Just returned from a weekend away and stayed at The Riftswood Received a warm welcome from Paula, your hospitality is second to none. My husband and I would recommend your B & B, free parking outside, comfortable room number 2, great locally sourced produce for breakfast, good selection of beverages in our room too, we will definitely return. Thank You Paula
Just returned from a lovely, relaxing few days in Whitby, where we stayed at Riftswood B&B... What a fabulous place, Paula and Peter are the perfect hosts and also serve up a blinding breakfast that will set you up for the day. The room was spacious with all amenities covered, tea, coffee etc you are free to come and go as you please and it's literally a 5 minute walk to the coast/beach..... Perfect all round, would highly recommend and will definitely be going back .... Loved every minute, and not forgetting Denzel, the most friendliest dog ever... thank you so much, Sarah & Carl x
This is the third time we have visited this guest house so that should tell you something. As ever we had a lovely stay with Paula, Peter and Denzil. Everything was just as nice as before. The room was lovely, breakfast was excellent and filled me up for the day and of course there is the benefit of free parking which is a real bonus. If you are coming to Whitby this is the place to stay just leave room for me as we will be coming again.
We have stayed at Riftswood before and again were not disappointed this time round. The room was good size for me my wife and our 9 year old. Very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast's are excellent. Very good list of fayre to choose from. The wonderful hospitality we received from start to finish from Paula and Peter ( and Denzil ) is second to none they look after you so well and will go out of their way to accommodate any requests you may have. Very homely and but also very customer focused on making your stay as wonderful as they can make it. Going again hopefully this year if not definitely next year. Thank you Paula and Peter for a lovely stay.
Had a lovely few days away in Whitby , by chance we found a amazing hideaway down a cul-de-sac on the west cliff .The setting is ideal close to town & beach we are keen walkers so it was ideal base for us .The owners are a lovely couple more than helpful & obliging, also both Paul & Paula had a lot of local knowledge about walks & sights we did;nt know about ,the room was spotless ,well decorated very comfortable bed .The breakfast was beautifully cooked a large selection keeps you going for most of the day.also a bonus was "Denzil"their dog a character only seen if you wanted him to be ,all in all a great time will definatley be back again ,hopefully soon
Having left it worryingly late to get somewhere for bank holiday weekend, we were at a stage where anywhere would have done. To our surprise, we were able to get into Riftswood and will be staying here every time we come back. Firstly, the hosts Paula and Pete (not forgetting Denzel!) were fantastic the entire weekend. Friendly to chat to, attentive and more than helpful with all our queries, you'd be missing out on their hosting if you stayed elsewhere. Their knowledge of the surrounding area was great too, as this was our first time coming to Whitby. Secondly, the room itself was lovely and everything you'd need for a short stay, with plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits available. The en suite in our room was tidy and clean so this, in addition to the excellent hosts makes it a must-visit. Lastly, the food and location. Really good breakfasts on both mornings with more than enough options to cover all requirements and a nice layout in the dining area so you didn't feel too cramped but could easily converse with other guests. We were around a ten minute walk into Whitby, nearby a local shop and takeaway and couldn't recommend this place more. The value is brilliant when you consider everything you're getting and will 100% be returning to see these genuinely lovely people. …
Stayed two nights Pete & Paula great hosts, we was made to feel very welcome, lovely breakfast great choice, great location on west cliff five- ten minutes walk to town would definitely recommend Col & Kath
We had our first trip away from home after lockdown and we had a wonderful break. The welcome was as warm as ever and the breakfasts top notch! Paula and Peter have put a great deal of time and effort in preparing Riftswood for guests in line with Covid guidelines. We felt in safe hands. We’re looking forward to going back again.
We stayed for one night in March. Great place to stay and bonus that you get free parking right outside. 10 mins walk to the town, so it's really convenient too. The service and food was excellent. Paula was so helpful and it was so interesting to learn about the history of the house built in 1892. The feature fire places are beautiful too. We were also offered a complimentary glass of wine in the evening which was a lovely touch.Overall was a great night away and I would recommend it for sure. We will be back for sure. Thanks for a lovely stay . Adam & Marek
