Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice receptionists they really helped me through the day, I traveled from Germany. And instantly got support whenever I’ve had questions. Thanks a lot to Nishum and Dhanu! They’re doing a great job! I really recommend this hotel of people want to visit Reading. It’s in the middle of the city and you can get anywhere easily.

Nice clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Room was basic (as expected), but clean and large. Nice towels. Well stocked tea and coffee. Surprisingly comfortable bed. 5 minute walk to car park. Would definitely return if needed to stay in Reading again. Very good location for town centre shops and restaurants.

It is the perfect hotel in Reading for budget accommodation. I often stay here as a preferred choice when staying in town. The rooms are warm, the showers are hot, the beds are comfy and it is centrally located. I am always made to feel welcome when I stay. The staff are always personable and attentive, it feels more like a little family run hotel. Dhanu has a beautiful nature and welcoming smile that doesn't go unnoticed. Recommended.

A nice Travelodge in the Centre of Reading. Dhanu was really friendly and welcoming on reception and was a massive help with our bags. The room was comfortable and we got a good night sleep for a decent price. The room was clean and tidy and I would recommend that you ask for the quiet side so that you don't get a busy main road.

Incredibly disappointed with my stay. Room was hot and smelt very strongly of Indian takeaway on arrival. Bedding had blood on it. Bedhead in poor repair. Bathroom door did not close. Outer window was impossible to close due to the position of the television set and the inner window frame. Shower clearly cleaned but smelt very musty. Room 205 is next door to the linen room. Staff used this room loudly after midnight at 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. talking, banging the door repeatedly, and shaking sheets out. This woke me up multiple times, and I did not sleep well. There were no hairdryers available, I had to go out and buy one. The lift did not work. My card to enter the building stopped working during my stay and needed changing, which was another inconvenience. None of this is the fault of the staff who were very pleasant. Perfect location with cafes and shops nearby, just a shame that the place isn't well maintained. There's bog standard and then there's this.

I understand this is a budget hotel but it was extremely dirty, our room smelt of smoke- if you need to stay somewhere central I advise going to the premier inn instead it’s much cleaner! If I could apply for a refund I would!
