We had booked a couple of nights away for the Beer festival and to celebrate friends getting married. We've stayed here before as the pricing is great, especially for Leeds. The parking is discounted and not far away. Lots of places to eat and drink but the hotel has a nice bar area and a fab breakfast too. Directly across from the Arena. On checking in we mentioned whilst chatting that our friend who was part of the wedding was also checking in and could we store her bag. When my friend checked in Daniel had left a wedding card, bottle of prosecco and chocolates in her room. How fabulous is this?! You might expect this from an expensive chain of hotel. We did not expect this at all! We do look at Premier for cost mainly not going to lie and because the beds and comfy and we always get a good night's sleep but we will always look at Premier now because of the service and this really kind thing they did, not for us but for our friend. Thank you! Rooms were really clean. We felt safe in the current situation. There are several coffee shops and a Wetherspoons across the road. You are a short stroll into the centre. We stayed two nights and parking was £20 at the Merrion Centre which is great. Your ticket is discounted via the hotel. No need to move the car at all.

Premier Inn have been my go to hotels in recent years but may rethink this now they have downgraded the free wifi to a level where streaming any programme is almost impossible. Reason being they want you to pay for the premium wifi. I understand why check in is delayed for extra cleaning but having waited until 4pm I still find an 8 inch black hair on my toilet seat , so what are they doing ? Also found this hotel has no 2 point electric shaving socket in the bathroom ( most do) , so this was a little inconvenient. Furthermore, my room was nt made up on the last day when I d requested it ( did nt need it on other days) Didnt try any food. Location is great for Arena, obviously, and Headingly is 40 minute walk away for the cricket. Staff always friendly and helpful, cant fault them in any way. I was also woken up by strange humming and rattling noises in the night the like of which I d never experienced, as well as my nrighbour showering early causing pipes to vibrate loudly. So not a hotel to get a good nights sleep, not in room 412 anyway. There is renovation work happening but work as stated only starts at 8.00am so not really an issue.

Spacious, clean room with a good view. Very helpful reception staff. There was a single member of staff at the restaurant for our breakfast. Cannot say how lovely she was! The toaster was not working so she had to take individual orders from guests, as well as greet and seat them, which she did calmly, efficiently and with a smile on her face. Made it a very pleasant stay.

As a regular visitor to premier Inn hotels over many years I have always rated the hotel chain highly. Unfortunately the experience of a one night visit to Leeds to stay at this hotel was disappointing. I was not aware of the works going on at this hotel prior to arrival, it would have been good to know to inform my decision to book. I asked at check in about the extent that this could affect us and was told "that they had no complaints" I asked if we could be placed in a room away from the works and received a apathetic response. The staff on the night shift were much more helpful and friendly. The standard of the room was satisfactory, but not to the standard of other premier Inn rooms I have stayed in. To the main reason for the poor rating- we were woken by very loud drilling and banging directly onto our room from 8am in the morning which lasted until check out. At check out I started a conversation with the lady on reception, (remained friendly as I am aware they do not control works at the hotel) and just asked if I could complain that we were not informed of the works prior to booking and if they could feed this back for service improvement. This lady's response was incredibly rude not just to me but also to my daughter. I will not stay or recommend this particular premier Inn hotel, primarily due to the customer service which was very poor.
