Stayed 2 nights to attend a family wedding. On arrival, was a bit unsure of our room choice which they immediately changed to a warmer room at the front of the main house. The room was very comfortable with a very comfortable and large bed. We had an en suite bath with shower. The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and discreet as necessary. Nothing was too much trouble. Even the dog was calmly welcomed which put us at ease. The food was delicious and plentiful. The venue was full of quiet nooks as well as social spaces. The grounds are stunning and particularly beautiful with the autumn colours. We enjoyed the various length walks and trails within the grounds and made a point of exploring with friends and family. The wedding took place outside and was absolutely stunning. As guests, we felt very well looked after by staff, both front of house and behind the scenes. While we had both water and tea/coffee making facilities in our room, we spent most of our time in the rest of the property as part of our wedding party. We were very impressed by the attentive but unobtrusive staff. Even the facilities in the public rest rooms had discreet baskets of various products that might be needed, including plaster, safety pins and flip flops/blister pads for tired dancing feet. All in all, a really enjoyable experience

Stayed as part of a friends wedding. Overall a great day of celebration had by all.

Room was humongous, although a bit chilly (unsurprising in December) and bed was huge (and comfortable).

Breakfast was fantastic the next morning, however service was a bit hit and miss - friends breakfast came a lot slower than ours (maybe kitchen got a bit overwhelmed as we came down about 5 mins before them, maybe it was quieter)

We had our wedding reception at Beech Hill Country House in August 2023. It was the most magical day from start to finish and would not have been possible without the meticulous hard work of all the staff at Beech Hill. What drew us initially to this venue was the charming country house and beautiful surrounding grounds. We were also very much drawn to the fact the venue is yours for the day so it makes it all the more personal for your family and friends to enjoy. We were lucky enough to get a beautiful sunny day so had our drinks reception by the lake which was stunning. The Pavillion where we dined and danced the night away is also beautiful with twinkling fairy lights, it is so romantic. Thank you to Kevin, the MC who was a natural! Finally we partied into the small hours in the quirky little basement bar in the main house. Thank you so much to all the bar staff and night porter Johnathan! Ellie, who was our wedding coordinator went above and beyond for us and helped make the planning a lot less stressful with her expertise! The food was simply outstanding and a lot of our guests have said it was the best wedding meal food they ever tasted. The Beech Hill is simply a classically beautiful wedding venue, we had our photos taken on the grounds and they are stunning. The staff make sure everything is covered to ensure you and your guests have the best day! We could not recommend it enough, all our family and friends are still raving about how magic our wedding day was. Thank you again so much. Mr & Mrs Lynch

Online the pictures look amazing so we were excited for our stay. We stayed over for a wedding and I don’t know if we just got a bad room, but we were not impressed for £160 a night. The carpet in our room was stained, curtains were sun damaged and torn to shreds, the furniture is supposed to look traditional but it just felt like we were in a Cheap motel. The hot water took about 20 minutes to heat up. And the 1 key a room wasn’t overly safe in the case that I went to the room early, and my partner stayed in the bar but I couldn’t lock the door unless he locked me in and wouldn’t be safe in case of a fire. Again, I wouldn’t have minded paying £60 for this room but £160 is steep for that we got. If the hotel is charging that much a night surely they could afford some new curtains!

We got married in August this year 2022. I write this review because I wish I had read it when I was looking for a venue for our wedding. I regret having done it at the Beech Hill. Thank God, our celebrant, our baker, our florist and our musician all were very professional, and our guests made sure our day was very special but dealing with the venue management since the contract was signed was a disaster.
First you make the prepayment and then they send you a contract without much detail. One of the points of the contract is that you must book hotel rooms as well (10 in our case), but the price of the rooms is only sent after, and believe me, it is very high (about 150 to 250 pounds). The values are abusive and of course none of our guests wanted to stay and pay that price. In the end, we invited some friends to stay overnight, and paid the bill, because we were kindly threatened with having the event cancelled if we didn't pay everything before the wedding week.
Communicating with what we thought was the events team was very stressful because there wasn't a person to accompany us from the start. Several people read your email, several respond, and it seems that there is no internal communication. We had to repeat the information and ask questions to different people, who gave us different answers. We have emails with 6 different people, and it was very confusing and unprofessional.
By the way, our contract was from our choice The Absolute Package, which includes scones and short breads as you can see in the picture, and they never served them for our guests. When I asked the manager during the reception, she told me that it was because they served brownies instead (we were never asked about if we wanted brownies instead of scones and shortbread and our international guests were really looking forward to try them). But believe me, none of our guests saw or tasted a brownie in the reception!!!
Also, we were charged for inflation increasing (this was on august). So, in the end, they charged us for more than the contracts said and gave us less. I hope you think twice if you want to make there such an important event as your wedding. The 3 stars are because of the beauty of the grounds and the staff on the wedding day (not management!!), especially Alina.

We held our wedding reception at The Beech Hill Country House in April 2022. It was the most perfect day from start to finish. From the early planning stages the staff at The Beech Hill went above and beyond to make our day as perfect as possible, No matter what the query the team were more than attentive in their response and making sure our needs were met. The sun shone on the day making the venue even more picture perfect. We could not speak highly enough of the food served on the day and our wedding guests are still talking about the day. All of our family stayed at the venue as well where the rooms had spectacular views. All in all, a wonderful venue which made our day special in every way.

Went to a wedding here, the hotel looked beautiful and the grounds are stunning.
We were given room 27. Even for classic type room it was dated. Furniture had handles missing, the room was tiny and a little dirty and the bed was ridiculously soft and lumpy I actually ended up sleeping on the floor. It was definitely not worth the £170 we paid. I have stayed in 5* hotels for cheaper price. In all honesty I would have thought £50 for that room an acceptable price.

The wedding was stunning, staff were fabulous especially a young waiter called Adam, who was very helpful and kind to the older ladies at our table. The wedding M.C man was top tier. He was amazing at his job. The dinner was delicious, beef was so tender! Soup was delish, cheese cake just fantastic.

Was lovely to see the wee bunnies and the cute kitty cat Tigger beautiful scenery cannot say enough about the outdoor wedding.

So in short
+Wedding amazing
+Scenery beautiful
+Staff lovely
+Food lush
+Drink prices a bit steep
+Room rate a joke
+Our room, the worst I have ever stayed in.

Won't be back to stay that's for sure.

We booked to stay here for a last little escape before the arrival of our first baby and it did not disappoint. We live in Donegal, so it was only a 30 minute drive away but when we arrived at the Beech Hill it felt like we were in the country, and further away from home than reality.
On our arrival we were very generously upgraded to one of the Master Suites. This room was amazing!! We had a large sitting room, a patio garden, a large bedroom with ensuite, and another toilet off the sitting room. The bathroom products were all 'The Handmade Soup Company' which was a lovely surprise as I love the quality of their products.
We ate dinner in the Gastro Pub which had a lovely atmosphere. The food was top class. We ate breakfast in the morning in Ardmore Restaurant, looking on to a beautiful view of the gardens and water. Unfortunately during our stay the weather was wet and windy so we did not get to enjoy the gardens, but they looked beautiful and I can only imagine how nice a stay in Beech Hill would be when the weather is better.
I cant believe that this was our first time staying in Beech Hill, as if I had known how beautiful it is, and how much of an escape it can feel with being so close to home I would have been here sooner. We will definitely be back.

Just had the most wonderful time at my daughters wedding on 15thjuly.. what a magical day. From the ceremony in the beautiful forest to the amazing food and service throughout the day. Thanks to James, Gary and all the amazing staff for being so attentive and professional. The rooms we stayed in were absolutely gorgeous and breakfast was delicious . Even the guests who travelled were raving about how beautiful the hotel and grounds are and can’t wait to get back for another stay!! I would honestly recommend the Beech hill to anyone planning their big day.. the only negative of the day was the decoration of the banquet room which was part of the wedding package, which was very disappointing . Thankfully the bride and groom had organised with Wishingtree.com to decorate the forest and put extra decorations in the banquet room which improved it immensely. Absolutely loved the day!!

We got married on 23/07 at Beech Hill.
Cora, Benjamin and Roisin were amazing. They let us leave our stuff the day beforehand and took time to run through the day with us. It was raining on the morning of our wedding and they handled everything so that we could get married in the forest. It was completely stress free and smooth. The food was exceptional and our guests haven't stopped talking about it since - portions were generous and everyone served in unison at each table. Waiting staff were excellent - alongside Roisin who was extremely professional. The night manager guided everyone safely to the bus during the down pour and kept the marquee open for family to finish the night off. The following morning the high standard of food and hospitality continued with a lovely breakfast and calm atmosphere.

We had our perfect wedding day!
Martin and Máire

The Beechill has a lift and is easy to access from the car park into the main reception areas. I presume that they have to be accessible for those requiring easy access. I would however check with them before booking.

what is heating like in wedding pavilion during january?
Answer from Conor D
Hi Eileen, thank you for your message. Our marquee pavilion is a permanent structure which we use all year round. It is heated by an industrial air handling unit which is very powerful and we have had no problems with getting it heated during the winter months. Unfortunately the weather is something we cannot control but our winters seem to be getting milder and on occasions when we do get snow and ice we try to manage the conditions in the car park and foot paths with salt and grit. Please let me know if you would like to come and view the marquee? kind regards Conor Donnelly - Sales Manager
