Travellers' Choice
Hastings Grand Central is more than a hotel. It’s an ode to a city. Standing tall in Bedford Street, this impressive jewel fuses glamour and grandeur with a uniquely Belfast spirit. Perfectly placed in Belfast City. Just as Belfast is at the heart of the Grand Central, the Grand Central is at the heart of Belfast. Set in the up and coming Linen Quarter, the hotel is a spectacular hub for exploring Titanic Quarter’s history or Cathedral Quarter’s charming cobbled streets, pubs and eateries. Theatre buffs, shopaholics and historians alike will all be spoiled for choice, with a host of options right on their doorstep. Conveniently located for all transport access, the Grand Central is perfectly placed for every city centre endeavour – from business to leisure and everything in between.

Not a great start. Staying here for 1 night for my wife’s birthday. Check in ok but one of the first things they say to you at check in is “ we take the full cost at check in”. Slightly embarrassing as my wife was standing beside me and now she knows how much the surprise cost me. Then to rub things in they actually charge me more than they price on the booking £20 more. This led to more embarrassment as I had them to go back down to reception to query this. The receptionist said no I was wrong that was the correct price (until I brought up a copy of my email booking). No real apology but got the refund but seriously how can this happen. Room ok on the 22nd floor (paid the £20 for guaranteed high floor) Requested view of city hall got view of building site at the back of the hotel looking out at the building site beside the Maldron hotel. Room is fine but no bottled water not that grand and room has a large area unusable due to a large “service box” taking up a good bit of the floor space. Seriously the hotel is not full why!! 3rd and last time at Grand central back to the Merchant next time.

Glad we went to the Observatory Lounge to have cocktails with a view across the city. Drinks and view were both lovely. Service was a bit slow as we had to chase up getting new drinks and the cheque for leaving. The drinks were expensive but still enjoyed it.

Not normally the kind of hotel that I would stay at due to the price but glad I made an exception Every Member of staff was friendly and very helpful. could not fault the room as it was bigger than my own bedroom at home. I was on the 17th floor and the view over the city was amazing. Hotel is also ideally situated in the centre of the city within easy access of the local attractions Only complaint I have is that the day before I arrived I received an E-mail that increased the price of my stay by £80, and that was despite the fact that I booked through their own website. Though the girl on reception reduced that by £40 when I checked in.

My partner and I stayed here for one night very recently. Our room was lovely, dinner and breakfast were super and the staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. Hotel is also in a very handy location to explore Belfast. Our only downside was the fact that the Observatory Bar had a very limited cocktail menu. But don’t let that put you off coming here.

Wonderful hotel. My second time in a Hastings establishment. Excellent value for money, no sense of being exploited because of the surge in staycations. Helpful staff. Splendid breakfasts. Tremendous city centre location, perfectly located for sightseeing, restaurants pubs etc. Will come again.
