After a rocky start with a mix up with room we totally enjoyed the stay. I had booked a superior room but it wasn't available even though I booked about 4 weeks previously. Was really really disappointed as it was a belated 60th birthday present for my friend. But the hotel staff went over and above to try to rectify the issue. A couple of room options was offered but kept the cozy double they had given us. They put the robes and wine in the room and a part refund. So would like to say thank you to the staff for being helpful. I was disappointed at first but had a great time there anyway. So thank you again.

Hotel's Favourite
The hotel has undergone a huge renovation and it is absolutely beautiful. Our bedroom was large, stylish and had special touches such as a coffee machine, robes and a ginormous bed! We had a city square view which we loved. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly, welcoming and helpful and made us feel special. The bar is gorgeous and the drinks menu vast and such a beautiful spot to start your evening. We didn't eat at the hotel as had reservations elsewhere. We will definitely book again as it exceeded all our expectations.

The hotel renovation is stunning, the rooms are beautiful and insta friendly. There is tea, coffee and hot chocolate available in the room. The hotel didn’t let us know the renovation work was ongoing outside so our room view was completely blocked by scaffolding. They were also working on this at 8am so no chance of a lie in. Room 210 - As a couple we were disappointed to be allocated an adjoining room and were awoke from Noise through the adjoining door on the first night. The breakfast is not vegetarian or vegan friendly. There are cereals, pastries and a little fruit but no vegetarian sausages out, you have to ask for them and they aren’t great! On the first day, the waitress didn’t give us a breakfast menu so we didn’t know that was all included. Please ask for a breakfast menu if you are seated without one. Especially if you are vegetarian as there are more options. The hotel staff are on the ball and very helpful. Yaima at breakfast greeted us with a lovely memorable smile. She was very attentive and helpful. The night Porter was a bit too strict when we came back to the hotel the second night. He couldn’t seem to understand the concept of 2 men sharing a room so we underwent question time on returning after midnight. The rooms were clean and tidy; just a few spots of dust missed here and there. Overall it was a good stay and with a few tweaks could be a 4/5 star.

I stayed here for one night and was aware it was undergoing renovation. The revamped reception, bar and attached restaurant were plush, luxurious and inviting. Only one lift was working which wasn't too bad as I just walked up to my floor but not ideal if you were higher up. My room was really quite small but served its purpose and was modern. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice as well as being clean, and the rainfall shower was very good with instant hot water. After reading other reviews I felt a bit left out, no Elemis toiletries in my room (just a basic brand), no robes or slippers or anything like that. The minibar was totally empty, others 'moaned' about only have a few beers, soft drinks and wines left in there and being complimentary but I had nothing! One thing I didn't like, why do Hotels have a carpet in the bedroom? Unless this is steam cleaned between visits, it's just really unhygienic and grotty to have a carpet in the room. I used the gym which was well equipped with modern equipment, a lot packed into a fairly small space but very functional. They just needed to have topped up the empty water and hand gel. I opted to pay for breakfast but whilst it was 'ok', it was really a bit naff to be truthful. I think you could order some eggs not that I was told this, otherwise it featured a very limited hot buffet with 90% of hot food being sausages/bacon etc which I don't eat. However, there was enough food as well as breads/cereals etc that it was fine for what it was. I was surprised they couldn't even make a Latte and only served black coffee in a pot. The breakfast felt like 2*-3* really, just disappointing. The staff were great, extremely friendly front of house staff who just helped with the little things to make my day better-I was allowed to check in several hours early for example. The hotel couldn't be better located, literally a minute or two from the station and well placed to visit all of Leeds City Centre. I'm not actually a fan of 'old' hotels as they can be quite depressing and musty, but the more that is revamped as the work progresses, I can see it being an even nicer property. Whilst being modernised, it does have many nice art-deco touches. I would recommend it and certainly seems to be one of the very best in Leeds. For those concerned about Covid, there are very few measures in place here unfortunately. Staff not wearing masks, very little hand gel, the one lift etc. I was OK with it by being careful but appreciate others may not be.

I recently spent one night at the queens for a work Trip, and all I can say is that I wish I had longer there! The decor is beautiful! The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. I feel that my room was on the small side, but the bed and pillows were amazing! I had a great night sleep. The floor length light up mirror was fab! Breakfast the next morning was excellent, and if I had more time I would have ordered from the further menu. I ate in grand pacific. Being on my own I felt anxious about eating alone, but the wait staff were so friendly and chatty that I felt completely at ease. Both food and cocktails were fab. I really hope to return for a leisure trip very soon!
