This hotel is really well located, easy to find, about a mile from the city centre, walking distance from a retail park & supermarket, McDonald's next door and a bus stop round the corner. There is free (very secure) parking for guests. Bar/restaurant is fine, good choice of drinks, food menu limited due to Covid. Breakfast was included in my room rate. Although it was a basic breakfast (Covid again), it did the job and filled us up. Breakfast service times were broad too - 6am-10am. Free fast wifi throughout the hotel. Rooms clean and basic, shower no bath, shower gel provided. Only one towel, so I asked for more. Loads of plug sockets which was great. Good blackout curtain. Tea & coffee making area. The best bit about this hotel though is its staff. Now, I understand that due to the situation, the hotel was probably really under populated so the staff had more time on their hands etc, but they were great. Nothing was too much trouble. I had my 5 year old with me and they made him feel so special, he got some Halloween treats and they even let him name the skeleton decoration. Sylvia in particular was amazing, playing tricks on him at Halloween and he is so sad he didn't get to say a proper goodbye as she wasn't working when we checked out. Please tell her Jack said bye, thank you and he will miss Ibis! As a base (we visited Cadbury and Drayton Manor) this hotel was perfect and I hope we can repeat this trip next year in better times.…
The hotel is immaculate, the staff are amazing and the food is great what more could you ask for? Well it's a minor point and if I had asked the staff they did say they could have moved me but I never try not to get a room at the front!!!! If the weather is warm and you sleep with the window open then you get the boy/girl racers going round all night long. Not something that the hotel is responsible for but be aware. Even with the current restrictions the staff do their best and it's more than enough to make you comfortable.
Stayed at this ibis sat/sun night. On arrival to our room we only had one pillow each and one towel. Reception quickly dealt with this issue. No complaints there. The Room was clean and tidy, but very very hot!! Thank god it wasn’t 30 degrees plus. The bed was comfortable, however what the hell are those pillows about??!! Hard as rocks. Not comfortable whatsoever!! Please invest in new ones. Hotels location is pretty good for cab/drive into central Birmingham and we had no longer than a 2-3 minute wait for an Uber. However the location is terribly noisy! It seems the Birmingham kids like to ride quad bikes around at stupid hours around the roundabout outside. Take ear plugs!! Had a brilliant weekend, but wouldn’t stay again.
Stayed at this hotel a couple of times. There was plenty of free parking which is good so close to the city centre. Staff were polite. Rooms were tidy and just the normal Ibis room standard. Bed was comfy and good WiFi speeds and large tv screen. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room. It was quiet at night and easy to get to sleep even though hotel situated on major road junction. There is a McDonald’s next door so I went there for breakfast. There was an eating and bar area in the reception area which has been busy on both my visits. This hotel is about a mile from the bullring and took me 15 minutes to walk too. Would stay at this hotel again.
Stopped here as going to see a band at the nearby Dead Wax pub. Plenty of free parking, quick check in, room nice and clean although the bathroom had a musty smell. Bed was very comfortable. The room we had is actually overlooked by the adjacent housing. Checkout was also quick.
