The location of the hotel allowed us to walk to many attractions (London Eye, Westminster, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, Chinatown, Leicester Square, Covent Garden). One day we also arrived at Harrods warehouses, but it's a bit more challenging!
However, the subway (Waterloo stop) is about 5/7 minutes away.
The rooms are discreet. We had a setback with an annoying noise coming from the adjacent "Fire door"; the only solution was to replace the room. The reception contacted the waitress on duty (it was 10:30 pm when I reported the problem) and in 15/20 minutes we had a new room.
Breakfast in my opinion above average. Try the Waffles...

This is the second time we have stayed here. The staff here are amazing! Everyone is so kind and helpful from getting you a taxi, seemless check in process, buying a quick bottle of pop! The location is great - about 5 minute walk to the Waterloo train station! The rooms are a great size and they along with the rest of the property are so clean. The breakfast buffet is amazing. Plentiful, clean, amazing selection. All the people that work at breakfast are so helpful and happy to engage. We also had dinner here one night and it was wonderful! The pumpkin soup was a nice Autumn Surprise! Our waiter was the best! We will be back for sure! The management of this hotel is just superior - and the happy faces of all the employees here signal that this must be a great place to work! Keep on doing what you are doing!

This hotel is in a good location only a few minutes walk from Waterloo train station, and a 25 min walk to Covent Garden. The staff are all really helpful and friendly. Room is clean, liquid shower gel are full. Towels fluffy. Big walk in shower. Kettle with tea and coffee. We overlooked the shard from 8th floor. Room was really quiet, enough sockets located by the bed too.
Breakfast is amazing, for a full hotel and the amount of people to feed, this is one of the most organised systems I have seen to ensure people are queuing for a table in order, and then escorted to a table, the food is plentiful, huge variety, constantly being topped up, and hot, the breakfast staff are just superb and it’s a well oiled operation with everyone knowing what needs doing, I hope the restaurant manager is recognised for their leadership. There is a little snack area to purchase items in reception but outside there is a Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
I would recommend this hotel, I would not recommend checking in using the digital key, I had trouble connecting to WiFi and the passcode is available at reception, and once inside the room you need a key card to switch on room power, so I had to go down to reception for WiFi password and physical key, which defeated the object of having the digital key. However a really nice stay though.

Overview: for those familiar with the Hampton brand in the U.S., this property differs in that it is more of a full-service hotel, and larger than most Hampton's stateside.

The Good: Relatively modern design, with a bar/seating area in the lobby, and an attached restaurant open for breakfast (included) and dinner. The breakfast spread is significantly more elaborate than one would find in a US Hampton, and the staff does a pretty good job regulating and managing it. I wouldn't say the food was anything special, but there are more options than in the US and you certainly can't beat the price. The hotel is well located, on the same street as Waterloo station, with easy access to the Underground (without having to walk through the whole train station) and trains, including service to Windsor. It is a very easy walk just down the block. There is more staffing than one would see in a US Hampton as well. This hotel is probably the best Hilton Honors redemption value in London. I find Hilton Honors to be the least generous of the various programs, and rooms in London are often (literally) hundreds of thousands of points per night. The Hampton is consistently 60,000 points. For peak periods, the room rates can exceed 300 pounds which makes it a good value during those times. The rooms we had were quiet--not a lot of interior noise or noise from other rooms. One of our rooms faced a quiet side street, the other was on the busier street and was noisier, but not horrible noisy. The staff was helpful with luggage storage.

The Not-so-Good: I will never really understand the European mentality toward families and why more hotels don't have two beds. Do families just not travel together? In any event, at this hotel your option is a room with 1 queen and a queen sofa bed. From what I could tell, that was the popular choice for who the hotel was attracting. The queen sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable. It was about as thin as they come to the point where the metal springs stick up and poke you in the back, We did not get a particularly good sleep on it. I really don't know why they wouldn't just make it a 2 double or 2 queen bed room--far be it from me to tell them how to run their hotel, but from the looks of it there certainly would be demand and it would be a LOT more comfortable. At a minimum, there are much more comfortable sofa beds out there. The rooms generally are fairly tight. The bathrooms are efficiently designed, but as per normal in Europe, water gets all over the place in the shower (I'll never understand that one either). Also, while the hotel is well situated for transit options, and there are some local restaurants on the block, its not exactly the most central part of town for attractions (or really anything else), and its kind of a stretch of a walk to get somewhere you'd really want to be if inclined, with the possible exception of the London Eye which is relatively close. So, its not that it is a bad location, its just that there are certainly better ones.

So all in all, a mixed bag. If you just are traveling as a pair, its significantly more attractive since you wouldn't need the sofa bed.

Dear IADTraveler, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your stay with us. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it provides valuable insights into our guests' experiences. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, particularly the modern design, convenient location, and the value of our Hilton Honors redemption. It's great to know that you found our breakfast offerings more elaborate than what you might expect from a Hampton in the U.S., and that our staff was helpful in making your stay comfortable. We also appreciate your constructive feedback on areas where we can improve. We're sorry to hear that the sofa bed in your room did not meet your expectations in terms of comfort. Your suggestion about offering rooms with two beds is noted, and we will certainly consider this as we continue to refine our offerings to better accommodate families. We understand that the size of the rooms and the bathroom design might not have been ideal for your needs, and we appreciate your understanding that these elements can differ in European properties. Regarding our location, while we are proud of our proximity to Waterloo Station and some key attractions, we understand that it might not be the most central for all of our guests' plans. We always strive to provide clear information about our location so that guests can choose the best option for their visit to London. Once again, thank you for your review. We hope you'll consider staying with us again, and we’ll do our best to make your next stay even more comfortable. Safe travels! Kind Regards, Charley Moore Reception Manager

Stayed one night for business - be aware they charge a £30 refundable deposit on check-in.

Positives were that my room and communal areas were clean, room was spacious, easy to control the room temperature, good selection of snacks in the lobby.

Could improve: The breakfast - very basic for the price and felt very similar to a Travelodge breakfast but at a higher price. There was no orange juice available and the barman refused to let me buy one (despite there being small bottles for sale in the fridge behind him) which I thought was bizarre. Soundproofing could be better in the rooms - quite a bit of corridor noise from doors closing.

Location was good!

Had expected a lot more as this hotel is part of the Hilton chain!
It’s very no frills! So if you’re planning on staying here make sure you take your shower cap, slippers and vanity kit (ie, ear buds, cotton pads, etc), as you won’t get it here!
If you want towels after room service closure don’t expect to get anything! (which we did due to sanitary reasons - so had to use hand towels instead as it was too late to get something else from a shop).

Don’t even get me started on breakfast. This hotel is proud of its “hot breakfast”, for a 6 day stay….it was the same thing over and over again with no variety.
Tinned peaches… it’s like being transported to the 80s when this was acceptable! No variety of changes of sausages! Can’t order any Omelette or poached/fried eggs. Can you believe we had the same options on Christmas morning (day of our checkout)…would have thought something more festive would be on offer!

Don’t use the Uber Machine in the lobby as you get slugged it an extra % we paid £10 extra for our ride!

2 stars for location, some friendly staff and house keeping ladies doing a great job!

Location good. Well maintained ( with a small exception noted below) and clean. Room for 3 adults very tight when sofa opened for bed. Closet and bath were idiots’ delights. Door slid open for bathroom, but simultaneously closed closet. Bathroom had one double hook. Not nearly enough for 3 adults. Negligible counter space. 1 little hand towel bar at sink. Had stupid curved glass partition over less than half of shower. A shower curtain would have been better. A fully enclosed shower with a door might have cost nearly the same and prevented a soaked floor. This is typical for European shower logic. Closet lost almost 1/4 capacity with iron and ironing board in it. No clothes hooks anywhere in room. 1 desk chair squeezed into corner past desk-like table thing. Had safe but no fridge or microwave. Bed was noisy and wood platform eventually broke at one corner causing it to rock diagonally. Has nice 24 hour pizza service at bar that saved us the first evening after visiting Christmas at Kew Gardens. Great staff, especially the very cordial bar tender. Typical English breakfast with hot and cold foods.

I really enjoyed this hotel. I had originally booked the Marriott London County Hall but didn't want to spend that much so I researched an alternative that was in a good location with easy access to public transportation and walking to sites. The Hampton Inn Waterloo fit the bill. The area outside of the hotel isn't beautiful but the inside was good. The room was nice and the breakfast was really good. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and a major Tube station a short walk away. There is a Mark & Spencer (M&S) mini grocery in the Tube station if you want to grab an easy takeaway meal. We walked a lot and never had any issues with safety.

My parents and I stayed here to spend a few days in London before continuing on to France. The room was very clean and the sofa bed was already set up for us when we arrived. The included breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had at a Hampton property (I have stayed at several in the US and one in Amsterdam).

The location is great if you wish to use the Tube since Waterloo station is just down the street.

My only complaint was an issue with the bill. I had booked the room and my card was charged upon check in. My dad wanted (unbeknownst to me) to cover the cost of the room so requested that his card be used instead the night before we checked out. Somehow the charges on my card were not refunded and my dad’s card was charged an additional £700 on top of the agreed upon rate. I managed to resolve this after a little back and forth with the front desk agents the morning we checked out. The front desk agents were not sure where the additional charge came from and did agree that it was not correct. In the end, the correct amount was charged.

I will start with stating that the staff in this hotel are very nice, helpful & friendly. They really went out of their way to try to help us.
Another good thing is the location, just a 3 minute walk from Waterloo station, nearby pubs, restaurants and even a well-known coffee and sandwich place across the road. They also have a fairly good fitness room.
However, the hotel is in need of some TLC and modernization. The beds are terrible, old stained spring box mattresses that sag in the middle and squeak, creak, boing and a variety of other noises when you make the slightest movement. They were very uncomfortable. The room felt run down, the carpet wasn’t clean and there was an overall damp smell. There are no closets and one on the 3 drawers is taken up by the safe, which didn’t work even after it was fixed by one of the staff. The staff tried to give us another room but the beds were the same, there was a bad sour smell in the room and there was an overwhelming smell of paint on that entire floor.
Breakfast was disappointing, so in the 4 days we were there we only ate there on the first day, other days we went out to other places for to eat. Sorry, this is not what we were expecting, we were travelling around the UK and originally intended to spend our last night in that hotel. I cancelled and booked another place.
