Great hotel in the city centre near all the colleges and the the shops. Nice rooms quirky in style because the hotel is in an old building. Very clean, very good public areas, staff very friendly and efficient. Would recommend this hotel

Dear Mr C Thank you very much for your recent review, we very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel. Oxford is a busy and vibrant city, with very few rooms in the city centre and we are the smallest and least expensive of the hotel located in the city centre. I was pleased to note that the team had looked after you, we have a certain buzz around the hotel just now with our new Keepers Kitchen and Bar - a bright, rustic and relaxing area to meet, eat and drink. Thank you again for sharing your experience and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Kind regards Peter Watt General Manager

Good central location. Room a little small, but nicely presented, clean with nice bathroom. Pleasant (but pricey) bar area, but watch out for the sneaky “service charge” just for pouring you a drink. On site parking is handy, but expensive at £20 per night. Staff were friendly

Dear Nottingham Rob Thank you for your kind review, really appreciated and a huge morale boost to the team. I was pleased to note that you had visited our new Keepers Kitchen and Bar, it is a spacious and bright area to relax in and open from Breakfast right through to late evening, with a selection of dishes, wines and cocktails plus some wonderful honey flavours from our local beehives. Oxford is a busy and vibrant city, with very few rooms in the city centre and we are the smallest and least expensive of the hotel located in the city centre. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we trust you had a safe journey home Kind regards Peter Watt General Manager

An elegant “townhouse” style hotel located in the centre of Oxford within walking distance of everywhere . Park your car in the hotel’s own car park (almost a unique facility in oxford!) and relax! Service was professional and welcoming from everyone we met. A premier room was

Dear Flyer 3000 Thank you so very much for your kind review, a huge morale boost to the team and an added bonus to their day.. Oxford is a beautiful and historic city and we are ideally located in the centre, opposite the main examination hall and surrounded by the various colleges of the university. We only opened our restaurant - Keeper Kitchen and Bar, last week and we are really enjoying the freshness and light that the new design is giving us. It is a joy to work in a brand new concept to Oxford and the transformation has been really appreciated by the team and our loyal guests, thank you.. I, thank you for your lovely review and we look forward to to welcoming you back in the future. With best wishes Peter Watt General Mnager

Very nicely presented hotel. Excellent location for the City Centre and Colleges. Room very clean and modern. Did have to ask for coffee pods for Nespresso though! - twice! No robes - which was a bit disappointing

Dear Iain Thank you very much for your kind review, really appreciated and a huge morale boost to the team. Oxford is a beautiful and historic city and we are ideally located in the centre, opposite the main examination hall and surrounded by the various colleges of the university. I do apologise for the lack of bathrobes and for having to continually request coffee pods for your nespresso coffee machine. We do have a great team in our housekeeping department, however a couple of them are new to the United Kingdom and their command of the English language is not always great however improving every day. In closing thank you for your review and we look forward to to welcoming you back in the future. With kind regards Peter Watt General Mnager

Our 3rd time back at this hotel and what a disappointment. From the moment we walked into reception our trip was mapped out. A snooty cold welcime from the French girl on reception set the tone. Poor customer service and made us feel unwelcome from the beginning. We tried to

Dear Jeff D Thank you for your recent response and my sincere apologies for the lack of welcome that you encountered on your recent arrival at the hotel. Please be assured that your concerns have been noted and the young lady on reception has been spoken to, as I can assure that this is not the standard I would wish or expect from a member of the front desk personnel. I do apologfse for the noise from the council drainage wagon, we had not been notified by the council, and upon investigation on the Monday, it would that further up the High Street, a main sewage pipe had sprunk a leak and it was an emergency repair. The first night the lorry was there and then the second night it disappeared and in fact we all thought they had completed the repairs only to discover it was back again. I am so sorry we had not receive an update or notification from the council. We do hope that you will re-visit the hotel, and if you would care to contact myself direct, so I may personally apologise and ensure that your requirements are noted and guarantee your total comfort and satisfaction. Yours sincerely Peter Watt General Manager

Please can you inform us about car parking at hotel? Are cars secure and the cost of parking for two nights?
sorry for delayed response but there is parking at the side of the hotel which is secure but it costs about 25 pounds a night which I disapprove as a paying hotel guest.
