Grand Plaza apartments give you the independence and catering flexibility of your own home together with the comfort and service of a 4* hotel. Think of us as your home, but with cleaning, catering, porters and reception staff thrown in. Serviced apartments are the new direction for the hotel industry. They provide a ready made home rather than a ready made room. Each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen. You choose whether to enjoy your own home cooking or try the Grand Plaza Breakfast or visit one of the myriad of restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel (or heat up a takeaway!) Grand Plaza is the largest Hotel/Apartment complex in Bayswater. We won the 2009 award for best serviced apartments in London as a result of votes from the readers of Business Destinations Magazine. We accommodate more people each day (tourist, leisure, romantic and business) than any other Serviced Apartment Hotel in the area.We are located in the centre of the West End overlooking the precise type of garden square which Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts climbed into in the Golden Globe nominated film, Notting Hill! We look forward to providing you with a home in central London.

The staff's service has garnered both appreciation and criticism, leaving an inconsistent impression on visitors. We are a family of 4 that spent a week in a studio quad. This was the only room that would fit our family that was available at the time of booking, but it served our purposes well.

The good: amazing location with two underground stops within a few minutes, Kensington Gardens a stone's throw away and tons of restaurants, grocery stores and other assorted conveniences within walking distance. There is a Santander bike stand just outside the hotel and others within a couple of minutes walk. The small kitchenette was the main reason I booked this property. We had all of our breakfasts at the hotel, and cooked a few simple dinners as well (pasta, stirfries, etc). The kitchenette has a four burner stovetop, a sink, a small fridge (no freezer), a microwave and a kettle as well as plates, small bowls, mugs, glasses & wine glasses, two pots, a frying pan and assorted cutlery and cooking implements. Dish soap and one tea towel were provided. The built in fan over the stovetop worked well to keep smells out. Water was plentiful and always hot and we couldn't hear anything from adjoining rooms. Laundry service was a very reasonable 11 pounds for wash, dry and fold of quite a large load. All of the staff were professional, friendly and responsive. When we asked for anything (new towels, an extra pillow, a problem with the facilities) it was given immediately.

The less good - the main beds are on the hard side so if you prefer your mattress soft, be warned. Our kids found the pull out bed very uncomfortable and we ended up putting that mattress on the floor each night for better support for them. Pillows are flat as a pancake. Ventilation was from one window that only opened a few inches. The weather was perfect for this for us, but had it been warmer I suspect the room might have become uncomfortably hot. There was a ceiling fan in the room. Street noise is inevitable. Wash clothes/face flannels aren't given. The room was carpeted and so never felt completely clean. The internet is free but unreliable. Don't count on it for doing work. It usually worked for streaming, but not always.

Overall this was a very good base for our adventures in London. I would book this property again, though I would spring for the larger room if one was available in order to have real beds for the whole family.

Located 5 minutes walk from a tube station connecting you to the centre of London, the rooms are quite large albeit with the decor being a little bit dated. However for the purposes of a traveller who wants to explore the city and surrounds during the day and use the room to rest their head of a night the rooms are fit for purpose. Location is close to supermarkets for those wanting to organise their own meals, whilst also having a number of pubs and a wide range of restaurants close at hand for those wanting to eat out.

I stayed a total of 10 nights in their triple executive studio and am only giving 4 stars because the beds were of excellent quality which is very important for me and the room was huge but other than that it there isn’t much else to write about. The rooms have a very thick rough carpet which no matter how much u clean will always look and feel dirty so I would urge this hotel to rip off the carpets and put some more practical flooring which is clean and more hygenic. Also due to the carpets I felt allergic all the time and had to keep windows open even in the cold to keep some air flowing, I am generally very allergic to carpets, cats, dog hair etc…so others who have such allergies please think before booking this place.

Otherwise it is a beautiful property and overall better maintained than most other similar priced hotels in the area, the staff are very decent people maybe not over friendly but still helpful and courteous and very professional. Its a shame because with very little expense the rooms can be upgraded drastically, just remove carpets, get some trendy cheap furniture and nothing else is needed. The kitchenette is well equipped and helped a lot to heat meals, prepare breakfast etc.

My family and I stayed at the Grand Plaza recently and were terribly disappointed with the star rating of this hotel. 4 star? Is this a joke??? I would give it a 1-2 star maximum. The photographer who took the brochure pics is a wizard with a camera. The room looked exactly the same as advertised, but at a fraction of the size of reality. The room was tiny, 4 people were overcrowded and we soon were getting on each others nerves.
The very outdated room was not at all what we were expecting, the kitchen had a fridge and a very old microwave that had a broken interior light. The bathroom was tiny and the heated towel rail was a hazard and burnt us all in turn. There was a broken sink counter that leaked water down your arm and the bath had a half glass shower door that made it hard to get in and out of the bath. The bathroom also had warning cards £500 fine for spilled water on the floor. There was a similar warning card on the door to the room warning of fake policemen you may encounter on your stay. (charming)
The included breakfast was awful, bread rolls with cold cuts and olives or tomatoes. It didn’t change and so we only ate a couple of times. Room service is fast and friendly, but expensive and includes few side orders of anything.
There is a Skybox and TV provided, but the TV in our room was so small it was almost impossible to see from the bed and remember it was a tiny room! I guess the screen size to be around 18” and thanks to the previous family the Sky box kept turning over automatically to the Cartoon Network at different times of the day to watch The amazing world of Gumball, this was annoying when trying to watch your favourite TV show.
Overall I would suggest skipping this hotel if you want luxury. If you don’t mind overpaying for an old outdated room with no modern outlets, poor WiFi and a TV smaller than your usual laptop screen then go for it. But for the money, I would stay at the Travelodge instead.

Stayed overnight for a theatre trip. Spent very little time there because we went after work and headed straight to the theatre (Checked in at 11pm and out at 10am) It was clean and tidy, basic decor but did the job.

checking in online beforehand made the late check in to collect our key at 11pm very easy and straight forward. Room/apartment was clean and tidy, if basic decor, but it was very cold. There was a heater but it was really close to the bed so you couldn’t leave it on all night.

Room was supposedly a twin, but when you push the two single beds together with only space for bedside tables and then it’s a wall so you cant move them, then it’s basically a double bed. Not a real issue for us but it might be for others. As a side note, I’d specified a twin 3 times; the booking itself, a message and confirmation via booking.com and a further message direct, and we still got the fake ‘twin’ room so if it’s going to be an issue for you keep that in mind

Breakfast was included, but we didn’t have it, it was a self help continental breakfast and we wanted a full cooked breakfast. The so called restaurant where they have breakfast looks more like a cafe out the back garden. It’s weird you go out a back door to get to it.

Having said all that, it did the job of a clean room and bed to sleep in.

We are a family of 4 and stayed here 11 nights over the Christmas period. Whilst acknowledging that tourist accommodation in London is often lacking in creature comforts, we expected more from this hotel. The layout of our apartment was unusual ( see photo) with steps leading to one bedroom and more steps leading to a small kitchen and dining area. We had to go up one set of steps and go down another to get from the bedroom to the kitchen. The kitchen was not well equipped - no toaster, a tempremental dishwasher etc. The biggest problem though was that the hot water ran out quite early in the morning and we often ended up with cold showers, not at all pleasant in winter. Also one night we came back to find our bed had been half made (see photo).
On the postive side the hotel is well located within 5 to 10 min walk to the Bayswater station (Circle and District lines) and Queensway Station (Central line) and walking distance to several supermarkets as well as to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens etc.
Note: We booked this hotel through Flight Centre, Melbourne(Australia). This is not the first time we have been unhappy with Flight Centre recommended accommodation.

I am currently staying at this hotel with my husband and children 16&13 yrs old, for 5 nights in total and so far, we have found everything extremely to our liking.

We wanted a good sized hotel room that would comfortably fit our family and luggage, but since all our agent 's propositions were non refundable, we were sceptical about booking ahead. So we chose Grand Plaza about 36 hours before our plane departure and we are so grateful for it!

The studio is spacy (about 30 sm) and it has everything we need and hoped for. First of all, there are four single comfortable beds, so the kids don 't get to sleep in a double sofa, as in many other hotels with similar prices. That has made a huge difference on our trip, because we all get a good night 's sleep and manage to move around London literally all day, since there 's so much to see! There is also plenty of furniture for storage - a big closet and drawer plus two night stands.

The kitchen is fully equiped and has 4 electric stoves, a microwave, a boiler and a fridge. There is also a big kitchen table with 4 chairs.
Nescafe, tea, sugar etc portions are available and are replaced every day.

The bathroom is very spacious too, with a big, deep bathtub and enough room by the sink to place your toiletries. Steaming hot water available 24/7. Mini shampoos etc also available.

Cleaning is daily and absolutely immaculate. My warmest congratulations to the people in charge.
Towels are changed daily (if placed inside the tub).

The staff is friendly and helpful - they let us check in early (at 11.00, though checking in is normally at 14.30) and we felt very relieved, because we had had an exausting journey. There is also the ability to leave your luggage at the reception before check in/after check out.

The location is unbeatable - a couple of blocks over Hyde Park, it feels very safe and quiet, but next to everything: supermarkets, pharmacies, great restaurants, delis, pubs and cafes. With 2 tube stations at your front door (Queensway and Bayswater), it lacks for absolutely nothing.

All in all, I would gladly repeat my stay here and I highly recommend it.

exactly 10 years ago we already stayed here with 2 people. this time we have booked for 3 people. the signs of use after 10 years are clearly noticeable. in the apartment there was a double bed and an open sofa bed. there was also a small kitchen with all facilities, but we only used the fridge and the kettle to make coffee. the bathroom has a bath with shower. the tub was quite high to get in and out of. also a toilet and sink. enough space to put toiletries for 3 people. the room G23 was located on the ground floor with almost direct exit to the inner garden and the breakfast veranda. convenient for smokers. we had not booked breakfast. after all, there was the option to pay for breakfast every morning. that was useful for testing first. the continental breakfast was considered good by us and we took it every morning. it was about £12 per person extra, which is reasonable by London standards. the hotel's location is a 10-minute walk from the underground Bayswater and Queensway which serve several lines. there are also bus stops nearby.

We took a family suite for 6, 4 nights. The stay was great, place is very clean and service is great. They also do laundry service including drying and folding for 11£ per basket :-)

Few min walk to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park and two underground stations.

London on of our dream place!
A gift from our family to spend 2 days there. Availabilities are not updated in a real time and you have to pay extra charge 60£ per night to get a room… fortunately they made a deal cheaper.
The chambermaid knocking for the service at 9am and making a face like angry when you ask to come back later… sorry if we want to sleep a bit more…
You pay 25£ per night for cleaning fees, even if they cleaned only once… how getting money easily!
Breakfast included, I ask the reception and breakfast team to prepare something to take away as we had to leave at 6am the day after, seemed like something really difficult and impossible. We got by our own 2 croissant the day before! Not friendly at all even greet seems difficult for the staff!
