Dark and dingy with a minimal menu and very tired room and at £89 b&b per night poor value.

Technically you can be married at 16 in Scotland so yes, if you are over 16, you are no longer regarded as a minor. You didn't say what age you were but if over 16 you could stay and it shouldn't be a problem as long as you behave sensibly. Do remember that you won't be able to buy alcohol at the bar as 18yrs is the minimum drinking age.
