Not only was I two hours early for my check in which wasn’t a problem as my room was ready (luck for me) Toby presented a bottle of Prosecco for my birthday as I had mentioned in booking it was a birthday treat…so chuffed and the attention to detail … I would have been happy with a glass! The studio I was in was perfect … everything you needed and beautifully presented. I know that the hotel has been open a while and things get bashed about when used but it felt that it had been lovingly looked after. They’ve just got it right and no wonder they are popular.. it really felt like I could relax … unfortunately the cafe was closed when I popped in but managed to get a cold drink… hotel has lots going on which was really different … loads of local food shops and cafes and amazing charity shops… also travel into central London was a breeze… I slept like a dream in this hotel beautiful crisp linen and blackout curtains and noise was really minimal if anything at all.
Fantastic shower
Gorgeous fluffy towels and stunning toiletries…
The only negative I had was there was no kitchen drying cloth but there’s a mini dishwasher.. I probably missed it somewhere because they really thought of everything!
If you want a self contained stay in London I would massively recommend this company what set them apart for me was the customer service and the warmth and attention to detail, all of the above are imperative for me when I travel…
Well done Kingsland Locke I will be back!!!!
The kitchen is complete and well equipped, which is practical if you want to save money. The television is connected so you can cast your devices easily to it.
Very well located in a popular and lively area. Within walking distance you will find an underground station, bus stops (which serve all of London) and plenty of shops to do your shopping.
The only downside would be the air conditioning which makes noise (not possible to turn it off) and the bed which is a little low.

I love Dalston - the most amazing restaurants are all around the hotel, and the access to cultural spaces like EartH is great. It is, however, a good way out from anything in central London.
Location - perfectly placed for adventures in east, literally steps away from independent vegan supermarkets, cute coffee shops, craft beer, live music and queer nightlife.
The decor: same colour scheme as my own house in concrete, deep green, putty pink, soft griege and black, impeccably designed, lots of soft lighting in the rooms.
The rooms: dreamy soft beds, full kitchens complete with dishwasher and fullsize fridge, nice to have for a night's stay and an absolute godsend for anything longer.
The staff: absolute babes. Always happy to give you extra tea, a recommendation for somewhere to buy that amenity you forgot or where to get the best cocktail, didn't bat an eye when my dog accidentally peed on the bed last year, and a big thankyou to Darren and Toby who gave me a free late checkout when I messed up my booking!
Bonus: south facing rooms look down the high street with City of London in the distance which looks dreamy at night.
Andy, needed help to find it.
I have 2 degrees but am useless at Google maps, techno etc, so called the hotel and spoke to the charming Flynn, who immediately offered to come and help me.
He arrived with a massive smile and took my bags from me. He then got me some tea on arrival and was without doubt the nicest member of any hotel staff, we have met in the 56 countries we have visited.
Last week we had a special anniversary stay at Mandarin Oriental, London , which was superb , but no one matched up to young Flynn’s excellent interpersonal skills. The room was compact, it spotless , the beds and pillows super comfy and the kitchenette was was equipped ( apart from no cutlery)
Nice bathroom and towels with good quality toiletries.
We could hear someone’s TV nearby, n intermittent sound of flowing water and there was a lot of noise from inconsiderate guests and outside but this is London so to be expected.
"The Locke in Dalston is exceptional. It’s a shame they had to shut down and handover the location to a new company. "Read full review
"Busy, busy road. When booking Ubers, set pick up point just along the road opposite cinema where there is a pull in point for taxis. No shelves in accessible bathroom."Read full review
"I don’t recommend this hotel at all the good things is the price was good only this and hotel clean but like i say no room service cleaning"Read full review
"The rooftop bar was a great gathering space! If you're looking for a quiet work spot, try the basement (brewery)!"Read full review
