The Cathedral Quarter was traditionally the home of Belfast's trade associations and warehouses, and still has some of the city's oldest buildings. But a stay at Premier Inn Hotel Belfast Cathedral Quarter puts some distinctly twenty-first century attractions on your doorstep. Come in August and hear some of the latest sounds and bands at the Belsonic Festival. Or December, for a Christmas market that pulls out all the stops. Or in September, for all the fun of over 250 events during Culture Night. Or visit any time of year for world class shopping and fascinating visitor attractions. Then come back to the hotel for mouth-watering food and a lovely comfy bed.

The Belfast City Cathedral Quarter hotel sits in a prime central location, drawing guests eager to explore nearby attractions with ease. However, the establishment receives mixed reviews; while the tidiness of rooms garners appreciation, some guests express dissatisfaction with housekeeping and noise levels. The service quality presents a dichotomy of experiences, from commendable assistance to instances of unprofessionalism. Travelers enjoy the vibrant public spaces but note the tranquility of rooms is sometimes marred by noise. The hotel's amenities and value proposition elicit divergent opinions, with particular concerns about room heating and inconsistent breakfast offerings.

Kerri in reception is amazing! Thanks for the tips on things to do on our weekend away. Me and my husband had a fabulous time celebrating our 27th anniversary. So impressed by the breakfast too! I have stayed in many a premier inn but this one was exceptional, by far the best in town 🙂.

I booked this hotel without reading the reviews on trip advisor, as I’ve always had good experiences with Premier Inn and the location was spot on. A few days before we were due to arrive, I looked at some of the reviews and was horrified and felt I’d made a huge mistake. Ok arrival, my fears were quickly allayed. We arrived at 11am and we’re able to pay £10 for an early check in, which was very much appreciated. We had booked a premier room and this included free ultimate wifi, which allows you to stream etc. The room itself was at the back of the hotel and was very nicely decorated and was spotlessly clean. It had a fridge, kettle and coffee machine with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. The bed was very comfortable, the air con was great and we slept very well for the three nights we were there.

The staff we met were really lovely and helpful. We had breakfast one morning which was good value at £9.99.
We would definitely stay here again next time we visit Belfast. The location was perfect for us.

I like staying at a Premier Inn, as you always know what you’re getting and the beds are very comfortable. The hotels location was ideal for exploring, we were a nice 25min walk to the Titanic museum and a 10 mins walk from the Games of Throne studio tour pick up spot. The staff at this hotel are very positive and helpful, we arrive very early on a Sunday morning and we were able to check in early. This just made everything easier for us. Breakfast was lovely, good quality food for a great price and children eat free.

Started having a semi flex reservation. Called 3 days before in the morning to discuss cancellation and no one answered the phone despite multiple calls and waiting for minutes with just a ring tone. When someone answered in the evening 'sorry you needed to do that by 1pm today'. Very expensive for a budget hotel over £160 a night and you have to 'request' for your room to be cleaned by 12:00pm that day. Arrived in a double room for two people and had one towel. First day requested at 11:00am came back in the evening and nothing had been done. Went to front desk 'sorry it's too late for room cleaning'. I asked for a full set of new towels for a double room and replenish tea and coffee etc. Towels replaced and two sachets of coffee. Next day 10:48am request room to be cleaned. Return in the evening and nothing had been done. Went to front desk 'sorry it's too late for room cleaning'. Spoke with receptionist who asked me if I would like to escalate things and I agreed telling me that feedback would be provided for AM staff and web address to lodge complaint. Towels replaced along with tea and coffee. Check out next morning desk staff had no feedback, didn't offer any acknowledgement of previous complaint, and when pressed he simply explained that it was a 'clerical error, sometimes these things happen, we're very sorry'. It actually be more refreshing to hear that, 'thanks for your feedback, we don't care, your leaving so it doesn't matter if we rectify the problem or not, if you don't come back who cares you probably will to another location and all our money goes in the same pot'. Went to the website and had 1500 characters to comment, could only select hotel locations from Germany, and told that someone will contact you in the next 35 days!!!

I want to start by saying that the hotel location is excellent, and that both Debbie and Lauren on reception were absolutely amazing and went over and above to help us, but we experienced so many issues during our stay. The hotel seemed very understaffed and poorly managed and even chaotic at times!

Where to begin? The heating was not working in our room. There was no other twin that night so we were given two heaters and assured we'd be moved the next day. The next day, the manager had forgotten to write down the twin room request so when we got back from our day out, there were no rooms available and the heating issue hadn't been fixed! We agreed to move temporarily to a double and be moved to a twin the day after, but the double we were assigned to on the top floor was absolutely tiny and a horrible room. We had to ask to be moved again and were finally put up in a family room. However, it took three attempts for the keycard to work so we were up and down the stairs constantly and wasted a good three hours of Monday evening trying to get all this resolved. We were given complementary breakfast for our entire stay as a result.

On Wednesday, we ran out of toilet paper. We asked a cleaner on the same floor if she could replenish it and she agreed. When we came home that day, there was still no toilet paper and the general supply had ran out! So we had to take toilet paper from the hotel restaurant toilets and the pub we had our dinner in to keep us topped up! Then Thursday morning, we had to ask at the reception desk for more toilet rolls, which they said they would keep back for us once the delivery was in. That evening, we then had to ask for our rolls at the desk in front of a whole queue of people and walk out of reception with them, which felt really humiliating.

While we appreciated the complementary breakfast buffet, the breakfast room was rather chaotic and the manager seemed like he really was not in control of the situation at all. There seemed to be many other guests too who had issues and were unhappy.

On the Tuesday night, there was lots of thumping and running around on the floor above us. This went on for most of the night making it very hard to sleep. The next evening, we were also disturbed by the schoolchildren at the hotel running up and down the corridor on our floor. They even knocked our door twice at 11pm! We answered it and told them we would call reception if they did it again. Thankfully, they didn't.

The hotel has some positives. It is in a great location to access the city and attractions. It has a large bar/restaurant attached and the staff were all very friendly. Our room was well presented and clean and tidy.

When we arrived we found that the shower was leaking from the area that diverts water between overhead shower and hand held head. We reported this at reception and also mentioned that the water jets from rhe overhead unit were blocked and it wasn't usable. The few jets there were went every which way but down! The leak was fixed by the time we returned but the overhead shower head was still unusable. We had to only use the hand held unit which in itself was pretty useless due to there being very little water pressure, more of a trickle than a shower. We were on 5th floor so maybe better lower down the hotel. The sink tap also ran very slowly.

We asked for the room to be cleaned on one day of our stay and this was done by the time we returned to the hotel.

The air con/heating system in the room seemed to turn itself off after an hour or so as it it was on a timer meaning it constantly had to be turned back on. Not sure why this is necessary.

The bar area is large but we found it a little chaotic. Asked for 2 different flavoured gins. One of which there wasn't enough in the bottle for a measure and the other had just enough for a single. Ordered Guinness and there was none available! Cocktails were on offer 2 for 1 but you had to have two the same which seems strange. We tried to get some bar snacks but were told they don't do them and were directed to a vending machine in the hotel lobby were it was £1.40 for a small bag of crisps. Lastly we tried to eat here on on e evening but were told it was fully booked. It was Christmas week so we should have probably pre booked.

The hotel is central which means there was quite a bit of noise from the bars etc below. This went on into the early hours. It was manageable for us but if you like a quiet night you might want to think about this. Inside the hotel we didn't hear any disturbance.

Probably wouldn't stay again due to the rubbish shower.

We booked a Premier Plus room as we were celebrating a Birthday.

The only positive was the location. It was perfect for exploring Belfast with plenty of nice bars and restaurant nearby.

We didn't use the onsite restaurant during our stay.

Being a Plus room we a coffee machine in the room but no coffee pods.
There was no complimentary water or sweet treats as stated there would be when we booked.
When we asked at the reception desk we we're told that there was no coffee pods or sweet treats available and that the water would be brought to the room. It never was.

The room was no different to a standard room. In fact, we stayed in a standard Premier Inn room in Leeds 3 weeks ago and the room was far superior.

We only had one towel in the room so another trip to reception to get another one.

The kettle didn't work. The switch had to wedged down when a spoon to make it work. By this point I couldn't be bothered to walk down to reception again.

The shower didn't drain properly. The whole tray just filled with water and drained away very very slowly.

On Tuesday night the noise was ridiculous. There seemed to be a young group staying that had attended a prom. They were running up and down the corridor until 4am until someone seemingly shouted at them and they all stopped.

To be fair to Premier Inn, they have since refunded us the cost of the room for the Tuesday night.

Stayed for two nights, the lady who checked us in I think her name was Debbie was lovely, she was very friendly and upbeat and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately this was the only good experience in this hotel.
We thought we would treat ourselves and upgrade to the Premier plus rooms, the room had an awful view, the USB socket next to the bed didn’t work, poor shower pressure, the TV remote was awful ( hardly any channels, no smart functions, terrible sound. ) the hairdryer kept going on and off while drying your hair, the bedside table had 3 screws on the floor.
On the 2nd day we noticed our room wasn’t cleaned when we returned at night, we wanted to get some water for the mini fridge, the receptionist at night didn’t even know what perks you get with the premier plus rooms and didn’t know we got water, he looked at us as if we had 3 heads.
One night we went into the hotel bar for the bar man to let out a sigh when we entered and said we are closing in 10 mins so we didn’t get a drink, it was only 22:45.
Today we wanted to get lunch, only to be told the chef is going on an hour and a half lunch break so no lunch for us, maybe you should have more than one chef.
Having stayed in a lot of Premmier inns this has to be one of the worst ones I’ve experienced in terms of room quality and some staff attitudes and lack of knowledge.
Decent location but I would maybe look at a different hotel if returning to the area.

This is usually a good Premier Inn. I had a premier room but there were problems during my stay. There was no cooked breakfast for two of the days just a poor continental options. No real reason given why there was no cooked breakfast. Check-in was chaotic because they had new staff and refunds had to be given on the cooked breakfast. As a premier room customer, I had to ask for room cleaning. When I asked for room cleaning one day, the bins and towels were only changed. I had to clean the sink myself. Litter sat in the corridors of the hotel for 24hrs and in the lift, one of which was not working. Really below average this time. Staff friendly though.

Visiting Belfast to see friends so we booked Premier inn again as we had a great experience in London Premier inn HUB and Paddington branch.

Unfortunately this Premier inn branch did not go well for our experience as we were treated with racism unfairness. We paid for the breakfast to enjoy the morning experience and the server with a clean shave head with moustache gave us a terrible treatment as we were first in the queue and paid then suddenly the 1 group of 4 people behind us normal caucasians who got given the table first before us even we were at first queue and paid too.

My partner used to run few Japanese restaurants and absolutely knows how the queuing works in the restaurant industry. The table was given to them can accommodate up to 4 people which is the same for ours so there is no difference putting us equally in there first. I would've understood if the early vacant table was for 2 people or greater than 4 people as we were 3 of us so we will need to wait for a table up to 4. The fact the table was given to the 4 people behind us in the queue are no difference to our table given after 10mins further wait.

I can see that the server had a preferences who should be served first despite the queuing system.

although our bad experience with the breakfast section, we also had a great experience from the front receptionist from first arrival to checking out as she was very lovely and friendly.

The fact is that because of our different race unfortunately the gentlemen who was serving us in the breakfast was not ready and accepting the diversity. It’s really such a shame as we have never experience this from any Premier Inn hotels in London.

Eating that breakfast was awful as our mind was not at ease because the server put us in that difficult situation.

I would like to let other’s know that if you are visiting this hotel in the breakfast section and you are from a different race please be aware that experience.
