The location of The Golden Ball Inn is in a really picturesque location, in a small village just above Ironbridge and offers a nice location to be away from the hustle of the town itself but still be within walking distance. Be wary of the very winding road that leads to the hotel though and the spiral type stairs to rooms 1-3, which does make getting a large suitcase up and down a little challenging. We were staying here on our way back from our holiday, to break up our long journey home and to take in the sights of Ironbridge and the Blists Hill Victoria Village. The staff were friendly and polite and the food was very nice. We ate outside on two occasions, the first was a very good experience, the food was well cooked and came quickly, although we missed dessert as the kitchen closed earlier than we expected, unfortunately the second time was a 30 minute wait before we even ordered a drink and the food was slow to follow. There did not seem to be enough staff on for the number of patrons. Our room decoration was a little tired and could do with some updating but having said that, our stay was very pleasant and our dog was welcome in all parts of the venue and the beds and linen were comfortable and clean. We would recommend staying here if you would like good value for money with a really lovely location to base yourself. The staff were friendly and accommodating of any requests we made. Bearing all this in mind, it is an 18th century inn and full of character throughout. A nice outdoor space to the front and a nice garden area to the rear. Breakfast area was clean and well laid out and the food was really good. Worth the cost for B&B in such a lovely location.

Just spent a long weekend with them and it was splendid. Friendly welcome, bright comfortable room, marvellous breakfast with real coffee, spectacular location and a great selection of bar meals, we had the full Sunday lunch and it was huge with all the trimmings. Nice outdoor space. Wouldn't hesitate to go again. Congratulations Sophie and crew Kate and Stuart

Last minute booking and we were pleasantly surprised... the golden ball is a quaint Inn, spotlessly clean and the room was immaculate... We didn't eat here but will definitely sample the food next time. Totally enjoyed our stay here and the peace and quiet was just what the Dr ordered

Not be going back, food good but not enough, to bring vegetables for 4 that was clearly not sufficient was poor. I did request extra veg, to which was a yes, after a 10 minute wait and I asked on 2 occasions where is the veg it eventually came but at that time my main had gone cold. I was told busy doing prep in kitchen, dont know why was only several of us eating.....

Haven't been here for a good few years so decided to give it another go and meet friends here for lunch. Greeting wasn't overly friendly, but that might have been more to do with the fact that England had just lost the rugby world cup, so I won't hold that against them! I ordered the prawn sandwich on granary, my husband had the cooked ham, my friend ordered the tuna on granary and her husband has the steak baguette. Apart from the tuna sandwich turning up on a baguette, all was very fresh and nicely presented, although next time I'll ask for no dressing on my salad... All in all a very pleasant afternoon in a nice, cosy pub with a real fire. We will revisit.
