Location: great, walking distance to Paddington and rather walking distance to Kensington Gardens. Lots of eateries around. Surprisingly quiet, well, except for emergency vehicles sound, obviously.
Staff - great! - very helpful front desk guys. Gave us the map, explained the area, provided with an extra hair dryer.
Complimentary drink at the bar - obviously, the choice is limited, it's fine. The bartender was good, but his little helper (a girl) who served us had no idea what she was doing - maybe a newbie, but the vibe we got from her was a little off... The bar had a loud group of customers, so we did not get a lot of attention from the bartender. Anyway, thank you for the drink!
Amenities - yes, elevator! except you have to take several steps to the actual floor where our room was - it was a little difficult for us with suitcases. Breakfast room on -1 floor, the choices are the same throughout our stay. Fried eggs and fried ham were being replenished during breakfast by staff. Basic, but sufficient. Free tea/coffee in the lobby.
Room - double room, 3d floor - think of a cruise cabin, just a bit smaller. Not a problem for me, but I can understand other peoples' frustration with the size. However, it is an older Georgian building retrofitted to be a budget hotel, understandable. Mini Fridge is a plus, a tea kettle, a hair dryer, a TV, a little rack for clothes and a bed. That's it. Suitcases can fit under the bed. Air conditioner works. A tip - keep one of the guest cards in the power slot the whole day - otherwise your AC and fridge will stop working while you are out. We had to take turns between using power outlets to charge our phones and stuff.
Bathroom - very small. Very. Seriously, think of a cruise cabin. Only a little smaller. At first the sound of flushed water along the wall bothered me, then the next day I got used to it. Shampoo, gel, soap - all is supplied. We ran out of toilet paper one day.
It was an interesting experience. If on a budget, I'll stay here again. I wonder if all hotels on Sussex are approximately the same way, since they all are fitted into the same type of buidlings...

We travelled as a family to London for 5 nights, and stayed at the Stylotel for the first time. After reading all of the positive reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to find our "home away from home".

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Paddington Station, and of many restaurants and shops. The Paramount Lebanese Kitchen up the street is delicious and a must-try imo. It is also within walking distance to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park and the Italian Gardens.

It is true that the hotel is small and rooms are compact, it is a matter of managing your expectations. The bathrooms are very small, but fully functional for your basic needs. The rooms were spotlessly cleaned and the beds were very comfortable. Exactly what was needed after walking London the entire day. With the prices for accommodation in London (especially upon exchange to your home currency), this hotel provides a great experience for a reasonable price (for London).

The included breakfast was fantastic, as were the ladies in the kitchen, who will make your eggs however you like them. Full hot English breakfast, along with some continental options, like croissants, yogurt and fruit. Tables are always cleared and cleaned.

Front desk staff always greeted with a smile and were on hand to answer any questions or make suggestions for trips and excursions. The lobby has a clean and comfortable seating area with complimentary coffee and tea (as well as free supplies to take to your room) and a small fridge with drinks and snacks to purchase at regular non-hotel rates.

If returning to London, I would consider staying here again.

Hello, I stayed at this hotel in Feb 2025. There is always someone at the reception and all the people are friendly and eager to pass on information. Had booked an EZ and got an upgrade to a DZ. However, the room for 2 people would be very small, with single use so far ok if you don't have great demands. Since I was a city tourist, I had enough space. Toilet and shower are mini-small but everything worked perfectly. There are also small shower gels and other toiletries. Breakfast was perfect for my needs. Everything from butter, ham, cheese, juices coffee, yogurt, cereal, fruit and the coffee - although filter coffee - really good. On arrival I got a voucher for a drink from Sussex Bar and picked out a Guiness beer - full of delicious. and a very nice atmosphere. You can have coffee or tea throughout the day. The hotel is about 10 minutes from Hydepark and 10 minutes from U Paddington. For me as a city tourist a good choice, would book there again.

We stay at Stylotel on our family travels to or through London so it has become kind of our "home away from home" in London. Our last stay was just last week and our first stay was back in 2018. I remember first choosing it mainly due to the convenient location -only a 5’ walk to Paddington Station, many restaurants and shops in the area, Kensington Gardens/ Hyde Park also in walking distance. But the main reason we have been returning to Stylotel ever since is the exceptional service and value for money. Front desk staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful with any kind of query from trips and excursions and getting the best ticket prices on attractions, to arranging transport or suggesting places to visit. Especially Andreas, the manager, as he will go above and beyond to make each stay better than the last one. The lobby has a seating area with complimentary coffee and tea and free supplies to take to your room and a small fridge with drinks and snacks to buy. Nice, clean, comfortable lobby. Also, luggage can be stored when arriving very early or checking out very late in the day so you don’t miss a minute from getting out and enjoying London. The included breackfast is very good, english breackfast with extras like croissants, yogurts and fruit. Just the right start for your day. Stylotel has many types of rooms, some are compact, some more spacious, but all of them functional, clean, loaded with plugs to charge devices and the beds are very comfortable. For our last stay we requested a Stylosuite for 4 and it was just amazing. My kids had a blast! We are always out and about all day when in London so Stylotel provides exactly what we need. Especially since prices for family accommodation in London are way to high when you basically get there just to shower, sleep, have breackfast and get going. It is about what kind of trip you are on. What is the point of paying for extra luxuries when you are not there to enjoy them all day. Stylotel provides my family with a wonderful experience for a very reasonable price each and every time. Just love it!

From the outside, the hotel appeared fairly average, with a modern vibe that unfortunately had a “cheaply done” feel. The staff were helpful and welcoming, which was a nice start to our stay. However, we were surprised to find that our room was not actually in the main hotel building but located across the road, above a bar.

One positive was that, despite its location, we couldn’t hear the bar from our room, which was two floors up. The bar itself had an airport-travel theme—a creative idea that, in my opinion, didn’t quite translate well. Still, we received a free drink voucher, which was a nice touch, and the atmosphere was generally okay, although the music was a bit loud. The bar staff were very nice and friendly but had little knowledge about the wines.

Getting to our room felt unusual. We had to walk through the bar to a back elevator, which then took us up to our room. Later, we discovered a side entrance that allowed us to bypass the bar entirely, which made things a bit easier. Upon stepping off the elevator, we were greeted by a narrow hallway with neon lights and sharp turns, which felt cramped and a bit disorienting.

We had booked a "family room," but it didn’t meet our expectations. Although it was clean enough, it lacked any charm or distinctive features. The room was small and narrow, with barely enough space to move around. There was a small kitchenette with a metallic finish; it was functional and served its purpose without issues. However, the bathroom was a major letdown: tiny and cramped, it felt more like an airplane restroom. The sink, made from wood and metal, was beginning to rot, adding to the rundown feel. The amenities were adequate, though the towels, while clean, were rough and uncomfortable.

The room itself was overcrowded with three beds and a small wardrobe in one corner, leaving minimal space to navigate. Additionally, there were no power outlets near the beds, which was inconvenient. The view from the window was uninspiring—it looked directly into a neighboring apartment. The TV was a small flat-screen but offered a decent selection of channels.

One critical detail that wasn’t clear at booking was that the main hotel lobby and staff were in a separate building across the road. Staying above a bar was not ideal, especially given that we had booked a "family room."

In summary, I would only suggest this hotel for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind a very basic, no-frills room and who prioritize proximity to public transport (it’s right by Paddington Station). Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families or anyone looking for comfort. I am also very surprised by the other reviews. Are they real?

We stayed at the hotel for 8 days.
Our experience in general was fine, and it served us fairly during our stay.

Pros:
1. The hotel is located a couple of minutes walking from the central train and underground station of Paddington. This makes the transportation from the hotel super comfortable for traveling to each place in London, to arrive from Heathrow airport (via the Elizabeth line) and even to travel to places outside of London (such as Windsor).

2. The hotel is located in a very good place in Paddington as well, and is not very far from many restaurants, bars, supermarkets (such as M&S), and from other touristic sites such as: Hyde park, Baker street, Madame Tussauds, Regent's park etc.

3. The reception (and especially the manager, Andrea) is very kind and offers a useful and immediate service for every issue. Not all the rooms in the hotel contain mini fridge, but with a personal request - we got a room that contained one.

4. The hotel works with different touristic companies, and offers discounts for some touristic sites and theatre shows, making it very comfortable to use the reception for ticket ordering.

5. The hotel offers tea, coffee and biscuits 24/7, and we were also given a voucher for 2 drinks in the next-door bar.

6. The electric sockets in the rooms are international, so no need for any adapters :)
Also, the visual design of the hotel is nice, and the facilities in the rooms are good.

Cons:
1. I think the main disadvantage of the hotel is its crowded rooms. We took a twin Styloroom (a room for 2 people with separate beds), and we got a room with an area of about 10 m^2. Although we managed to get along, it felt very uncomfortable, and we didn't have a lot of space to put on our stuff. Also the illumination of the rooms is rather dim.
The reception didn't really have a better alternative for us, since this is the basic design of the rooms. Also, I can't really tell how frequent this phenomenon is in other hotels in Paddington. Although the general experience was okay, be aware before of this issue before booking, if you need more space in your room.

2. We had some days where the cleaning staff didn't replace our towels or the shower gels. Although the reception gave us new towels and gels straight away, it's quite annoying to ask for this specially.

3. The breakfast in the hotel is okay in general, but it is rather routine and doesn't change at all from one day to another. It might be nicer to allow more variety and options.

In summary, if the size of the rooms is not a big issue for you - this hotel can be a very good option for staying in London, especially in matters of good service and location.

We spent 3 nights at this property located in Paddington, within walking distance of the tube station (Circle and District) which allows you to reach central London in ten minutes. The hotel's strengths are therefore the location, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. Upon our arrival I was pleasantly surprised by the availability of the person at the reception in providing us with all the logistical information we needed. The rooms are furnished in a modern style, small in size, but comfortable. Only negative note the Nespresso machine did not work. Breakfast is varied but without excess. A hotel that I definitely recommend for those who come to London on holiday.

We stayed at this hotel for a night on our way to Paris and was genuinely incredible value. 4 of us stayed (2 adults / 2 children) here and for what it is, a cheap (£125) hotel near Paddington it was super.

The room had crazy (in a good way) number of charging points which was amazing for children’s devices. Plus we had a room with 2 double beds and a single bed (did I mention it was only (£125 and this is central London). The room was 307.

WiFi is good and the breakfast (full English available) made us question if we had somehow been upgraded.

The only negative was there was no lift which was a pain as we were staying in Paris for a week and had two heavy suitcases.

But this is a great one night/weekend hotel!

The rooms are extremely small but I keep coming back here because of the atmosphere. The room design and colors make you feel like you are staying at a space station – very silver and high tech. The lobby has a warmth and hospitality to it, and the staff are so friendly – I felt like I was genuinely cared for in the middle of a huge city. And there is no feeling like swooping out of Heathrow Airport on the Heathrow Express to Paddington and walking less than five minutes to get to Stylotel. You cannot find a more convenient arrangement at this price. I got from the airport runway (as the plane landed) to my hotel room in 65 minutes!

The hotel itself is small but each floor looks quite different with bright colors and furnishings – it feels like a boutique hotel. The place feels as creative and magical as London itself. I have great memories staying here and look forward to coming back soon.

Fr a first timer to London this is a great hotel. Not far from Paddington Station to come from or go to Heathrow Airport. The underground is on the main tourist road. Good kfc and other restaurants very close by good value meals. The hotel provides free hot and cold breakfasts in its dining area very yummy food to start your day. The room is small but functional however the shower toilet and hand basin is very small like on a cruise shop style. Endless tea and coffee is a bonus. Room has a bar fridge. TV on wall.and a room safe easy to work. Give it a try for $200 Aussie a night is good value. Oh yeh all staff I met were friendly and helpful and importantly know their roles.

The shower space is very small. I weigh about 150 pounds and I barely had enough space to turn around in. Think of a shower on a cruise ship and you won't be far off.
