Friendly, professional, clean, receptive and very helpful. Really nice people.
It’s an old building so the floors are a bit rickety of course and my room had slanted floors, but the price is very reasonable. I misunderstood when they said how many bathrooms they had for all of the guests to share. I thought they said 2, but it’s more like over 10. More than enough to share so you are never are waiting. My room faced the street, so it was a little noisy, which might be difficult if you’re a light sleeper.
It’s very close to parks, artisan coffee shops, convenient stores and fruit stands. In between three great metro/underground stations.

I stayed for 3 nights at the St. Athans Hotel. The shared bathroom situation was not a problem for me at any point during my stay. There was a mini sink in my room as well that I used water/teeth brushing. Also there are multiple bathrooms that you have access to. I was pleasantly surprised at the amazing location of the hotel. It is 1 block away from the Russel Street Underground station and definitely a walkable distance to SOHO. I wished that my key card got me into the building but they have a buzzer and the front desk is manned 24 hours a day. I got back one night at 2-2:30am rang the buzzer and someone was there in a few seconds. I have already and will continue to recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent place to stay.

I've travelled to a lot of places and stayed in a lot of hotels. But St Athans was one of the most comfortable and clean places to date. Carl made us feel immediately welcome, the room was ready ahead of our arrival which is highly rare.
The room was very tidy, clean and a joy to stay in. The location is absolutely brilliant, with a convenient in between for Central London and Camden Town.
A must for all travellers. I shall certainly be staying there again.

After doing a lot of looking online, we decided to stay here as it looked pleasant. However, it wasn't as good as it looked online. If you're someone looking for a last minute stay and you're not bothered about cleanliness etc then this is for you. However, it certainly wasn't for us.
When we arrived we were greeted by two lovely ladies, we filled out the relevant information for Covid (However, it seemed like a lot of unnecessary information that they wanted compared to other places). We were then shown to our room, by a new lady who didn't know where she was going so we went the wrong way a few times, which is fine as everyone has to start somewhere.
The stair cases and the corridor outside our room had a horrible smell, but luckily it wasn't in our room. Then we come to our room, which was very very small, with just one set of plug sockets, and wasn't all that clean to be fair, the floor definitely needed a hoover and some of the visible corners looked like they had never been cleaned as there were a lot of cobwebs. The window in the room didn't close either so immediately we were on edge and wondered if we could stay here.
We then took a trip to the shared bathroom, which was down some stairs and felt like a basement. It was dark and scary, we decided we would stick to going in a pair when needed. The shower only got luke warm and when you came out you had a tiny towel on the floor to stand on that looked like it had been used by others. In the end we decided we wouldn't enjoy our time in London if we stayed here and felt very uncomfortable so ended up leaving and not staying the night we had book. We opted for the premier inn round the corner instead.
The staff were lovely, but the hotel just wasn't what we were expecting, a bit disappointing and a waste of money.

Sorry to read your review. Our hotel is based in a 200 year old Georgian Townhouse which is why the rooms are small, the shared toilets and showers are all between floors and the place is generally quite quirky (unlike Premier Inns) - so it not for everyone. However, as we take cleanliness very seriously we're unhappy to read this - so will review our room cleaning checks, and hope to do better.

My son and I stayed in early January and really enjoyed it. Probably the best thing was the location - you’ve got the tube station around the corner but you can walk to so many great places too. The British Museum is a must visit and as it’s only 5 minutes walk, and free, we went twice. We slept well in a twin room, the bedding was crisp and clean and while the room was basic (nothing fancy) it was fine for what we needed. We paid more to have an en-suite room but I used the shared bathrooms a couple of times and they were fine. We had a room on the third floor and there is no lift so there were a lot of stairs - if you have a lot of luggage or mobility issues that could be a problem.
After a bit of research I found if you book through the hotel website it’s cheaper than if you do it throughExpedia/Booking.com, so we ended up with a really good value deal. Lastly, our train out of London wasn’t until the early evening but the hotel has a locked luggage room where they kept our bags for free. We look forward to our next visit.

We only stayed one night in this lovely hotel, on the first day of our London trip. It was truly a warm, homey experience. We arrived hotel very early in the morning and the staff kindly let us check in so we could leave the luggage in the room and start sightseeing. The next day we went to Cambridge for one night and would come back to London the following day. Even though they knew that we would not be staying in this hotel upon our return to London as we had booked a hotel elsewhere already, they still proactively offered to store our two big luggage suitcases in their storage room, so we had a much more convenient Cambridge trip! We felt very at home here - looked after as though we were family. For a stay in central London, I think this hotel is a good value for money.

Unfortunately my husband and I tested positive for covid and are due to stay at this hotel on Friday. We had hoped to get a refund so that we could book again when we were well but I appreciate that we didn’t choose the free cancellation option when booking. Hopefully the hotel’s other customers will not mind us staying whilst we are both positive with covid. Just in case anyone is staying who may have an underlying health condition I’m posting in case you want to consider using your free cancellation option rather than risk coming into contact with us during your stay.

Booking a Non-Refundable reservation is what it says on the tin. When the Pandemic first showed up we gave all Non-refundable bookings a chance to rebook, but after the 2nd wave it was clear that people now knew the risks of choosing this type of booking. It’s the gamble you take for paying a few pounds less. Now in the UK, Covid is now treated as like the influenza it is, and is no longer considered a danger to the public. I trust that you will wear masks when in public areas and inform the reception when you arrive. Safe travels, and see you tomorrow.

Small but clean room. Can get a little loud outside at night. Bathroom located outside the room, but private. Staff is very friendly. No elevators available, so ask for a ground floor room if you're mobility-impaired or have heavy luggage.

This hotel is super-conveniently located in a very vibrant, youthful part of London, walking distance to several tube stops and steps from a bus that can take you right through London to the south bank! Many restaurants, cafes, and small museums surround the hotel also. It is charmingly decorated and staffed with friendly helpful folks. Be warned though, it is made up of several adjoining small hotels, build when humans were smaller. The halls and stairs are narrow, and the bathroom is shared. But the windows open, the bed was super comfortable and the decor lovely. And the price is very affordable. Highly recommend this hotel in Bloomsbury1

I also booked a room with its own bathroom but saw that there were two rooms next to my room which had a shared bathroom between them. I think it depends on which building and which floor your room would be located, the hotel is made up of several buildings laying next to eachother, connected on the ground level via a long corridor. Best to ask the hotel?
Don’t know if they all do, but I was able to get a room that did.
Hello. We currently have en-suite rooms with a single and double bed, not two single beds. So larger than you might need, but otherwise fine.
I don't know the location of the triple room. Best to let the hotel staff answer that.
Hey Wronnie, we don't have any laundry facilities for guests to use, but there's a laundromat on Marchmont St, less than half a minute from the St Athans, and also a Dry Cleaners just around the corner.
