The location was great too, we had friends staying in their motorhome on the site 10 minutes down the road. We had not visited Llanberis before and found it was a lovely place to stay and explore other areas too. We spent a beautiful day in Angelsey which was not too far to get to.
There is much more of the area we want to visit too so we will return.
Thank you for making our stay such a pleasure.
Literally we were met on the main road, made to feel welcome, recommendations were given on eating places, offers were made to dry our wet clothes after walking Snowdon, plus many other kind gestures.
Room was suitable for what we needed, plenty of hot water for showers, hand gel available everywhere. Really good breakfast, plenty of parking and good location for Snowdon etc.
Will definitely be back
The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the breakfast is superb... Just what you need before a day in the hills! The hosts were lovely and very helpful and accommodating, remaining flexible with timings to suit our needs.
The B&B is in the perfect location for exploring Snowdon and the surrounding area, I'd definitely recommend this B&B.
There are also plenty of other places nearby to visit, Ogwen Valley, Watkins Path, Caernarfon to name a few.
Our room was a lovely size it was clean and tidy, had a fridge to!
Breakfast was great and a good choice, even catered for myself who is dairy intolerant.
The owners/hosts are very welcoming and go out of their way to make sure your comfortable and get to know you.
We will definitely be staying here again when we next visit and will be recommending friends and family to stay here.
When we arrived we warmly greeted by the owner and showed to our large and comfortable room overlooking the front garden with large windows allowing in lots of light.
The Guest House is very well situated being no more than a few minutes walk from anywhere in Llanberis
As the Dolafon Guest House is only let out on a bed and breakfast basis, the owner told us about all of the places to eat and drink in the town in the evenings which was very helpful.
The breakfast was cooked to order in the morning (normally served between 8.00am & 9.00am) and was plentiful and tasty, which allowed us to take our time before we had to walk the 5 minute walk from the Guest House to the Llanberis Railway Station for our trip up Snowdon, which takes approx 1hr each way.
TIP :- Ensure that you book ahead/online to ensure that you get tickets for the train that you want or you may have to wait until there is space on another train later in the day.
We were very lucky in that the summit was free of cloud when we got to the top
FYI, Dolafon is also only about 5 minutes walk away from the start of the Llanberis Walk route up Snowdon, which is approx 4.5 miles long (in each direction), and climbs approx 975m in elevation and generally takes between 5 to 8 hours to complete it (both ways).
The owners are really friendly, helpful and willing to offer advice about anything local if you just ask them.
All in all, we really enjoyed our short stay and the Dolafon Guest House is a credit to its owners, and we will not hesitate to stop there again should we be in the area in the future.
