Stayed here in December for 2 nights and it was our second visit, the room has everything you need, fridge with fresh milk, water, kitkat and some pop, iron, ironing board and even a shoe horn, we were in room 4 and the 4 poster is really comfortable. Tony and Diana are lovely hosts and breakfast was really nice and there is a very good choice of hot food and the home made granola was very good. There was a group of us, couples, we had different rooms but they accommodated us all for breakfast at he same time. It's about a 15-20 nice minute walk into York so you can walk your breakfast off, there is a bus stop across the road and a taxi costs between £7-£8. As we were there in December everywhere is decorated for Christmas which makes it feel very special. Already booked for December this year 🙂

Just stayed here for 2 nights with my partner and will definitely be back!! The hosts were very welcoming and very attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Our room we stayed in was fab with the superkingsize bed!! All the rooms are beautifully decorated (Had a nosey through the open doors when the cleaners were in 🤣) Everything was finished to a beautiful standard! The breakfast was very nice and the ordering through the app was very easy to do! Lovely clean place to stay just a 15 min walk from york! Will defo be back!

We were both very impressed by the Tower Guest house. Both hosts Dianna and Tony were very helpful, kind and accommodating. Being our first time in York they gave great recommendations on things to do over our stay.

We have had a. fantastic 4 night break at the Tower House guest house in York. We stayed in room 2 , called Samurai four poster king, situated on the ground floor, this room is beautifully decorated, with a king size four poster bed, the room is air conditioned, with a some lovely touches added to it. There’s a mini fridge in your room, an iron and ironing board, a hidden wardrobe, large tv. Bottled water in your room with tea, and coffee sugars and fresh milk is in the fridge. there is even a bottle opener and cork screw in the draw. The lighting is softly lit to give it the perfect romantic feeling. I love the sunken bath and the overhead shower, the detailing in this room is superb., theres a light up mirror with a shaving power point included. There’s a hairdryer, and a small sewing box in the room too.
The cooked breakfast is very tasty and plentiful,I love how you can use the app and pre order your breakfast time and meal, great idea. The host Tony and Diana are absolutely lovely, and make you feel very welcome, there customer service is exceptional, they address you by name, they ensure your breakfast freshly cooked every day and Diana cooks eggs to perfection, we even purchased a dozen eggs whilst we were there as they taste amazing.
If you want a pleasant enjoyable stay in York, I definitely would recommend this guest house. It’s beautifully decorated inside and out, great interior designs, spotlessly clean. Free parking and is situated approx 15 mins walk from the town. We will be back in the near future. Thank you Tony and Diana for being perfect hosts.

Absolutely Fantastic Stay we were greeted by the owner who gave us our room cards and he explained to us about how to get around in York I was there with a Couple of friends The Rooms Were Spotless and Very well Maintained you wanted for Nothing in the Room….Ironing Board Fridge with Milk Water Chocolate and Soft Drinks The Bathroom was very good with a walk in Shower Very Comfortable Bed with a TV….Bathroom had underfloor heating……Kettle with Coffee and Tea….A Good Car Park for Residents was a Bonus……We stopped just one night as we had come for the Christmas Market…..Easy walk into town…..
Breakfast was Pre Ordered on the App With Fruit Yogurts and Musli and Orange Juice…..The Cooked Breakfast was of a very high Standard with Toast on the side……The was a Coffee machine to help your self…..

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights as a base to explore York and it was absolutely amazing. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. The freshly cooked breakfast included was delicious! Comfortable, clean rooms. The location was ideal, only a 20 minute walk into the centre of York and shops pubs etc just a 5 minute walk down the road. My wife and i stayed at the Tower guest house 7th August for 1 night.On arrival we where warmly greeted by the host Tony who explained everything and showed us the app they use.The guest house is immaculately clean and you can relly tell the hosts Tony and Diana put there heart and sole into it.We stayed in the Oak 4 poster bedroom,it was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Tea and coffee was provided in the room with fresh milk,water pop and chocolate bars in the fridge as well.The breakfast was excellent and you chose what you wanted and time etc through the app,you could also use the coffee machine downstairs whenever you wanted.We will definitely be returning here (for a 2 night stay)and would like to thank Tony and Diana for making us feel so welcome.

Me and my partner stayed here a few years back and were that impressed that when my parents mentioned they would like to visit York I decided to book us a couple of rooms.
We stayed in the same room as before, the samurai which has a wonderful sunken bath and I booked the other ground floor room for my parents which was beautifully decorated and so pretty.
The breakfasts are really good, the food is high quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. Diana’s homemade granola is delicious and must definitely be tried! Tony goes above and beyond to be the perfect host and make you feel welcome.
The free shuttle service into York centre previously offered by Tony on our last stay is no longer available which was unfortunate as my mum recently injured her foot so can’t walk far. There is however a bus stop directly across the road but We found with 4 of us it was cheaper and more convenient to use Uber at £6 each way to York minster. If walking isn’t a problem it is only a 20/30 minute walk.
The rooms were cleaned and fresh towels provided In between our 2 night stay which was good but our only negative is that the walls and skirting were very dusty especially around the door and attention needs paying to this.
We all very much enjoyed our stay and would come back in the future.

Just returned home from a Brilliant 2 night stay at Tower Guest House. Absolutely Superb experience !!! The owners Tony & Diana are really nice people who know how to make sure you enjoy your stay. Which we certainly did. Tony is front of house, really friendly, & very accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Diana was lovely, she provided us with a gorgeous well presented cooked breakfast as well as fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, toast , fresh orange. All served in a smart modern dining room. Couldn't fault a thing. The guest house itself is a 10 -15 walk into town or there is a bus stop just over the road. All rooms are individual & tastfully decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Fridge in the room with bottled water, complimentary cans of pop inside, & also fresh milk, tea, coffee, etc. Can't wait for a second visit. Thank you for your hospitality Tony & Diana. We will Most Definately be back.

Fantastic place to stay,only disappointment is we only stayed one night!!.. lovely room,no 1 on the ground floor. Excellent blinds kept out all the light, very comfortable bed, exceptionally clean.. Fridge in the room and kettle, coffee, teas etc Can also use the coffee machine in the kitchen are and have a flat white/ latte and many more options.. Breakfast was of a very good quality and lot's of choices... using the app to check in and pre order breakfast was so easy..on site parking a boon, walking into the centre took us just over ten minutes . Really lovely owner, nothing too much trouble..We hope to visit again soon....

Most guests choose the 10-15 minute walk to the city centre but there is also a frequent bus service. The bus stop is just across the road from the guest house. The No. 6 runs every 10-15 minutes Monday to Saturday to 6pm and then every half hour after 6pm and all day Sundays. The No. 40 runs every hour. Exit at Theatre Royal for the Minster. Exit at Stonebow for Castle Museum and Cliffords Tower. Download the First Bus app for live timetable.

You can take the No 6 Bus which leaves from the Railway Station every 10 minutes or so. The bus stop is about 200 m to the left as you leave the station. Exit the bus at the stop after the York General Hospital. Alternatively, taxi fares are quite cheap, about GBP 6.00.
Sorry, we can only accept children of eight year or older.
