Small, independent hotel above a loud and studenty pub in Mile End. Great transport links, easy to find and a great price. Sarah, at the bar was really welcoming and helped me find my way. I’ve stayed in a few rooms above London pubs, and was a nice stay. I loved the effort made to provide great fixtures and fittings.

Furniture was well-made, there were plenty of well placed power sockets, mattress was new and the bed felt clean. I got a really good night’s sleep. I appreciated the electric blind, anti fog bathroom mirror and coffee machine. The shower was great!
Everything was clean, modern and new.

On the downside, there was loud music playing somewhere at all times (I was at the back of the property on a a Tuesday night). This didn’t spoil it for me - I’m used to cities, but it is not as sound proofed as it could be. Drapes in front of the window could probably cut a lot of this.

The bathroom was tiny, and that made it difficult to get changed in the morning. Another mirror in the main room would help this. There was also nowhere to hang anything or put bags. It would have been great to have some hooks and hangers for tomorrows clothes.

Finally, small bottles of soap, shampoo etc for every guest seem incredibly wasteful, and I hope that more hotels will stop using them. This could be easily sorted by putting refillable dispensers into the shower cubicle.

This is a great little boutique hotel in East London (zone 2), a quick walk from Mild End tub station (Central, District, and Hammersmith & City lines) and located right next to Queen Mary University and Mile End Park. I was visiting Queen Mary University for my job and they had recommended this hotel as a convenient option. It was really comfortable and charming. My room was on the top floor and it was very quiet at night. You first enter through the pub on the ground floor and they give you a key so you can use the private hotel entrance on the side of the building. The pub and the hotel are all part of the same business, and the people who work there seem very welcoming. The price was remarkably affordable for London, especially considering how close it is to public transit and how east it is to get into the city centre. I would definitely stay here again.

A very pleasant stay at this hotel, within easy walking distance to Mile End tube (5mins). Right next to the Regent canal and a lovely walk up to Victoria park.
A clean and quiet room on the top floor with a lovely funky bar within the hotel, one point to look out for the hotel is called the Dirty liquor but look for the cherry bar as this is the hotel above and not named as The dirty liquor. Sarah our host was very helpful and even let us leave our bags in the bar on the final day until ready to collect. Worth the money we paid… Thank you. 😊🙏🏻

This place was ok to rest our heads for the night. We were in room 12. I found the bed comfortable and I wasn’t disturbed by noise in the night which was good. The air conditioning worked a treat which was lovely on a hot day! Just over a 30 min walk to the London Stadium so a good location for us.
A few negatives:
1) Window didn’t open (although I felt lucky to have had a window for light as many hotels in London do not!)
2) Strange bathroom setup - the sink was over the toilet, so I had to kneel on the toilet to brush my teeth, wash hands etc. The shower was large and good toiletries too
3) I wasn’t keen on the blue wall colour - it reminded me of being in a teenage boy’s bedroom and it showed up every hand print, condensation from the air con etc!
4) no where to hang clothes - no shelves or hangers anywhere
I would consider staying here again if I were to attend a concert at the London Stadium again, but thought for the price (£109 excluding breakfast) was quite high for what it was.

Lovely small hotel above an equally good pub on the A11 (Mile End Road). The service is great and relaxed, with easy check in and out. The rooms are a decent size for London, well equipped and with comfy beds and linen. Transport is easy with bus stops directly outside or a 5 min walk to the tube. The Regents canal is directly outside should you wish to follow our example and takes sunny walk down to the Thames side pubs of Docklands.

Stayed there whilst I was visiting the York Hall for some boxing. The room was ok at first, the paint needs redoing as was worn and patchy. The windows don't open so was forced to rely on the Aircon which didn't really help. During the night was constantly awakened by the tube the tube rumbled underground which shook the room. Went back for a drink after the event and the place was dead. Not the best place to stay in hindsight

Staying in the Mile End area of London. Found this funky place by chance so went in for a drink. Couldn't have been better. Patrons were very friendly and good humoured. Was only going to have one drink but the barmaid Ellie was so friendly, chatty and fun I stayed for another few pints. Great place and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Music was fantastic also. Will definitely be coming back!

DO NOt stay here. We came to London for a concert. Weeks before I emailed the hotel asking if we can check in early, to which I we had email confirmation that it was okay to check in at 12. We arrived only to find the property completely closed. We banged on doors and windows for ages, even delivery’s had arrived and they were waiting on the street to drop off orders. We had to find an alternative hotel short notice. Shocking service! Avoid!
