claiming that you were unhappy with his stay. There is no penalty tray charge - a tray charge for room service is standard in the industry. You admitted to me that your Father had used the restaurant during his stay and so was not "left in a vulnerable situation" as you claim. Our staff were caring and attentive to your Father, as he commented to us during his stay. I have reported your review to Tripadvisor due to the seriousness of your accusations and the falsity of your statements.

We have just returned from a4 night stay at the Invercarse hotel. We booked an executive king room and it had an enormous bed and a lovely bathroom with excellent walk in shower. There was liquid soap at the basin and liquid body wash/shampoo in the shower but no conditioner instead of individual bottles. The room was not serviced during our stay due to COVID restrictions but there was a bag of fresh towels toilet roll and bag of tea/coffee making stuff outside our door every day. If we needed anything else we just had to ask at reception. The breakfasts were lovely giving you the choice of full Scottish breakfast or cereal , bread, croissants, fresh fruit or yogurts with individual pots of jam honey marmalade and lemon curd. The restaurant at lunch or dinner was excellent too. The fish and chips and steak pie being our favourite. The restaurant is open to the public too so gets booked up quickly I would suggest if you have a long journey getting here that you book your slot before arrival as we noticed one couple being disappointed at not being able to eat at the hotel when they arrived as it was fully booked but the food is so good that I am not surprised that it fills up quickly. The staff here are also very friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay here again if we go back to Dundee. We booked a taxi to go into and back from Dundee it’s self as it was easier for us than taking the car we noticed quite a few traffic wardens about it costs around £7/8 each way thanks again to the staff for making our stay so enjoyable
