Seemed friendly enough but when we approached the bar and asked for a table for two, the response was “…I can sit you outside”. We were like, oh, ok - there were lots of free tables inside but we figured perhaps they were all booked. So we ordered our food and drinks and sat outside. And then witnessed loads of people who hadn’t booked (you overhear things) sitting inside. My husband went and asked another member of staff if perhaps there had been any cancellations on the tables inside and could we sit inside if so? She was surprised and said, “yeah, sit where you like!”. So we felt a bit odd about being sat outside for no apparent reason. But the food was good - we ordered a beef brisket (came with slaw and fries) and a chicken/ribs combo (also with slaw and fries). The chicken was excellent and the brisket was also great, but the ribs were a bit overdone and dry. Chips and slaw were very good.

Great food that was reasonably priced, friendly service with a smile. Wide selection of beers and ales appeared to be well kept. Nice location by the road / river and seating outside (quirky toilets lol !!) Would eat here again, recommended.

I was quiet surprised when we got there looked really rough outside but not to bad inside the room was ok I try not to be judgemental as the price was cheap and you get what you pay for all the staff very young and inexperienced particular bar staff several issues but lack of training from owners probably meal was OK but had to ask few times to get our order taken main course ok but the pudding was nuked to death it was burnt and rock hard told waitress she took it away no apology would I like something else then I thought they might take of the bill which also took forever to get ,we had breakfast at malthouse the breakfast was completely wrong it wasn't difficult also coffee was forever then that was wrong the worst bit was the walk from the swan and back again via back entrance it was filthy had walk past kitchen everywhere was greasy even the floor and the extraction fan on wall nearly made me sick good job we eaten night before because I wouldn't of wanted to see that I very rarely leave a review but they sent emails when we got back raised the microwave pudding and no reply and I commented on a pudding picture on there Facebook all they did was remove acknowledgement is what you should do keep the customer happy

Really quiet when we visited. Staff were excellent - polite & friendly. Food was great. We only used the restaurant - we didn't use the hotel facilities. Great waterfront location if you are visiting Ironbridge

Yet again we’ve come for dinner, as a birthday treat for our son. We booked for 5pm, arrived in plenty of time and whilst drinks order was taken quickly, the waitress walked away and had to come back to check what we wanted! We then waited over 30 mins to order food. Even by 615pm we still didn’t have any food and watched as other tables who arrived after us received theirs. No one approached the table to apologise. No one came to take additional drinks orders (assumed that we were having water?!). This seems to be a recurring theme with very poor, slow service. Whilst I can accept staff issues due to covid, today’s experience is not new and not acceptable to wait for service, wait so long for food and have such poor interaction with staff. As locals who frequent the place regularly, and their sister pub The Malthouse, we will be very reluctant to return.
